Hotel Best Sol D´Or

Perfect location, nice hotel, comfortable and clean beds and delicious food ? Staff was always helpfull and kind to us. Highly recommended.

Our family enjoyed the pool and the water slides. The hotel was 3 minutes walk to the beach and bus stop to Tarragona. The hotel rents bikes with baby chairs which we took advantage of to go to Salou (15 minutes bike ride on mostly bike paths). The are nicer beaches in Salou.

We had only the breakfast included. The buffet was really generous; a lot of choices, but the food was average, but there were fresh fruits, eggs cook on demand and fresh bread.

All good except the kids entertainment was too late at 9.30pm. Could do with being earlier.

Location was great, friendly and helpful staff overall good value for money.

Plates, cups, glasses and servicing was not being washed properly before being provided to guests

Bad and unhealthy breakfastToo touristy. We went out to have breakfast and we were shocked to see the price for a coffee with a croissant( 9,30 euros) , more expensive than London. We stay in Tarragona old town and we paid 2,30 for a coffee and croissant . That's the normal price all around Spain. Most of the bars around that area try to overcharge us... Terrible.

View, location, nice and friendly staff, especially the receptionist Irina was wonderful, cleanliness, water slides in the pool,

there is no animation as such, especially for children, no gym, the staff does not speak English well, the food in the restaurant is often undercooked, the dishes are poorly washed and there is not enough cutlery

Very dirty!!!!Rooms, and plates, cups, glasses all!!If someone switch TV you’ll know about it very good!

Evening entertainment was good for kids, location was good nice and quiet but close to what you need

Breakfast wasn’t the best, staff weren’t very helpful , all pools bar the baby pool was freezing cold, entertainment started slightly too late. I think a 9pm start would be good.

It was very nice that the room was cleaned every day, for the child it was good that there was a pool with slides. The hotel is generally good and close to the beach.

there is a lot of Spanish, it makes you think that the hotel is only for people who speak Spanish. I would like the evening program to be conducted based on all tourists. the pool is only open until 7 and it is a bit sad. from 7 to 9, unfortunately, you can neither sunbathe near the pool nor swim and there is almost no entertainment.

Staff were amazing and friendly and the atmosphere was very family friendly overall. Pool was excellent and lifeguards on duty at all times.Busy in the dinning area but staff manage it well.

The location was perfect. Close to the sea,bars, and restaurants. Rooms were cleaned daily, which was nice. Slides in the pool were a great fun for kids to enjoy.

Our air-conditioning had an awful smell when it was turned on and with the heat you need it on. I suggested to staff to check it for us but no one really cared. I found stuff not really helpful.The pool was very busy with families and children.It was impossible to get beds by the pool as the minute pool opened at 10am there was a queue with people to put down their towels for the day.Poor entertainment in the evening, which lasted one hour mostly for small kids.

The pool and slides are perfect for children , we travelled with our 2 year old daughter and it had absolutely everything she could need. We loved it. No issues getting a sun lounger which makes a huge difference. The range of food included was great, we had breakfast and lunch included each day and no issues choosing from a range of foods.

Possibly more bar and serving staff as when the que was long it was very slow and then tables ended up becoming cluttered with rubbish and the floor very sticky

Slides were amazing for our little girls! They loved the pool it was the highlight of the day. Modern hotel - reception area was lovely. Good location right by the beach, some nice shops and restaurants on the beach front. We really enjoyed the kids entertainment at night!

The food was awful. We stuck to chips and cheese toasties if we were really hungry, which was really inconvenient as we had kids with us and would liked to have eaten at the hotel. Luckily we didn’t go all inclusive, but we did try the breakfast one morning and it was crazy busy. Really dirty tables, food everywhere. Pastries were dry, plates were dirty, meat undercooked (we were warned about this at the pool by other families). Safe to say we ate out.

Property was very well located. Only down side is night entertainment is very poor and 98% of it is in Spanish. Not allowed to even eat a bag of crisps by the pool and no floating devices allowed in the pool either. Rooms weren’t swept each day either. Food was nice and variety was good.

I liked the room. The bathroom was big enough, beds were comfy. Staff members were really friendly and helpfull. Cleaning ladys were doing a very good job. I liked the pool because it had sildes for little ones, my 4 years old was exited to spend a lot of time in the pool. The hotel was clean inside and outside. When my daughter was not well, I had the option to go a hospital or have a doctor coming to the hotel...which it was helpful. The hotel is close to the beach and bus station. We traveled to Barcelona and local area. It was a good holiday. Thank you.

I definitely will improve on playground area. Only on swing and a slide. My son was not well for a few day and we avoided going to beach or pool. We spend some time at the hotel and the swing was always busy...Breakfast was almost the same every morning, but not really an issue for us. For the rest of the days I found enough food options.My kids complained about No Ice cream ( again not an issue for me) they had some type of yogurt with flavour..but not really ice cream.

Late check out option advertised, but hotel couldn't provide this service, have child aged 3 , had to wait 6 hours with him , he couldn't sleep, it's not family hotel, poor quality of food, dining room is too small, had to wait every day ques to restaurant.Waste of 2600 euro, ruined kids holidays.Dont book, stay away!

Bad

This was a horrible hotel. The room smelt of cigarette smoke when we got there, the bed sheets smelt terrible like they hadn’t been changed. We complained at reception and were told someone would clean the room but they never did. We were located on the ground floor at the end of a dark dingy corridor near a fire exit. Balcony’s are adjacent to a gate which goes on to some back streets. My sons football was stolen from the balcony, my partners hat was stolen and put in someone else’s room to replace another persons hat that was stolen. When my partner asked at reception about his hat going missing the lady at reception told him what happened and didn’t seem bothered by it at all. On our final night of the 4 nights we stayed there I didn’t sleep, because someone was in the corridor all night, creeping around and opening and closing the fire exit door. I heard what sounded like duct tape noises and was on the verge of calling the police until the noises eventually stopped and morning came. When it came to check out I went to speak to the manager about all these issues and he couldn’t care less. They have no cameras other than in reception and the bar. The ground floor rooms are creepy and the hotel seemed very dodgey. The bar staff are rude don’t serve you and give dirty looks if you are English. Do not stay here it was horrendous and I did not feel safe at all.

Great location less than 5 minutes to the beach. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Fantastic pool with slides . Restaurant had good quality food with lots of variety.

I didnt like that the entertainment & kids club was all in Spanish even the aqua aerobics the Instructor was doing the session in Spanish I know it’s probably not the biggest deal but when you have all other nationalities at least have a little bit of English
