    Pros +

    • Gave you robes to wear around the hotel and to the Onsen. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. The view, when clear, of mt. fuji was amazing.
    • Great view of Mt. Fuji and really nice in-room Onsen. Very kind and welcoming staff
    • The onsite Onsen is not to be missed. With views to Mt Fuji, it's just stunning to sit outside in the cold winter air, while the hot springs work their magic. The buffet breakfast and dinner were incredible. The outside gardens and lights at night were stunning and magical. A fantastic place to stay.

    Cons -

    • I recommend finding the hotel to check in during the day. My sister and I arrived after dark and the ropeway wasn't running, a miscommunication with the bus driver left us missing the bus stop and having to back track in near pitch black.
    • Their support around transit options could be better — the hotel suggested to us we walk to a bus stop to get to Odawara train station when leaving the hotel, but the walk was incredibly rocky / snowy and not at all suitable for luggage (one of our bags is now damaged), would have appreciated better guidance or a shuttle. Also, food was just okay (many items were lukewarm and didn’t seem fresh)
    • Dining room/buffet:The sushi section for dinner time is not fresh especially the nirigi section. Need more work.Important things are, the plastic plates, bowls, spoons cups r dirty. Stain on them. Dine both time and both r the same. The kitchen staff need to pay more attention to those before serving them.

Dinner was great and loved the resort amenities.

The place was too warm to sleep as the air conditioning f had been turned to heat only.

Decent hotel in great location. Staff was welcoming and nice. Dinner was OK, good breakfast. Onsen was pretty simple - one outdoor pool, 1 inside, sauna. No cold plunge, no variety of temperature

I had high expectations for onsen that were not met. Dinner had a lot of choices but quality on bland site

Our family really enjoyed our overnight stay at Hotel Green Plaza Hakone - from the onsen to the Japanese & Western buffet dinner to the views of Mt. Fuji! The onsen was as expected, with a lovely outdoor area, and sauna inside. The food was delicious and my 8 & 10 year old kids loved picking out what they wanted to eat. Finally, we choose a traditional Japanese-style room for the experience, and the set up was great!

We had a great experience, with not much constructive feedback. Thanks to the Hotel for an excellent stay!

The hotel comes with Mt, Fuji view.

The facilities are a bit dated. The dinner buffet could have better presentation.

The property was a little bit old, and the heater was strong. So, it was a little bit frustrating at night. But, the staffs very friendly, the buffet for dinner and breakfast were good and the public bath onsen was excellent!

Fuji view in onsen and at room.

Buffet still less varieties and onsen is too small

GREAT location in Hakone as it was within walking distance of the Ropeway. We took a cab to the hotel from the Odawara station as we didn't want to lug our suitcases on public transit. The cab ride was about $60 for 3 people. There is a hotel shuttle service, which we only used twice going to the Ropeway. The dining was EXCEPTIONAL, whether for breakfast or dinner. It's worth the extra booking fee to include meals. We had a traditional Japanese style room and it was quite nice and yukatas were available to wear. I needed to pile up the futons to get a comfortable sleeping spot. If you can, book a room with a view (possible) of Mt. Fuji. We stayed 3 nights and on our day of departure we awoke to a beautiful view of the mountain. Within an hour, it was covered with clouds. Small souvenir shop onsite.

I didn't like the styling of the hotel; too European and not enough Japanese. English Garden, ceramic bunnies around, chandeliers.

Dinner was huge., im sure everybody will find something to enjoy., breakfast as well. Quality fresh food! :) From the onsen you can enjoy the majestic of Mount Fuji san.., it was very relaxing. The temperature of the outside pool was 40 - 42 C'!

I liked everything! Even though the building itself is not the newest, it has its charm!

Beautiful location with delicious dinner and breakfast option. Private bath experience was great.

Bathroom was dated but everything else outside of it made up for it.

    9ErikaPosted on: 11-1-2025

The onsen, the half board included, the private hot tube and the comfort of the room.

Maybe it’s a little old-fashionable hotel. If you arrive by public transport, check the buses beforehand.

Everything was great. Room, onsen, location. Dinner was just WOW. Personnel was super friendly! Great service overall! Shuttle service was very useful. Mt. Fuji view was just magnificent. Pictures in provided Yukata's (cotton summer kimono) added a lot to the fun.

I found the hotel itself to be a wonderful little spa destination. The rooms were very spacious, and the spa facilities were truly wonderful. I was also pleased that my room was clean and equipped with all the necessary amenities for my short-term stay. The staff was exceptional: they were consistently polite and courteous, making the check-in and check-out process effortless. I was particularly impressed with their professionalism in dealing with language barriers with such ease.As for the food, the all-you-can-eat buffet was, I'd say, only slightly average in quality. However, it was lightyears ahead of anything else I've encountered at similar establishments.

The main drawback for me was the hotel's location and accessibility. Reaching the hotel required multiple transfers between buses and trains. A number of these crucial transfers were not covered by my Hakone Free Pass, which meant I had to scramble for change frequently. I also found myself confused about where the various bus and train stops were located. To make future visits easier for guests, I'd strongly suggest the hotel arrange some sort of shuttle service—perhaps included in the price—or provide very clear directions on how to reach the hotel, especially when the cable car is out of service.

Nice peaceful location, very friendly staff, good buffet selection and clean.

It really needs updating and upgrading, especially the bathrooms. The pillows were terrible, it was like trying to sleep on a brick. We (all 4 of us) asked if they had any softer pillows, but they did not. We ended up using our rolled up jackets as pillows and all had restless sleep.
