Pros +

The Onsen hotel exceeded our expectations. Staff were very friendly and helpful even though English was not, tbeir primary language. Food was incredible with all traditional Japanese settings, presentation, and of course taste. Onsen was extraordinary.

Cons -

Bath to shower was not in the rooms, but in the onsen area. But that made it authentic.
