Chang Buri Resort & Koh Chang Hillside

We stayed in the Chang Hillside across from the Chang Buri. It has a very nice pool and is only steps away from the beach. Excellent pool beside the beach with great sitting and lounge area on the sea side. Breakfast was good and included with the stay. Great location to white sand beach where the majority of the action is on Koh Chang. Macro grocery store next door and a 7/11 right in front for all your food and beverage needs. Staff were very welcoming and super friendly.

Shower had some mold, room a bit musty

The location it’s at the right end of white sand beach and the view and staging out on to the ocean is perfect to sit eat and chill as the sun drops out of the sky

The lack of sea view from the suites by the roadside and also workmen repairing decking in the day time very loud

January 2026: Stayed at the Chang Buri Resort in a Seaside Deluxe Room w/ Bathtub. 100% happy with our choice. Excellent price point. Property is outstanding - beautiful grounds and pool and lounge area. Very well-kept and attended to. Room had a queen bed which is rare in Ko Chang. Nice balcony. Great A/C. Safe and fridge were great. Great Wi-fi. Breakfast was very good - omelette bar, hot Thai dinner food, toast, cereals, yogurts, waffles, and salads. Location was outstanding! No beach in front so no people/crowds, but close walking distance to the main beach with all restaurants and bars for the evening. If you do not want to rent a scooter and risk your life on the crazy hills and bends of Ko Chang roads north and south of this area, this is the place to stay!There is a small bar on the property in the pool lounge area. Infinity pool is a nice touch along with all the little animal statues, planters and big trees. Free kayaks with life jackets too.The staff were amazing - very happy, polite and respectful. Helpful with any room concerns or fixes - prompt and courteous. Helped with a car rental very efficiently, and ability to book tours also.Would definitely stay here again if we return to Koh Chang!

Nothing - if you are a “mint on your pillow” five star tourist, don’t stay here. Rooms are really nice, clean and nicely appointed, but are basic and considering the price point, is a great value!

This place was quite nice, rooms are spacious, pools are nice. Beach is right there but very rocky, better walk a bit from the street into the sandier part of white sand beach. Breakfast was nice however no halal options or chicken ham/sausage only pork. Supermarkets and restaurants as well as shopping close by in a walking distance.

Cleaning wasnt too good, the cleaning lady missed too many things and some days she didnt bother to clean even.

Property is in a great location! Access to pools on the main side as well as mountainside! Right beside two 711’s many restaurants and bars as well as supermarket! Rooms are clean, excellent buffet breakfast and amazing spot for sunset! Highly recommend!

No beach but many around to walk to White sands or scooter closely to others!

The big pool is excellent beautiful views at sunset and we were there it was not crowded at all..

Chairs and furniture are breaking and falling apart they need to upgrade and replace things that have been there for a lot of years now..

The location great pools. White sand beach first stop after ferry. Good restaurants. Good breakfast with seaside view. Very big rooms with balcony on the old building.

Beach towels are frailed. Need to be renewed.

The air conditioning and safe are a bit hit and miss.

Hotel was a little dated - Hillside could do with some modernisation. Both pools were very good. No immediate beach close by, 5 mins walk north. Staff were friendly.

Big spacious room, with a nice balcony. The hotel is very beautiful, need some maintenance but still very nice.Good breakfast and good location.

The stairs to the ocean was too slippery and we couldn’t swim in the ocean as we wanted.

Breakfast choice was good. They could cover the fruit though. Staff in the breakfast room were friendly as too the cleaning staff around the property. The hillside section needs a bit of remedial work. The pool is good but the little bar there was unmanned all the time so was not used.

The location was NOT on the beach….unless you consider a rock wall a beach.The breakfasts were a huge disappointment. Although they had a nice variety nothing was warm or hot! When I asked about putting some candles under the chaffing dishes to keep things warm …all I got was a shrug. In other words ,”we don’t really care!”.Also more attention required to keep the grounds tidy….lots of cigaret butts near hillside pool…..and some garbage.

We have stayed here a few times now and have just booked again to stay in May/June. The rooms are spacious, lovely and bright and the bed is very comfortable. We stay Hillside with a view over the pool and the mountains.Breakfast is great with a large variety of food to choose from. Staff are polite and friendly and always greet you with a smile. Pool areas are clean and well maintained and there are steps down into the sea with loungers along the shore.It would be great if there were more sun loungers added to the Hillside pool as the few that are there get snapped up early in the morning.

This property is beautiful. The infinity pool is amazing. The beach is rocky in front of the hotel but an nice sandy beach just a short walk away. The breakfast was great with a good selection every morning. The room is spacious was cleaned everyday. The deck was nice to sit outside when it rained. Great restaurants in the area.

Beds are typical Thai beds, a little hard.

The pools are amazing, and the loungers are of excellent quality. Breakfasts are generally good. The staff is very friendly, always smiling and ready to help. We rented a car from the hotel, and everything went smoothly. There’s a massage place and a 7-Eleven conveniently nearby. The combination of forest, pools, beach, and cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for a peaceful getaway.

The place could use some minor renovations.
