Pros +
- Breakfast was undoubtedly the highlight of the hotel. Diversity and the best quality. We enjoyed our stay there. We had it as a base for exploring Norway and a little of Sweden chasing the northern lights. Overall the hotel was very good. Car park is not offered but there is nearby in the shopping centre a car park. Register via easypark before you enter with automated license plate recognition and you are set.
- Breakfast was very good. Near the railroad station and bus stop to catch local busses.
- Comfortable room which served the purpose for a one night stay before travelling to Lofoten.
Cons -
- Can’t say much. Really an unbeatable price for the region. The room was big and it took a bit longer to warm.
- Room type is confusing: e.g. compact twin vs twin showing same size? Or do they mean old vs refurbished showing price difference? Stayed in an old room. Was cold, dark, not enough power outlets.
- The breakfast area didn’t open until 8am and was immediately packed with people. When food ran out it was not topped up.

The location and price were great. Could walk around downtown and good value if you just want someplace to spend the night before heading off to the airport.
Rooms are tiny and the AC didn’t work. Yes, it was actually hot.
The room wasn't clean the floor was dirty and clearly hadn't been properly cleaned. The bathroom had a ventilation system, but it either didn't work or was so old and weak that it made no difference. After taking a shower, the whole place filled with steam and it was hard to breathe. Definitely not what you expect from a decent hotel.
Location was very convenient and the bus stop was right across the street. The morning breakfast was very good and great selection .
I was happy with all
Fantastic breakfast, lovely large bathroom, spacious room. The airport bus stops right outside. It is a 10 minute walk to the railway station. Nice pub type restaurant adjacent to the ground floor with great staff.
Good location, right opposite the bus stop that I got off after 4 hours bus.Ample space
I am a solo traveller who checked in at around 7pm. Except the receptionist I couldn't see anyone all the way to my room. Lighting was insufficient when I switched on every light available. My first impression on the room was not so good already. The room was awkwardly quiet, with some strange noise occasionally. I felt uncomfortable with the mirror facing right where I slept. The bathroom door banged itself hard with sound of wind inside the toilet. I dared not to do anything but put my headphone on and went on to the bed. The music stopped itself with good Bluetooth connection. I only slept for 2 hours and checked out as early as I could in the morning.Merely my own experience cannot reflect overall standard of the hotel. It could be a nice stay if I had better luck!
Good view from room; but a bit worn in places; excellent breakfast
7th floor bar opening was erratic and restaurant actually an associated bar
Site is near the train station. Breakfast is good.
The room is a bit outdated. So I thought it a bit overprised.
Such a beautiful hotel! Staff excellent, beds comfy, location incredible.
Finding Quality Hotel Grand Royal was easy, and its location is convenient, being close to almost everything. The bar on the seventh floor was a highlight—the view was stunning, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff was very friendly.
The reception staff was polite and helpful, but at times, I felt as though I was inconveniencing them with my questions. The room I stayed in appeared to be part of the older section of the building. While the bed was comfortable and I slept well, the room itself felt tired and in need of renovation. The key card did not function fully automatically, and I had to manually turn off multiple lights individually, as there was no central switch. Maybe i did not noticed it. Additionally, there were no extra outlets near the bed, so I had to unplug a lamp to charge my phone. The elevator system was confusing, particularly when I attempted to visit the seventh-floor bar. Initially, the reception informed me that the bar was accessible via the elevators near the front desk. However, those elevators did not have a seventh-floor option. After wandering around, trying different routes (including an external entrance that was also locked), I eventually sought assistance again. I was then directed to a different elevator in another hall, which did provide access to the seventh floor. Even then, the lift did not function as expected at first, requiring additional assistance from reception to finally reach the bar.I was not the only guest struggling to find the correct way up, which suggests that clearer signage or communication about access would be beneficial.Breakfast was also provided, and while it had a good selection with many choices, I found that the bread wasn’t as fresh as expected. It didn’t feel soft, and it seemed like it had been prepared the day before, rather than being freshly baked for the morning. Additionally, I found the breakfast service rushed. When some guests, including myself, were still enjoying their meal or finishing their drinks, a staff member would come by and immediately take plates and other items away. This felt a bit too hasty, as though there wasn’t enough time to truly enjoy breakfast.
It was close to all the local attractions, the bathroom was spacious enough for me and the heated tiles were a bonus, the mini fridge in the room kept my drinks chilled, the bed was extremely comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was absolutely delicious and the variety of it was amazing.
None that I could think of.
Good location, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, modern well appointed room, restaurants on site
When we arrived, we were told that there are two sides in the hotel, older and newer and the receptionist gave us an upgrade to the newer side, which was very nice of them! They even asked if we wanted twin or double room and with a bath tub or shower! As booking from Booking.com, I didn't realise the two sides of the hotel and you could see the difference in the corridors. The room was clean and spacious with a big window and nice size bathroom (we chose the bathtub, which was super nice!). The view could have been better, but we had small view towards the city, otherwise it was the street next to the hotel. Room had basic hotel room amenities and we were happy with them. Nice bed, but should have asked for another extra pillow. The hotel is situated next to a shopping center and the parking is in there too, which is very convenient. Everything we needed was small walking distance away. Could have walked also to the Narvik Gondoli, but we had bad weather and decided to skip it.The best part of the hotel was the Linken restaurant on the hotels 7th floor. It was so good that we dined there 2 nights in a row. The service was very friendly and accommodating and the food was amazing! Also the view to the city is very nice from up there. We had very good time both of the evenings over there and definitely did not leave hungry!
The pillows were not in the best condition, but there was an extra pillow in the room that we used and probably should have requested a another one too, but did not so that is on us. Otherwise all was good!
The location is good - city center is nearby, shopping center is very close. The breakfast was exceptionaly good. Bus stop to and from aeroport is at the front of the hotel.
The hotel is very modern and beautiful, the rooms have a nice view, are big and the beds are very comfy! But the best was the breakfast, so good and complete, lots of options! Also, the rooftop bar next to the hotel was a great place.
The only thing is that there is no parking, but this wasn't an issue
Hotel is at the bus stand, local bus or long distance busAnd walkable to main train station
View from window overlooking town and bay was exceptional. Close walk to everything including railway station. Bus from Narvik stopped out the front. Beds were good. Breakfast OK
Had to organise clean towels the night before at reception.
Went hiking around Narvik. Hotel was perfect place to relax after a full day of hiking. Excellent hearty breakfast. Staff were helpful and courteous.
