Motel One Essen

Compared to many of these chain hotels, this one had reasonably sized rooms, comfortable bed and a very central (but safe) location. The Breakfast was also quite decent and the staff kept the buffet well stocked and tidy.

They need to use stronger detergents in cleaning the bathroom. It was clean but not smelling very nice.

Location is perfect We stayed one night for the Christmas market. You step out of the door and you are already at the market. Friendly personel. Parking garage in front of the hotel. We had a beautiful view from our window.

If you want your window open can get noisy. But that is a downside to be so close to the market.

Good proximity, nice room and nice and helpful staff.

I was quite irritated by the church bell ringing every hour and in the morning even quartet to the hour.Also paper thin walls, had a neighbor who snored, woke up and thought he/she was right next to me, that's how loud it was.

The hotel was warm and cosy. The shower was large and powerful, which I love. The staff were all pleasant and spoke very good English,

There was no tea or kettle in the room, which i very disappointed about.

The breakfast is OK. They have a lot of vegan options. The location is directly next to the Christmas Market in Essen. The parking is next to the hotel and costs 18e per 24h. Rooms are well maintained. To find the parking you have to look for Centralgarage Kennedyplatz and enter the underground tunnel on the road.

Sunday is super busy, especially during breakfast. There is no food in the bar, but there are enough restaurant nearby

This time I've got a less nice view. The bathroom wasn't that great clean. Actually, you still miss a coffee maker or a water boiler for some tea.

The location is amazing; staff are lovely; bar works 24/7, yet it is slightly pricey.

I did not know that a “motel” means that you won’t have a fridge or a bin in the room. There is a bin in the bathroom, but it is not the same.

Quality and comfortable hotel in downtown Essen, everything close and in walking distance.

Frequent reminders and motivation throughout the whole hotel to postpone or cancel daily room service

Everything was fantastic apart from one slightly rude member of the bar staff who behaved like he was in charge, but in actual fact he was a trainee. This didn’t distract from my overall experience though as the manager said she was going to have a word and I trust that she did. I’ll find out whether it’s worked when I go back there!

Very central location and the room/bed was very comfortable. We were also happy with the cleanliness. Was exactly what we were looking for a one-night stay!

The rooms and bathroom are very simple, and somewhat small. We also found the breakfast to be a bit lacking and not often restocked as new guests came in.

City centre hotel, easy to find within walking distance of the railway station. About 30-40 minutes by train from Düsseldorf Airport and 10 minutes on the U-Bahn to Messe Essen. Motel One quality as expected, so no surprises!

Room was really hot and stuffy when I arrived, as the power is off to the rooms when you are not there so the air conditioning is not running. Windows do not stay open either. Took a good hour before it was comfortable.

Really friendly reception! Early checkin was possible and enjoyed my stay. Breakfast and room condition is good.
