The location was pretty good. It is right next to the station and tons of stores. The views around the hotel are incredible.

The room stank like a manhole. The bathroom has an opening right inside the room. I wish they had put some kind of air freshener. It just messed up the entire experience.

    8IuliiaPosted on: 6-23-2025

The location is excellent, it takes less than 5 minutes by foot to reach the hotel. It is very comfort for business trip and good value for money, considering the prices in Hakone.

Posada Suimei has a perfect location - very close to the station and beautiful river as well restaurants. The single bed room is located in a building across the street with a lift. However the facilities in the main building (eg coffee in voyer, neat onsen) was of a very high standard. Staff were fluent in English and extremely helpful and friendly

The bathroom & room is very small

    9KaPosted on: 4-23-2025

The service was truly excellent. Thank you to the lady and the man at the reception who kindly accomodated any of my requests

This is just by my standards (I understand Japan is very different) but I found the toilet quite small!

The property is conveniently located near the train station and is easy to find simply by walking there. The staff at the main building's reception are very welcoming and provide you with all the details you need for your stay in the property.

As other reviewers have suggested the room is very small. You will struggle to fit in there even with a single suitcase. If you are there for a short stay this obviously won't be a problem. The room I had booked had not been cleaned. The bedsheets had been changed but the floor itself was dirty and full of breadcrumbs from the previous occupant. The toilet had hair left on the floor, sink and bathtub. When I reported this someone from the main desk had to come and verify my claims. I had to leave the property afterwards for them to clean it and I have to say that I could still see dirt on the carpet and other items in the room (such as the kettle and the box of tissues) still looked dirty when I returned but at least the bathroom looked considerably cleaner. The staff were very apologetic but this is not a property I will be returning to or be recommending to others.I also spotted dead insects at the alcove located at the entrance of this annex building.

The location couldn't be better, close to all transportation, the room is small and perfect for a solo traveler. For a solo traveler that is not going to spend much in the room is just ideal. The highlight is that you get to use the onsen from the main hotel. I thought that an onsen that is included in the price wouldn't be that nice... well it turns out that it was actually awesome. You don't get to stay long in the water as you won't handle it due to the hot ao this makes it just ideal. You go for a quick bath before your walking and another one before bed. My body is new! Also the staff is absolutely amazing and everyone seems to speak perfect English in Hakone.

I know it is not part of their culture, but I would add some lounge chairs to lay down. Just a suggestion. Nothing to do with the property but if you plan to come to Hakone please check the weather for wind and the Hakone Navi website for service disruptions. If the ropeway and the cruiseship is close, work around your itinerary and delay your arrival here. Otherwise your Hakone Free Pass will be a waste of money. But definitely don't miss Hakone! It's beautiful, people are really nice, they make you feel welcome.

A small room, but with everything needed and a super-comfortable bed.Staying just over the road from the main hotel, this place was a perfect budget-friendly option. Guests are able to make use of the rooftop onsen in the.main building, which was fabulous and offered free shampoo, etc. Blissful!

There was nothing I can think of.As has previously been mentioned in other reviews, the bathrooms are tiny - which presented no problem at all.for me, but anyone especially overweight might struggle a bit.

    Nothing to dislike

    9MarekPosted on: 3-17-2025

perfect location close to station, amazing onsens in main building (3 different) which I´ve enjoyed mostly aloneroom is small but regular japanese small, so nothing special, private bathroom free coffee

    9SharunPosted on: 2-28-2025

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location steps away from main station and bus stops.

older style room, hallway and room had a smell.

    8JinzePosted on: 2-27-2025

Great for solo travellers. Nice cozy bed. You have access to Onsens and facilities at Hakone Suimeisou.

The bathroom is very small, if you are a bigger sized person, you might want to use the bathroom at Hakone Suimeisou.

    9AnthonyPosted on: 1-9-2025

You get access to an onsen + open air bath which was a welcome surprise, there's even an option to book a private onsen should you want one. Hotel entrance is located down the street from the bigger hotel - it's located conveniently within the Hakone-Yumoto area and is quite near the main station/restaurants.

Near to the train station. Quiet room even if the hotel is near a busy place

My room is in another building.

    4HendraPosted on: 11-22-2024

Friendly staffs and good onsen facilities with the bigger hotel. The price of the room can be considered cheap compared to ryokan room in the area which fit 4-5 people. but since we only have 2 people it didnt make sense for us to book a ryokan room. The location is definitely a big plus

there are stains on the wall and bed covers, there are also spider webs on corners. The bed is too soft for my liking, there's almost no support for the back, could only sleep 3 - 4 hours before waking up.

    10JaePosted on: 10-23-2024

very near to Hakone Yumoto station. Friendly staff and good hot spring.

    10JonathanPosted on: 10-17-2024

The staff are very helpful and kind people. The room is small and cozy feeling. Enjoyed staying here and slept well

    9ZhuoPosted on: 10-16-2024

Surprisingly good and much better than what some reviews have suggested! The room was quite small and the equipment basic, but it was more than good enough for a good night sleep. Bonus points for the free coffee in the hotel lobby, proximity to public transport and the access to the onsen which were absolutely wonderful (a yukata was additionally provided by the hotel). Hotel staff was very hospitable and accomodating. Would definitely come again especially for that price!

Very small room (just enough for a 1.85m tall and slim guy, might be not enough for someone bigger)
