Pros +
- All the staffs are professional and with sincere care of the customer. I sure the Clerk Manager (day time, for got his name) does a lot of training for their staffs. We enjoyed very much for this trip.
- Location with Lake Ashi on one side, bus stops on other side and cruise pier nearby; spacious and comfortable lakeside room with views of Mt Fuji; onsen with hot springs water and open ceiling for view of moon; breakfast options for vegetarians; welcome drink in lounge; front desk graciously helped me retrieve a lost item
- Very spacious rooms and beautiful hotel. The hotel staff were curtious and helpful with questions and luggage storage. Many activities for the lakeside hotel to enjoy
Cons -
- We booked this hotel because of the view. However the room smells bad and the shower curtain is dirty and smells. The breakfast was ok but they don't change table cloth after being used by previous customers, although it appears the table cloth is changed daily. The stuff at check out was very rude and almost had no communication with us after we said we are checking out. Not even say thank you and how was your stay. Totally unacceptable! We will not be return for sure.
- Meals were nothing special.
- Aircon waa centralised so it was warm for us. But window can be opened so it was not too bad

The lake view was good.

The facilities were beautiful, with 2 onsens on site, and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. The hotel was right on the lake, which was lovely to see in the morning, and conveniently right next to the sightseeing ship that left for the other 2 ports.
Meals were nothing special.
Fantastic view of Lake Ashi and Mt Fuji
Aircon waa centralised so it was warm for us. But window can be opened so it was not too bad
Location is right next to lake Ashi (lake is visible from window), onsen onsite, easy to park, convenience store in close proximity, close to Hakone shrine, english speaking and very polite staff
I like the view that able to see the sea from the hotel room, the onsen is also very nice in the hotel.
The hotel location suppose to be nice if the ship is still running, but that day when the time I came down from Owakudani, the ship already stopped, so me and my family had to take the long bus route to reach the hotel. It was a bit of a painful experience for us, as the whole trip took like more than 2 hours, because of the traffic and the long waiting time.
Right by the docks and great access.
Like all hotels, very dry in the room even with the humidifier on.

Beautiful lake view
A bit outdated rooms, but very clean.
The view is amazing! And its location is right next to pirate ship boat ride across lake Ashli. Walkable (2 miles) from famous Tori gate in n the lake and shrine with beautiful forest.
It’s a bit difficult to get to and from train station. The room had very bad smell The onsen bath and spa was very small and uninviting.
The views of the Lake and Mt Fuji (on a clear day). In close proximity to pirate cruise and bus station, as well as some restaurants.
Rooms are outdated but honestly still great property.
This is our second visit to Hakone hotel we chose again specifically to share it with our family who spent quite a bit more money to have two rooms (one for their children). We thought they would get one Japanese room, but did not. We found that the hotel had been remodeled since we were there in 2018. But the amenities have been quite reduced, and the service in the restaurants was not as good at all. The breakfast buffet had only half as many choices and no omelette station and the French dinner service was atrocious. They use trainees. But the food was very good
We had to ask for a heater for each of the three rooms, because it was so cold and we could not adjust the temperature properly. We ordered French prefix dinner for six of us and the service was done by a trainee who failed to pour us water unless we asked, did not lay napkins, took away all of my silverware, but nobody else’s and left me with just chopsticks for the whole meal, which was French. Then my son ordered a larger cut of meat for his prefix and he didn’t get it and the waitress disagreed with him. We had white fluffy robes and kimono robes in the room which was lakefront, but when the maids came in and took all the linens, they took our robes and didn’t replace them . We asked for a late check out. They want to charge us ¥2200 per person for one hour.
The hotel was actually nicer than in the pictures. The room was spotless, well equipped, and the bed was very comfortable. The views of the lake from the bedroom were absolutely beautiful. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming, and I really appreciated the complimentary welcome drink.
Nothing really. If I had to suggest something, it would be to add a bit more decoration to the garden area facing the lake and to improve the breakfast selection, a few more options would be appreciated for the price paid. But again, not a complaint.
Breakfast was amazing - so much food! Our view was the most spectacular view of Lake Ashi seen via our portrait window. I enjoyed the hot bath each day in the spa area.
Nice location, good outdoor and views.
Limited options for breakfast, and things are expensive.
This is a true gem in Hakone, right on the edge of Lake Ashinoko. You can indulge in breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji — though, as with all things in nature, it depends on the clouds, and you might be lucky enough to catch it in all its glory. The pirate ship terminal is right next to the property, providing easy access to the ropeway. We also enjoyed the Teppanyaki, featuring the best wagyu beef we’ve ever had — and this isn’t our first trip to Japan, so we can confidently say it truly was the best.
Extraordinary experience at the hotel.Me and my family have enjoyed our time, nice and quiet area, wonderful location with view at the lake, nice restaurant, relaxing onsen (public bath) and for sure lovely and helpful staff.
Staff were very professional and happy to assist with anything. Great location next to the cruise terminal . The lake is superb in the early mornings with glimpses and views of Fuji in the distance . The in house onsens were clean and well maintained .
