Vang Vieng Romantic Mountain View Resort

The views are to die for! Incredibly serene. If you need some time to be in nature and to rest and reset it’s a great place to be. It’s also 10 minutes walk to the night market, just make sure to use the local makeshift bridge. It’s pretty safe.

The bathroom was not great, but it wasn’t the end of the world for me. They offered to switch the room, but it declined.

Undoubtedly it’s huge property. Good greenery around. Good breakfast and well in time

I really enjoyed the breakfast – it had a great selection of fresh and delicious options to suit a variety of tastes. The location was also excellent, close to major attractions and public transport, making it very convenient to get around.

There weren’t many bad things to say.

Beautiful garden. Comfortable beds. Great communicating rooms for families. Quiet location in a local neighbourhood. Walking to the touristy part of town was a bit far with young kids but very easy to take the hotel shuffle and tuk tuk back.

The Vang Vieng Romantic Place Resort is situated slightly outside the town center, which isn't an issue as it's just a few minutes' walk away. The property is beautiful, though access by car can be challenging. Some parts of the resort are still under construction; however, during my stay, there was no noise disturbance. The breakfast was good, and the surroundings are perfect, offering a lovely view of the mountains. In the mornings and evenings, you can admire the hot air balloons.

The rooms could be made more "romantic"; for instance, replacing the neon lighting with warmer tones would enhance the ambiance.

Great pool and beautiful views. Rooms were big and comfortable.

Unfortunately the bridge to the town has fallen down when we were there so we had to walk around to get in to town. When the bridge is rebuilt the location would be excellent. Little English spoken by staff, which is fine but did make things a bit difficult to communicate.

Bedroom is very basic and not really welcomingBad water pressure in the showerNo fridge in the roomManager and staff do no speak a word of English so you have to arrange everything with the owner's sister (train tickets, air balloon reservation and ticket, motorbike rent, choice/time of breakfast, payment for room, train station pick-up etc.) which is not very convenient (even if the sister is responsive and available 24/7 on WhatsApp). This caused a lot of stress during my stay (receiving the train ticket QR code just one hour before reaching the train station is not very pleasant).I paid USD 30 per night which is far too expensive for the service provided.

- our transfer from the train station didn’t arrive - breakfast is bland and prepared outdoors under the hotel- lots of construction going on/mess - staff do not speak English and it seems disorganised - rooms are not cleaned daily - photos are deceptive - no cushions on sunbeds or shade around pool - cannot pay by card for your room

Large comfortable room and a nice pool that is shaded in the afternoonIt's on the otherside of the river to the town but there are a few nice restaurants on this sideand also some convenience stores. The bamboo bridge shortcut had been swept away as it was the wet season so it was a longer walk over the Nam Song bridge to the town.

It has a unfinished feel with numerous building projects that will eventually improve the facilities.

The view from the breakfast is beautiful. The swimming pool is big and has a lovely view.

The hotel accepts cash only. We decided to pay in local currency, they used their own exchange rate to convert from dollar which added almost 10% to the overall price. They couldn't show me any justification explaining where this rate was coming from. The hotel offers a number of tours and activities but be aware that their commission is much higher than anywhere else. The hotel is far from the center (between 45 mins and 1 hour walk). There is no windows in the room which is a real shame if you choose the hotel because of its surroundings.

Location was absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was made to order every morning with fresh fruit.

The staff were brilliant. A huge thank you to DoDo in particular (receptionist/front of house) who was hugely helpful, responsive and clear on communication with everything. Any requests we made were attended to very quickly, DoDo clearly really cares and wants guests to have the best possible stay. Thank you! DoDo even arranged for a family member to scoot me by motorbike to an ATM at short notice when I needed cash! ⭐?We really enjoyed the swimming pool.The breakfasts were great and plentiful in terms of portions which set us up nicely for the day. I had multiple dishes every morning! ?Staff kept the place nice and clean.Gorgeous setting/view.

Pillows were firm....could do with a softer version.Our particular room didn't have any windows which was a shame (ours was a triple room). Regular double rooms are a little nicer I think.

Despite saying we could pay in US Dollars at check out they rejected a number of bills as they were not in pristine condition straight out of ATM . Luckily another guest exchanged the creased dollars into not very crisp Laos currency. This was fortunate as the nearest ATM is 25 min walk and we would have missed the train to our next destination. They are only cash only as have not got a credit card machine and do not take bank transfers. Strange in 2024!!!

Large clean rooms with beautiful surrounds. Great breakfast options. Helpful staff. Can rent scooters to get around.

There was ongoing construction which impacted the atmosphere a little but it wasn’t too noisy. The main path to the town was also being paved when we were there so had to take a muddy/ bumpy path which would be very difficult if you didn’t have experience with a scooter. It is a fair walk from town so you’d generally need some way of getting there - eg bicycle or scooter

Beautiful view looking at the amazing mountains of vang Vieng. located across the river but still walking distance to restaurants/bars. staff were amazing and extremely helpful in organizing train tickets, scooters and tours. thanks Dodo ?

unfortunately the rooms didn’t have windows so there was a missed opportunity for beautiful views. felt a bit enclosed in the room. the property was still under construction so not all facilities were working, such as restaurant / bar and tv wasn’t connected.

Loved the location, the scenery was stunning! The pool was brilliant and massive sun loungers. The breakfast was lovely brought to our room and a good choice to pick from. The staff are amazing, always making sure everything is just right and so helpful. Rooms were very spacious and bed was comfy.

My only nit picks are the air con was quite noisy and woke me up a lot in the night. The soap was a bar and I am used to gel and most hotels provide this so that was a different adjustment.
