Awa Resort Koh Chang

The location was great and walking distance to street markets.

Unfortunately the photos on the website were way outdated. The room was disgusting and had foot print marks on seat cushions. The flooring had various colors of painting and stains. The lights in the bathroom were dimmed. Ended up checking out early.

- the beach is very nice- the massages on the beach- the staff is very nice (all of them)

- our original room was on the hillside. DO NOT BOOK there, it is not clearly stated but it's in another building on the other side of the road and it feels like a motel over there. The staff was nice enough to understand and move us to the main facility - lack of maintenance (but I feel most of the hotels on the island are like that)- my room was very very dark, the lights were also very dark. I would say the entire hotel lacks lights which can be depressing- the towels were overused

Really nice welcome at reception, got shown to a very nice room, with all toiletries ,towels,pool towels etc. Best bed in Thailand, amazing. Cleaner came in every day, kept very clean, light ing a little citronella lamp was a nice touch. Plenty of salad leaves,onions,veggies,cooked Thai food curries, rice, noodles etc so if your not fussy, you can eat, Cleanliness and reception was excellent.

Negatives, nowhere near enough sunbeds for a resort this size, breakfast wasn't the best, western selection is poor, ham, eggs any way, cereals, chicken sausage... No cooked tomatoes, beans,bacon etc. So if you struggle with Thai food,it's limited choice. It's a very relaxed place as not on the beach, you have to go down steps to access the sea. A few sunbeds next to sea wall, but again nowhere near enough for resort size.

we didn't know that hotel was spilt by the road. the mountain view room is horrible. Towels are not replaced. We asked for new ones and had to wait for hours. The maid said that they don't have enough. Then, we got one with holes in it

The TV did not work. Asked 5 times to solve the problem. No solution. This is NOT expected at that hotel.

Nice hotel and amenities. Location was ideal for eating out and hiring mopeds/getting to the beach

starting to look run down also i found there were not enough staff where staff needed to be. plenty of staff in reception however around the pool and breakfast not enough staff to service the customers.

for the money they charge its a bit dissapointing, needs a small refit as you can now see that the maintance is lacking .

Beautiful hotel with good decoration and a wide selection of breakfast.

Although the hotel is next to the sea, but there is no beach to stroll around.

It has direct access to the sea, and a long private pool. A smorgasbord style breakfast every morning gives the energy boost for the day.

The pool closes at 8PM which is a bit early, they could prolong it to at least 9PM.

Perfect location in Koh Chang, big and clean room with refrigerator, good aircon, comfertable bed with duvet and the best breakfast with several options. Highligly recommend staying at Awa resort.

Every thing was perfect.

Liked the comfortable rooms, good size and well furnished. Breakfast was great nice staff and great selection.Overall feel of the hotel was relaxed and friendly Children and adults enjoyed the pool. Only thing which is good to know before booking this hotel is the beach. Frontage of the beach for the hotel is rocky so swimming is not easy and especially at low tide but you can walk to a sandy beach close by to the hotel.

Rooms were clean, staff tried their best to help out, and a happy hour that goes from 1pm to 9pm was really enjoyable. They also featured special events some evening that were really entertaining. The pool was an excellent way to refresh most days. Excellent location, close to several beaches and good restaurants.

Breakfast was good but unimaginative. Same meal almost everyday with the only thing changing was the Thai dishes. Rooms are a little outdated and could use some proper maintenance. Having said that, we did come at the end of the tourist season there, so that may be one of the reasons.

Misleading photos make belive that the hotel is a single block. It isn't a single block, it's two blocks and the second block is across the street and a 5 minute walk to the main amenities. The second block doesn't have a swimming pool and for sure you can't get any view of the sea. I was told because the hotel was fully booked I couldn't change to a different room (they had another room available in the same block but had the same issues described previously). Incredibly difficult to get a refund from the hotel (only got a partial refund). I would avoid this place, you can get better properties for the same price range nearby. The staff was really lovely so it breaks my heart to give a negative review to the hotel.

The staff were so nice and helpful! The pool was awesome way to start the day and end the day after the day of activities.

I loved everything, I’ll definitely be staying here when I’m back in koh chang again.

I don’t know why people complaining here, we stay with three couples and nobody had issues. (Hillside) only 5 minutes walk to breakfast ? Rooms are big and clean, breakfast is huge! Last year we stayed another hotel on koh chang (5*) higher price but i will come back to Awa resort every time when i will stay in koh chang.Staff is friendly and smiling, also the clean womens..

Beware the bait and switch! Photos only show the water side so you think you're on the water. Most of the rooms are on the other side of the road in another building. It took 7 minutes to walk from our room to the breakfast area, pool and water/fake beach. I requested a refund for 2 of the 3 nights but the hotel didn't even respond to Booking.com's request. Cleaning staff was terrible too. They didn't replace towels, body wash, etc. The only good thing was that the beds are soft.

Staff is friendly and helpful

Very old room, mold and dust. Very bad air conditioner. Old facilities. Not as good as on the pictures and does not worth the money they ask for it.
