Sheraton Essen Hotel

Very nice spacious room, lovely bathroom and very comfortable bed. Restaurant is very good, friendly service and bar is good place to relax after busy days.

Charging points old fashioned - a USB charging point would be nice. Decent coffee machine, coffee, and tea in rooms would be an improvement.

I was genuinely surprised by the generous room size, large bathrooms, very comfortable beds, and very kind and attentive staff (check in, breakfast and restaurant). One evening, I decided to have a simple dinner at the hotel restaurant, and it turned out to be a great choice: delicious food, very friendly staff, a reasonable menu selection, and beautifully presented dishes.

A couple of minor drawbacks: the hotel can be a bit noisy, mainly due to older, loud lifts and some doors that don’t close quietly, and the gym is quite small and feels cramped. Light sleepers may want to bring earplugs. Gym is very small.

Very convenient for the Philharmonie and clean and efficient.

The room a little too hot for my liking and the controls made little difference until I found the window that could be opened a little.

Location close to Philharmonie and Theater. Walkable into town centre - about 10 minutes. Lovely park to the rear. Great food in the restaurant. Nice grand piano which I played late in the evening for the guests. Room was luxurious and large.

I couldn’t get the heating down below a certain temperature. Despite it being around freezing outside when I stayed, I could not get the room cool enough to sleep, so had to open the window. But with the curtains fully closed, it wasn’t Baltic.

Breakfast was good. Room cleaned.

Long check in time. Room temperature too hot during the night, we had to keep the Window open.

No coffee or tea available in the evening or in your room. You have to go the the cocktail bar during opening hours, wait 10 minutes to be served, and pay 4.5 Euros... for a coffee. Would have expected it to be included / freely available. It's coffee.I know it's a stupid requirement to get free coffee, but I will likely pick another hotel for this reason next time.

Front office staff Katie went out of her way to help me.Front office manager Vanessa arranged for a wonderful breakfast because I had an early am checkout.

On the 3d day my room(421)'s heating acted up and caused the room to be like a sauna. I alerted the front desk, but nothing was done that day.On the 4th day I happened to meet maintenance staff on my floor, who adjusted the temperature control and opened my window.This caused me to catch a severe nose cold.

Friendly staff. The bed is very large and comfortable. Rooms are good size.

Staying at the Sheraton in Essen was a delightful experience! Having not visited in years, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly, and the hotel has maintained its sparkling appearance beautifully. Sheraton Essen is definitely my go-to destination in the city.

Room needs refurbishing. Clean but tired. Airco did not work and rooms are too warm. Had to keep window open.l
