Friendly staff, comfy bed, very clean.

No lift to upper floors, shower drain cover was not attached and kept slipping when using the shower getting under my feet.

the hotel does not have an elevator, the room was on the fourth floor without an elevator, in an improvised attic and it looked more like a renovated barn than a room for rent.I would praise the hygiene, it was really clean, but everything else was just disappointing

Staff were super friendly, very clean room and bathroom and nice that they provided complimentary water, coffee and tea.

The mattress was far too soft so it caused some temporary back pain.

Nice, quiet hotel in a good location, very close to the subway and tram, only 10 min to the train station. Breakfast was good, with plenty of options, Staff was absolutely fantastic, very kind and helpful.

Bed was not very comfortable. I'm 1.60, and this single bed was just long enough to accommodate me. I cannot imagine how would a taller person sleep on such a tiny bed. Also (but I noticed it in other German hotels too) my pillow was huge! You are pretty much half-sitting intstead of lying down.

Location is excellent, right next to U Bahn. Can reach center in 4-5 mins. The area is very lively. Great communication on check-in and check out.

The room is really very small, I know it's mentioned in the description but I wd say not possible to stay if 2 guests. I stayed alone in a double bed room. Bathroom is like in a airplane...

Parking in the neighborhood is very difficult

Accommodated my late arrival. Good size and facilities for the price.

The walls are very thin and I could hear the whole conversation of the neighbouring room.

Arrived later in the evening and the door was locked, no info on how to access our keys so had to call the hotel manager up.

Perfectly situated around the corner from Rüttenscheider Stern station, close to shops, bars and restaurants. Very friendly staff. The room was spacious.

The area is quite loud at night, so make sure to bring your earplugs if you want to keep the window open at night. Also if you book a single room take into account that the single bed is quite small.

Quiet neighourhood with various restaurants and Shop in vicinity. Free parking on the street in front of the hotel. Tram and underground station on three minute walking distance.

This is an excellent choice for Essen. Great staff and clean rooms, with some very nice extra touches (eg in-room tablet). Nice quiet street close to the very vibrant Ruttenscheider street. I liked being in Ruettenscheid, which is approximately 25-min walk from Essen train station, going away from Essen city centre. The very helpful member of staff even made sure I had free public transportation around the area, on account of me staying in the hotel. Would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a stay in Essen/Ruettenscheid.

Breakfast was excellent, better than most 4- and many 5-star hotels. Plenty of choice for every taste, and more than enough of everything. Very friendly service, and they gave a card to use for free public transport, and no charge. Walking distance to the metro

Cheap bouncy mattress, at least in my room, which was in a corner of the top floor.
