The Retreat Koh Chang, an SLH Hotel

The room is as beautifully designed, the whole architecture of the hotel was amazing. Staff really helpful. Loved the pool and gym.

I have a milk allergy and tried to explain this to staff for breakfast but don’t think they understood. Kept being given food with dairy in it.

Absolutely perfect. Worth each penny (Baht). Perfect modern and well designed rooms. A special big compliment and thank you to the amazing staff who made everything to provide great service and to make our stay enjoyable.

What I dislike is the numerous families with smalll kids and even babies with whom you are forced to share the pool. Unfortunately it is impossible to enjoy the fantastic pool and sunbeds due to noisy families which use the entire area as playground. I have a completely different understanding of a hotel named "the retreat" and would be willing to pay more if this was an adults only hotel. I can therefore not recommend this place for couples or singles who are seeking the tranquility. Nonetheless a big compliment and thank you to the amazing staff.

This was the best Resot I have ever been to.I do fancy holidays every year but the Retreat was without a doubt the best Hotel I ever visited.Firstly this place is aesthetic as fuck. Perfectly designed, beautiful plants everywhere and just a very very nice vibe where you always feel private.The Breakfast: Absolutely Amazing. You get to choose between more than 3 Pages of Gournet Breakfast choices which all taste delicious! The View is also perfect!The Personal is very friendly and you feel very welcomed.Room: Absolutely perfect.Location: Right in the Center where you need to be.Just overall a perfect experience.We from Room 816 thank you guys for this amazing Experience.Kindest Regards,Aramas

To be really honest - Nothing. It was probably the closest encounter to a perfect holiday I ever had.

Fantastic atmosphere with very attentive staff. The breakfast was outstanding as was the dinner. The dinner was a little expensive compared with the local area but the dinning experience was worth it. The room was lovely, we had a corner pool access room.

No beach

Overall our stay at The Retreat was great.The staff at this hotel is amazing. Really nice, proactive and helpful.The place is beautifully designed. It was great to work from here. Good wifi and a quiet lounge area where you can have free water and coffee.

"The Retreat" is right next to a Muay Thai stadium. During our 4 nights stay, each evening we heard loud music until around midnight. Altough the staff assured us every day that the next day it would be quiet, it never was. Also the rooms are not very well isolated, which means if the neighbours watch television or speak loudly, or if there is anything going on outside like strong winds, then you will hear it.That was not what we expected from a hotel with this name.Furthermore:The Fitness area is small with almost only cardio devices.The king sized bed is smaller as it should be.There is no direct access to the beach, which was a bit disappointing. You can see the beach next door, but you cannot access it from the hotel and need to walk for 5-10 minutes to get there, or take the hotel's free shuttle.We booked this hotel because of its promising name 'Retreat' - we like calm, adult places. Due to its location in a very touristic loud area our expectations were not completely satisfied.

Luxurious hotel with great atmosphere. The room, and especially the bed was amazing! Wonderful staff.

The coffee in the room was not good enough, and they should avoid using air freshener and overly perfumed products in the rooms.

The AC in my room was too loud.

It's quiet place with limited rooms and even when fully booked not crowded, a la card breakfast at any time from 7am to late pm, comfortable rooms, many other restaurants in walking distance, very friendly staff, nice pool, fantastic view on sunsets

No beach or easy access to the sea, from time to time loud music from nearby Thai-boxing arena, price for drinks at bar/restaurant

Truly exceptional hotel, beautiful location and rooms with brilliant staff. A little island of tranquility but still very close to lots of bars and restaurants

Beautiful hotel, great location for ealking to waterfalls, viewpoints, and great restaurants.Hotel has a great team super food and breakfast was amazing as all cooked to order.We will certainly be back.

Only negative would be no beach, but to be fair has a stunning pool and you can always walk to a near beach.

I will summarize my impression of the hotel in one word; Wow! Upon first meeting the wonderful staff, I felt welcome. The interior, the exterior, the location and the food are also top quality. And sitting in the restaurant and enjoying breakfast with a sea view was worth the stay alone.

Fantastic breakfast, where we could choose as much as we wanted from an a la carte menu. I guess they offered instead of a buffet as it was low season.

The waitress K. Vee was super nice and accommodating. What I didn’t like was the fact that the food wasn’t freshly prepared but rather warmed up only.

Super clean. Super friendly and helpful staff. The direct pool access. Nice, comfortable and perfectly clean rooms. Super delicious all day breakfast a la carte. Would definitely choose this place again on Koh Chang
