Pros +
- Very friendly people, fine breakfast, but biggest positive is the apartment. With 2 adults and 2 children we always prefer auch an apartment over two 2- personrooms or one big family room. Not only did we have two rooms with a double bedroom, there also was an extra bedroom in the kitchen/eat room.

The hotel was newly renovated and the room was clean and comfortable . The manager and staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again when I am in Germany visiting my family.
The apartment was spacious and the area was very quiet. The rooms were big and nice. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
Nicely placed, hotel’s private parking, nice furniture, good breakfast, courtesy water bottle, very nice and helpful staff
Lousy pillow, in the room where I was placed there was no possibility to turn on/off the lights without getting out of bed

The spacious Room.Easy accessCar parking on site
The owner and his wife were exceptionally nice:-) Though typical for continental breakfast, the breakfast was good and ample. The room and bathroom were of good size. This hotel is perfect for those traveling by car, looking for hassle free parking. Also, the setting of the hotel in a residential neighborhood is so peaceful and relaxing. As a bonus, an incredible family owned restaurant (Im Wulve Gaststatte) located around the corner just a few blocks away:-)
To NO fault of the hotel, street construction impacted strassebahn service requiring taking a tram and bus to/from hotel with service (direct line) reinstalled day of my departure. Also, the number one reason my choosing this hotel, was advertisement of spa and sauna, however, the sauna out of service during my stay.
clean. polite. friendly.
Quiet, clean and warm room. Good amount of parking.
A small fridge would be a bonus, and a kettle too.
We traveled to Essen for SPIEL '22 event. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. It had a mini fridge, hair dryer, surprisingly fast Wi-Fi, and we could borrow an electric kettle free of charge. Also the breakfasts were very tasty and unexpensive. The service was kind and the owner speaks English very well. The hotel is a little far from the city center but the tram station is 400m away. Eventually, we could get to the Messe by public transport within 45 minutes. If I come back to Essen, I will definitely make another reservation in Hotel Wilhelmshohe.
Room Cleaness, car parking available
No blinds on windows. Noise on street.
The bed is small for a single person. The heating system does not work. It does not have a receptionist who can assist you face-face. You ave to call all the time to get an answer.
You should have a receptionist who can help customers face-face.Some International customers don't speak German so work on that.
Very clean hotel and great staff. Spotless room, fresh/renovated bathroom, basic but very good breakfast. Excellent location for work in Dusseldorf, Essen or Oberhausen, incl parking and outside seating area for coffee/beer. Very quiet at night and tram access (#105) within 2min of the hotel that takes you directly to Essen main station. I think they also have some rooms with kitchenette.
The hotel has a good location, which is not far from the Schloss Borbeck. It is very clean. It has a free parking platz. The bed is cozy. The price/performance ratio is good.
There is a street railway in the front of the hotel. It makes some uncomfortable noise. The equipments are not modern. There is no staff in the frontdesk all the time. Sometimes, you need to call the boss in order to check-in.
The reception was brilliant considering the gentleman couldn’t speak English very well but he was able to accommodate us with the little English he could speak. I arrived at an odd hour but they took care of all our needs.
None that I experienced
Friendly atmosphere in a great location
