Garner Hotel Essen - Messe by IHG

Dirty. Thin walls. Definitely NOT a 4-Star hotel.

Very close to u Bahn, shops and park.

No Reception contact details in the rooms or info about breakfast (too expensive too).

Centrally located, close to all sorts of eateries. The staff at the reception were exceptionally courteous, kind and offered room upgrades.

Great location.and good value for money. Delicious breakfast with a good variety of hot and cold food. We will definitely book again. Also, great views from our room.

Maybe a walk in shower

room too small, towel is too old, breakfast is excellent

towel needs to be good quality

The location is really good, because you can go by walk to the Essen Messen just 15 mins walking. So it is very convenient for a fair trip.

The elevator is very old and there are too many stairs to go to the front desk.

Really helpful staff, very comfortable and great location!

The stay as such met my expectations. The hotel is well situated, right next to a metro stop and within walking distance to Messe Essen. The staff were friendly, everywhere was clean. For a business trip for a few days, I would rate it as suitable accommodation.

In my opinion the mattress was very soft and sounds from the hallway disturbed me at night. Breakfast was very monotonous — the same choices every day — but tasty.

The hotel is well placed, close to the underground station. There are numerous restaurants and supermarkets in the area. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast was ok.

The staff was very friendly and willing to help. The location was excellent, with a metro stop right outside and within walking distance of Messe Essen. The breakfast was delicious and offered a good variety

Perfect location for my trip, I have stayed here before but rooms much better now more modern and fresher

Good hotel. Nice surrounding. Good restaurants nearby.

I am in a wheelchair. Impossible to go in the elevator.

The location is very good and the staff was very friendly

I was in a cozy room but it would be nice to have a fridge and also a telephone to call the resception

The rooms are good for short stay. The staff at reception and breakfast area is good. The hotel is next to Metro station, so travel is convenient. Breakfast is fine and includes Eggs.

The rooms looks a bit outdated. There is no air-conditioning.

Location is good

No air conditioning in this hotel All beds are against the wallElevator is sooo slow No water bottles provided Rooms are so small, 80% of the beds in this hotel lay against the wall. So if you don’t mind sleeping near a wall it’s fine. Elevators are very very slow No water provided - this is a such a shame that they can’t afford 30cents to provide a bottle for their guests For the price you can stay in the Premier inn - incomparable comfort and amenities

Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff

Rooms and building are poorly air conditioned, the room could have been cleaner

The furnitures are modern and up-to-date.

I stayed on 3rd Floor. I can still hear the wind from my windows.

Central location, clean and helpful staff

The hotel was located near public transport (1 min walking) and even though it was a bit on the smaller side it really made up for in quality! Nice and modern looking rooms, beds were heavenly and the staf is so nice!
