Long walk from car park and reception to room, noisey common areas near massages, rooms weren’t overly sound proof

Room is big and comfortable, hot spring is nice .Free snack in the evening is good.Breakfast buffet has many choice.

The private bathroom is a bit small.

It was such a lovely stay with many free amenities included. Clean and quiet and in a great location!

This place is everything we could hoped for. A relaxing onsen experience with everything included, from a the beautiful Yukata to the free flow of alcohol in the evening!

Hakone Yutowa was an exceptional experience for our extended family, it was a 5 minute walk from the Gora Station. There were four families traveling together and we truly enjoyed our time together as Hakone Yutowa took out all the stress of traveling in a large group. All four rooms were exceptional and we were amazed at the amount of room we have for our family of five. We paid extra to have dinner included with our reservation. Each evening we enjoyed our exceptional Japanese-style meal and had no problem dining together. Both dinner and breakfast were exceptional and enjoyed by all members of our party. The onsen and sauna were relaxing and we enjoyed all of the extra treats at the onsen and in the lobby each day. We spent the days walking and touring around Hakone, and the evenings relaxing at the Ryokan. This was a wonderful experience and respite during our time in Japan and I look forward to visiting this location again in the future.

One of our favourite hotels during our Japan trip. The quad room was large and comfortable. It was well laid out and included a balcony. The onsen was nice as was the private onsen. The library area was lovely and the kids enjoyed the free snacks and treats. Breakfast was good and the evening we had dinner, staff were helpful and accommodating about food issues (1 vegetarian and 1 child with food sensory issues). The location is excellent, just a short, flat walk from Gora station.

Not much. These are VERY minor: (1) there's only one key per room which is tricky when you have gender separated onsen; (2) its a bit of a rabbit warren to get from one tower to the other (where the onsen are located) and (3) while there's alcohol available in the evening there is no wine. But these are all extremely minor and I would 100% stay here again.

The breakfast was perfect, They had lots of choices at reasonable price.

Maybe provide more western style breakfast

Very beautiful place, with a nice lounge on the 2nd level (free alcoholic drinks from 7pm to 9pm, daily), an outdoor place where you can dip your feet into the foot bath or chill around the fire place. There’s also private onsens which are on a first-come-first-serve basis (limited to 30 mins for each use). Place is quiet and clean, the rooms are huge.

The breakfast and dinner choices are repetitive (buffet style), though the dishes are pretty delicious. Aside from food, was hoping that the onsen was outdoor instead of indoor.

I like the ambiance of tatami room and the Yukata provided for everyone to wear and walk around the hotel. The free drinks and happy hours was organised in a very successful way. Beautiful foot spa and Japanese garden with wood fire heater. Onsen was clean and nice with Sekkisui skin care to pamper the ladies.

Literally I like everything about this hotel.

Lovely breakfast. Lovely staff. Wonderful ambience and great location. great onsen and lovely outdoor oasis area for footbaths and sitting by the fire at night. complementary snacks/sweets and drinks in the afternoon and evening were such a treat. Walking distance to open air museum which was amazing if you love art and fresh air!

The pillows in Japan hotels have been either too hard or too flat for me. Also there was a low pitched vibration that I could always hear in my room - our room was above a utility room I think. It didn't disturb my sleep once I was asleep, but it was definitely noticeable as the mattresses are so close to the floor.

Hakone Yutowa is beautiful and conveniently located. When we booked Yutowa we had no idea that we were going to be staying is such lovely accommodation. The rooms were beautifully presented, onsen really nice, and the common areas a pleasure to be in. Complementary snacks, cakes and drinks were a bonus. Staff were really helpful, including when one our out children “accidentally” locked the room safe box.

Dinner was lovely, but expensive.

The hotel is located near Gora train station and within easy reach of Hakone Yumoto station. The staff is friendly and the facilities are top notch. The private bath and the library lounge were especially lovely, as well as the terrace!

Location was good and convenient.Private and Public Spa was hot and relaxing.Popcorn and free Melon Soda.Mangas were excellent.All you can eat buffets were good (especially tamago.)Food all around was also good.

Absolutely Nothing?

Traditional yet modern in design. Food was the best of our hotel stays. Comfortable hot springs facilities. Good location in Gora near transportation.

The condos were a little too spread out from the rest of the hotel. Had to access outside to go to the hot springs and restaurant. We were lucky the weather was good but can’t imagine if it got any colder.

The location was great. Access to transport was fantastic. Interesting mid century Japanese building.

Not an accessible property. A complex building layout and lots of stairs.

Loved this hotel! Location is terrific. Staff is exceptional. Various food, drink and snack options throughout the day are great. I'll be returning in late 2024 and looking forward to visiting again.

The baths didn’t allow people with tattoos.

Free snacks and drinks. Private onsens were nice. Very good customer service. The hotel is right next to Gora station, so it was very easy for us to visit other attractions.

Great facilities and very clean. The private onsen were great and never had to wait long to use them. The snacks and free drinks were much appreciated. Buffet restaurant was great and food was high quality.
