AANA Resort & Villas Koh Chang

The room and swimming pool old and Very dirty. The price was high compared what we got. The restaurant upstairs in the hill no comfortable with baby. Don't go to this hotel!

We love the room where we stayed on the top floor. Wake up in the morning we can see the mountain. The staff in the restaurant are very nice and friendly.

Our first time experience was much better . This is our second time and we didn't like it. 1) no service on the beach, on chair .2) no hotel manager to talk to when we have problems. Overall we will not go back to this hotel.

The resort is in a peaceful riverfront location surrounded by a tropical garden. Our rooms had large balconies where we could enjoy a relaxing nightcap together after dinner.

We found that the staff were very slow filling up the breakfast items on our second morning there.Also our rooms were not made up on our second day there.

The room was comfortable.

I don’t even know where to start. If it would be a 2/3 stars resort and for a cheaper price, it would be ok. But for the price we pay and for a 4 star resort it didn’t meet the expectations. The room itself was ok, the day we checked in it was clean and organized, but we had a 5 days stay and they never changed the bedsheets. The towels they only changed because at some point I had to put them on the floor. The resort itself it’s sad to watch. Nothing it’s taken care of, the facilities look abandoned. We were at the pool 2 times, no towels available. Poolbar without staff. Tried to call because they have a menu there, phone is not working. The staff was ok, but they looked unmotivated. One day we left the room around 9am, we came back at 2pm and they still didn’t clean it. Overall, it was an “ok” experience. If I would recommend it for a friend or family? No.

The place is old but well maintained. I loved spending time at the restaurant by the side of the estuary and both the pools. The room was nice too.

Absolute gorgeous hotel resort. Beautiful architecture, lots of details, beautiful rooms and views. Absolute best value for your money. 100% recommend

Wifi didn‘t work in the room and also around the resort only in a few places. Otherwise all perfect.

Lovely location and great room over looking the pool and a very spacious room at that.

The pool was under maintenance and was dirty prior so that we had to complain about the edges of the pool not being mopped.

I loved how I had every single thing right in the Hotel, I could do quite a lot of activities which integrated my experience at the hotel further.

The front desk was a bit down, or not as energetic. Sometimes I requested things on the phone, and their service men didn’t come for example.

The price is very good, also the property looks nice even though it’s very old. Nice territory, villas are comfortable

Staff at the reception is not nice at all, but welcome to Thailand, also I requested a room with partial Lakeview; and they gave me a room that looking at the roof, also there was construction in the morning. When we asked to change, it, turned out that they had other rooms with the view I requested., and they were ready to move me, so why didn’t give me this room at first place if it was available? Logic doesn’t work here.

Everything is very nice about the property. It's clean, great ambience, good location, etc.

I expected the staff to be a little more helpful and friendly. Also, basic toiletries were not available at the property.

The property looks beautiful even though old, villas are clean and spacious, all the amenities are nice, I think maybe they had small renovation, good value for money. It was peaceful and quiet there.

The staff wasn’t nice, especially lady in the reception, I think Thai people need to learn to be more friendly and nice, also my request for Lakeview was ignored instead they gave me villa with a view on another roof and my friends that I traveled with got Lakeview even though they didn’t request it, when my friends saw my room they were very disappointed so we called the reception, and reception said: we have a few more villas available. One of them was next to my friends Villa with lake view, so my question was why didn’t they give it to me in first place? Where is the logic? If it it’s available, why giving me a roof view? Not smart.

Peaceful, clean, beautiful, and natural, pleasing to the eye, so I chose this place.

The staff are lovely and provide good service, but the management system is still bad. My friends and I went with 5 families, 20 people. We made a reservation a long time ago before we went. Stayed for 3 nights, arrived at the pool 1, the water so green and quite dirty, the kids still got to swim. But the next morning, the hotel put up a sign saying the pool would be closed for three days for cleaning. It's so stupid, why didn't they clean it earlier? The breakfast is also very little and basic. Not worth the money they spent.

Hotel restaurant at dinner time has good food but very small portions for the price. Breakfast buffet is good food and good value. Just wish dinner menu portions were bigger

The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast good, the rooms nice and in a relaxing location alongside river.

As others have said the resort itself is aged and in need of some maintenance and upgrading.The pool also looked a green murky colour.That said this is all reflected in the price so I suppose you get what you pay for.

Initially lovely - room was nice, great pool in the room, good setting though 20 minute walk to shop, nice riverside main pool.

Lack of facilities but the illusion that they should exist. Eg buildings for pool bar but nothing else, stools in the pool for the bar but no bar, empty towel hut next to the pool, nowhere to easily buy a drink/ice cream. So in terms of facilities there was the pool, and a boat to the beach. Kayaks you have to pay for. No evidence of SUP boards despite the pictures suggesting there are. Could be an absolutely lovely place but feels a bit like a ghost town. Was looking for alternative places to stay which is never a good sign (though did stay the 4 nights we had booked)

Breakfast was good. Hotel was beautiful. Our room stunning. Boat shuttle to beach very handy. Pools both very nice. Cleaning staff very efficient. If we asked reception for something it was done immediately.

Staff not particularly friendly on checking in. No explanation about property and facilities. The resort is beautiful but sadly let down by a few things. Huge pool bar but not open. Spa and gym not open. Very disappointed by this.

We’ve been staying at the Aana since 2012 this was our first visit back in 5 years, still love the hotel but the location has slightly changed and is more built up than it used to be not sure if the beach was owned by the Aana and they’ve sold the land for other hotels to build there as between the Aana and Klong Prato there are 3 small hotels having been built which makes the beach busier and nosier as the bridge that the Aana built has more traffic for people to access these hotels.We absolutely love the location of the hotel hence why we’ve returned but not sure if Koh Chang I’d for us anymore, the hotel we went to on Koh Mak offered more in the way of breakfast and free kayak

The price was good, but you also get what you are paying for. I have no complaints about the cleaning, but the rooms are not sound isolated so you can hear your neighbours. It is only possible to buy snacks and drinks from other places than the restaurant which has a limited selection and is expensive.The breakfast is no really interesting compared to other hotels. Pillows are very big and the air condition was too cold.Asked for an extra umbrella at the pool since they were all taken but that was not possible. That is the level of service you get for the price. The hotel is in genera a little worn down but is surrounded by beautiful nature.

Room needs work. No access to the beach unless you take a boat. All photos of rooms have not been updated to how they look now in person. So disappointed I checked out after 1 night and went to a beach resort down the road
