Pros +
- The entry and the car parking is easy Check in and check out fastThe bed was comfortable and clean.
- The room was very spacious and comfortable, the location was perfect for us since we stayed there to attend the Essen Spiel so we only needed to take a bus and the convention was just a few stops away. Breakfast was very good, great coffee and great food. I had an omelette both days for breakfast and it was delicious.

Cons -
- The breakfast wasn't as expected
- We were traveling with our 5 month old baby and the crib the hotel provided was not really suitable for a small baby (it was a play and sleep crib with a very low and thin mattress). Our baby used it just to play... anyway this was not an issue since the bed was very large with a firm mattress so our baby slept in the middle.
- The smoking area is too far away and there is no chair. It is very cold outside, as if you are in the smoking area for prisoners and not in a hotel. What I did not like is the lack of a refrigerator in the room. One of the things I did not like is the lack of life in the hotel. There is no movement. There are only three or four rooms booked out of hundreds of empty rooms. Therefore, you find yourself in a scary and not comfortable place. The darkness and the lack of movement are really scary. There are no activities in the hotel, such as music or cafes. Phrases or not, it is only a place to sleep. Regardless of the lack of life in the hotel, it cannot be considered a tourist hotel, but only for sleeping. It is similar to a hospital or a prison. We can say that this hotel is a comfortable prison.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff and cosy rooms.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The parking payment system is a disaster. The ticket didn’t work so I ended up paying double. There was no food available on a Monday evening. Restaurant was closed, the lounge bar didn’t offer anything either and restaurants nearby were all closed. No coffee in the room.
It's a basic business hotel so was almost empty on the weekend. There is an underground car park next to the hotel which you have to pay to use but it is useful. 10 minute drive to the centre. There isn't a restaurant but there is a bar which was very pleasant.
Air conditioning - it made the air very dry even though we had turned it off
Please go to another hotel
Very bad hotel No WiFi You pay for king size bed but you get two small beds attached to each other and when you sleep it get split I didn’t sleep more than two hours continue I had to wake up every time to repair the bedIt doesn’t deserve its price
Friendly staff that helped us with all our needs as we were travelling with our dog.
Everything corresponds to the photos. The room was clean, the bed comfortable. We stayed there for Spiel '22. There's been a free magazine with a promo card in the room. There's a bus stop nearby. You can get to Messe Essen by a direct bus, but would have to walk about 10 minutes from the bus stop to Messe. The reception helped us to get a taxi.
We stayed in October and it was a bit colder in the room that we would prefer. There was only one chair in the room for two.Mentioning this to other travellers just in case. It was super hard to get a taxi anywhere in the city. Better to ask to order a taxi from the hotel reception or take a bus. This is not the fault of the hotel and it didn't affect how I rate it.
Friendly Staff, nice big shower, comfy bed, air con was needed and a bonus during my stay.
Third stay at this hotel. As usual clean and comfortable, very nice continental breakfast.
The gentleman on the desk at night was great! Super friendly and welcoming. Location was good!
The curtains wouldn't shut properly, letting in light in all night, the duvet was too small for the bed. Lastly, we had 2 instances where the hotel domestic staff came into the room in the morning. Despite the sign being on the door.
There was an old, dried up eaten apple on the floor in our room.
It was a very pleasant stay and the staff was exceptional. I loved the breakfast, although it was a bit on the pricy side.
The wifi in the room was non-existent as the reception ended just in front of my door. The staff provided me with an alternative ID, but it was the same. So in the end I had to create a hot-spot using my mobile.
Great hotel and very nice room, you can use their paid underground parking but there were plenty of free spots in the free street parking on the side of the hotel as well
The price per person seemed kinda expensive for breakfast but it is optional
Great room, spacious & clean
Nothing close by
Nice room and bath, great bed
No 24h check in
Breakfast really has broad selection, something for everybody and all fresh. The supervisor on the floor seemed a little overwhelmed and loud.
Cleanliness and friendly staff . Spacious rooms
Expensive parking , tv wasnt great. Wifi slow
The room was a good size and the bathroom was huge. The Reception staff were very friendly and efficient. Fortunately, although no dedicated disabled parking areas, I was able to find a spot close to the entrance to the hotel.
Despite a sign saying no smoking just outside the front door there always seemed to be a group of people smoking there. There were dozens of cigarette ends all over the floor and the smell of cigarettes was awful. The early morning cleaning staff were quite noisy when they came on duty, talking loudly. Although not really the fault of the hotel staff, a wedding party one night were using the entrance to the parking garage as a toilet which was very unpleasant. I found it unusual to have to pay extra for a disabled room.
