    Pros +

    • Decent location, very clean, big rooms
    • Staff were so kind and the location was beautiful
    • The hotel is very centrally located in Hakone. It's a short walk to the train station or anywhere else in town. Breakfast consists of a pre-prepared plate with bacon, sausage, salad, soup, and coffee. You don't choose what you get; you have to select one of the available breakfast slots upon arrival. The hotel's onsen (hot springs) are beautiful!

    Cons -

    • The shower was a little bit confusing on what was right setting for consistent temperature
    • Maybe I did something wrong. But it would have been nice to be able to choose my own breakfast. There was only bacon and sausages – very meat-heavy and rather unhealthy. I prefer vegetables or fruit for breakfast. But I wasn't offered any other options. It also would have been nice if the heating in the room had been on. We had -6 degrees Celsius at night. And the remote control was in Japanese. I eventually managed it with Google Translate, though.
    • There's no elevators so carrying luggage up and down the stairs is a little hard.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The on site Onsen was an incredible joy! The breakfast was the best we have had in Japan.

About 10-15 minute walk from the station along a pretty river. The hotel is in a three buildings that mix rooms with private apartments. Our rooms were across the courtyard. The corridor was spartan but the rooms were a good size - one was an upgrade that was really a family room with a large estranged tatsami space. There are two onsens. One off the courtyard with men and women's onsen and one on the roof of one building. Both were great and not busy. There is a breakfast cafe but we did not use it. Overall efficient and comfortable and good value.

Loved the indoor and outdoor hot springs available.

There's no elevators so carrying luggage up and down the stairs is a little hard.

Great food, staff, and location! The traditional Japanese Tatami mat floors are very nice!

    7TanyaPosted on: 4-30-2025

Spacious rooms. Indoor and outdoor onsen. The staff were lovely.

The rooms could be updated a little, but this adds to the charm. No restaurant on site except for breakfast.

    7RobertPosted on: 4-26-2025

Very large airy room, clean and comfortable.

Servicing of rooms and does not occur during multi night stays (replacement towels provided outside the room on a daily basis). I have no issue with not changing the linen, but a vacuum and emptying of bins is required. No clothes washing machine/dryer available for use by guests. Warning there is no lift.

    7doreenPosted on: 4-23-2025

size of the room was large for Japan, Onsen larger and nicely appointed for a hotel onsen.

    7MelaniePosted on: 4-22-2025

The rooms were clean and spacious. Amenities were provided with comfortable night wear yukatas. Bed was big and king size, unlike the other places we stayed In Japan

    We liked it all

    8ChloePosted on: 4-16-2025

We loved the location of this hotel! You could hear the river at night, and the outdoor onset was beautiful! The rooms were actually big for Japan..the only complaint were the beds being too hard. But we would definitely stay again!

    10NicholasPosted on: 4-15-2025

Good location for exploring the area. Free on site Onsen.

It can be quite hard to find somewhere to eat locally in the evening.

    Beautiful location and property

I am a big guy and all the doors were very short the provided kimonos for the onsen were way to small i know the Japanese are small but larger options should be available for 6” guy with size 13 feet other than that the onsen was great

    8KaiPosted on: 3-14-2025

Closes to the station and main street. Decent onsen

No lift, so less mobile people should check their accommodation before booking.

    7RosemaryPosted on: 3-7-2025

Staff were super friendly and helpfulNice, traditional style hotelGreat hot spring bathing pools for guests Constant supply of fresh towels

The rooms have traditional wooden flooring which meant I had lots of noise from the guests above on one night. Also, the floor makes the room quite cold, needed heating on all the time.

    1. Great indoor and outdoor hot public bath (onsen).2. Staff assistance in bringing up 4 floors our luggage as there is no elevator.

    10DanielaPosted on: 3-4-2025

The staff was simply amazing. Greeting from Romania, you were very kind with us. The location wonderful, the onsen perfect, you have everything there, from hair brush to makeup remover. The room very specious, really enjoyed the traditional tee table with tatami. I loved the yukata in the room for onsen. The breakfast very good. We simply enjoyed our staying here. 100% recommend it.

    9KokPosted on: 2-1-2025

    Clean and convenient.

No elevator and we had to climb up 4 storeys to rooms. They were good to change our room the next day one at the second floor.

    9LeonPosted on: 2-1-2025

It was a bit far from Hakone Yumoto Station, but the hotel offers a shuttle service, which may be helpful for some guests. The hotel also provides several onsite hot spring options, saving you the hassle of searching for other providers if you're short on time. We enjoyed our room, which was a spacious blend of Western and Washitsu styles. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even turning on the air conditioning before our arrival, a thoughtful touch, especially during a typical Japanese winter.

Overall, it was a great experience. However, the room we stayed in was not accessible by elevator. Fortunately, the staff assisted with our luggage upon check-in, but we had to carry it downstairs ourselves when checking out, something to keep in mind if you're traveling with heavy bags. The room was comfortable but could benefit from renovations to create a more contemporary setting. Some visitors to the onsen were not following the rules, so clearer instructions may be needed to ensure proper etiquette.
