Pros +
- I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The property is nice, well‑maintained, and conveniently located. Parking is available on-site (for a fee), which was practical. The buffet breakfast offered a good variety, and the hotel’s own restaurant and bar provided comfortable spaces to eat, drink, and relax. Overall, it’s a solid place to stay and easy to recommend.
- Very dated decor throughout the hotel.Uncomfortable bed and shower facility.
- The room was always well cleaned
Cons -
- Christmas Eve and the next day everything in the hotel was closed. Not even the bar was open
- The pillows weren't very comfortable and the rooms were pretty basic (although clean).
- We booked a family room and on arrival was told it was not available and had to be split up into two rooms. The hotel did offer us free parking and a coffee each morning as compensation which was fair enough, but then at check out tried to make us pay again and attempted to charge us city tax for the additional room. They eventually realised this was not acceptable and waiver it. Other than this no other faults.

The pool and spa were wonderful. We had the place to ourselves and it was a great way to start the day. I also loved the location. It was right next to a beautiful forest, close to my client and easy to travel in and out of the centre of Essen.

The breakfast was nice, had a lot to choose from. Rooms were clean and warm, the staff helpfull. The bus stop was 5 min walk (the one in the fron of the hotel was closed for road works) to reache the subway for the centre.
The pool water was cold. The rooms could be modernized, especially the bathrooms.
There is no credibility; you cancel your booking through Booking.com, then they manipulate the agreement and force you to pay additional fees.
For some reason I had a very good sleep when stayed in this hotel. I also appreciated very affordable price. There is a parking space just in front of the building. Not far away there is a police station, which, I believe, makes this area a bit safer (generally, I found out, there are many homeless people in Essen).
I stayed in several rooms and some of them were not super clean and even stinky. Not every room had a refrigerator. I wasn’t also happy with my experience in the bar/restaurant, the food was not really eatable and the waiter did let me wait for my food too long even though it was was very quiet hour. I was served after the other couple that came 20 min. after me. I felt ignored and didnt‘t leave any tip.
The spa area is really nice to relax in. The location is good about 20 min from the central station by bus.
The bed pillows are not comfortable. The hotel should consider replacing them. The bed sheets and pillow covers are not being replaced, which is a significant concern. This issue has been brought to their attention, but no action has been taken. While the spa area is pleasant, there is room for improvement in terms of cleanliness and the use of more appealing fragrances.I tried the cheeseburger at their restaurant, and it was the saltiest burger ever. I don't recommend the burger.

Nothing, paid 125 for one night i wanted a big room but it was very small
Bathroom was not clean, staf unfriendly
reception, room, breakfast with lots of options, swimming pool and fitness room a great plus
The room that we get is too small for three person.I will with my child and we have to walk too far.And I ask neer bij the swimming pool
There are friendly staffs. a good bar and many rooms.
Because the road in front of hotel is under construction, It was a bit of difficult to leach by taxi.
Nice staff
Bit old, but clean
The swimming pool and location wasn't bad
I don’t know how people are giving this hotel a rating of 10! The hotel and its furniture are very old, and the beds were uncomfortable. We were a group of five, and none of us had a good sleep — the pillows were horrible. The breakfast had very limited options. One of the staff members kept staring at my wife the whole time, which made her uncomfortable. She only told me after we left; otherwise, I would have confronted him. I was very disappointed with this hotel — it’s not worth even half the money we paid.
With adjustements it was fine
For me, the room was small. It was ok and had most everything except I missed a hot water heater for tee.I also did not like the cooking of the restaurant.
Nice hotel. Didn't use any of the amenities, but the room was nice enough and it was easy to get to.
Room could use a little better vacuuming in the corners, otherwise it was clean.
Great breakfast, very good location, very quiet although the hotel was quite full because of a fair in Essen.
There was a constant dropping of a rain drop on the window sill. It didn't prevent us from falling asleep, but it could clearly be heard. We should have told reception. People might find this annoying.
Good breakfast, perfect location close to Exhibition centre.
