- if you like simple - this is the place for you. if you like more comfort - then maybe not.
- The hot water from our bathroom sink’s faucet was extremely hot — I almost got burned when I touched it.

The couple that run the place are extremely helpful and well organized. Thanks to them we had easy-to-use transportation. The onsen was really hot and relaxing, free for 50 mins ,private.
The owners were wonderful and very helpful. The husband drove us to our first destination and also to the station at the end with our luggage. Saved us a lot of back aches lugging around luggage. The accommodation was comfortable. Futons were great to sleep on. Outdoor onsen was also very nice to use.Overall the owners left a warm mark on the trip and we hope to stay here again next time.
Nothing. Everything was perfect
Simple and friendly family Ryokan. The staff is very friendly. gave us the full tour, drove us to dinner in a local restaurant. The in-house Onsen is beautiful and fun.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The hosts were so generous and personable and even though we were there for a short time they really gave us individual attention. Lovely onsen
We loved the location and the owners of the ryokan are wonderful. When we indicated our desire to find a restaurant they suggested a few including an Italian restaurant. It was raining and dark so the husband, who is also older, drove us to the restaurant and even made the reservation for us (actually his wife made the reservation). Without their help to get the reservation we would not have been able to eat there since normally they did not accept reservations so late. The restaurant by the way, had excellent food. When we returned we used their onsen (hot spring) which was fantastic. We slept on a type of mattress on the floor covered by a futon. Overall it was a great experience and we hope to go back some day.
Traditional Japenese styled rooms, with a very comfortable private outdoor onsen (tattoo friendly). It was my best stay in Japan by far.
The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, making our stay feel truly special! They even provided a good luck charm and map upon check-in, and kindly dropped us off at the bus station after we checked out. The private onsen located on the lower floor was lovely and made for a good experience. Thank you very much for your warm hospitality!
The hot water from our bathroom sink’s faucet was extremely hot — I almost got burned when I touched it.
The hosts were exceptionally accommodating and kind. Also, the downstairs onsen is well designed. If I were to return to Hakone, I would stay here again.
Some of the building supports are about 6' off the ground, so be cautious if you are 5'10" or taller.
We loved the nearness to town, but far enough away from the main drag, you really felt like you were immersed in the town. The ability to use either of the onsens privately was fabulous. And the owners were SO amazing. They made sure we had reservations at local restaurants and drove us there if we needed it. Our room was quite large, with a traditional tatami room for tea/relaxing/eating takeout. And the beds were very comfortable.
Everything was great.
Very friendly hosts, authentic traditional experience
A bit off central hakone, but worth it
Decent location and free parking if you coordinate with the owners beforehand. Speaking of them, the couple that owned the establishment was very enthusiastic and took great care of us. They rub off as in your face though if you're not used to it! On top of that, the place has two onsens that you can visit whenever and make private by locking the door. The water is clean and very hot. Futons were nice and fluffy.
Although the price was great and the owners were amazing, the age of the facilities show. It's a very old house repurposed for tourists. The room could've been cleaner, and the second floor onsen was quite dirty in appearance.
The property was clean, authentic, and inviting. The host/owners were incredible, very kind and generous people. The second we arrived, they helped with our bags, explained what to do and eat in the area, even offered to pick up some food for us at a nearby restaurant. They made our stay extra good and pleasant. The onsun was perfect and calming, we had an amazing stay and experience.
The property itself is located in a nice part of Hakone, and it’s well furnished with lots of beautiful decorations. The onsen is wonderful and the accommodations were amazing as well. The sleeping mat and tatami mats were so comfortable. Most of all, the owners are wonderful and went out of their way to help us all the time. Whether it was giving us umbrellas, calling up places to check when they open, giving us advice on where to visit, providing maps of popular spots, or even walking us to the restaurant we planned to go to, they were absolutely amazing and kind. If i would choose anywhere to stay in Hakone again, I would stay here.
Amazing host that went above and beyond to make our stake comfortable. He was incredibly welcoming and helped us on multiple occasions, impacting really positively our stay in Hakone. The onsen, particularly the outside one, were charming and it was the first time we could do an onsen as a family.
Having a private shower would have been a big plus. The stay was relatively expensive and cash only.
The host were so welcoming and kind! They went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable. This was truly an authentic Japanese inn.
Some of the facilities are older, but it is overall charming.
Amazing experience in a traditional ryokan, most amazing hosts we had during our trip in Japan. Two private Onsen in the facility, we loved our stay here
Run by a great couple who even drove us to Gora Park and the local train station. Room was large and the onsen was great.
