Black Marlin Motel

After a boiling hot day, the air con in one room was not working properly. The other room was not cleaned properly (straw in my milk carton - obviously not changed over, very little to no shower gel in the shower, bathroom door almost fell off. Obviously poorly maintained and not cleaned from previous night so manager agreed to a refund for the 2nd night as we decided not to stay on. Booking.com has tried to obtain the refund as promised and Manager has completely ignored all requests - had no intention of refunding as agreed. And not sure how they can 4 stars next to this property - 1 star more like it. If you're thinking of staying here - just don't. The Barrier Reef Motel much nicer!

Poor maintenance and poor cleaning of the room. Air con not working properly and Innisfail is a very hot place.

Room was clean and close to town.

No staff on arrival. Very out dated and neglected. Bed sheets where itchy.No water pressure just drips out No hot water. Car park has holes everything one big one coming into park. Room is nothink like photos when booking.

Where do you start. I have photos ? far to much to list, but it's an O.H & S nightmare..The traffic coming and going all night isn't normal. There is no management of a night time, it's just you and elements .. management doesn't like being rung at 4 am to quieten their permanent and the traffic in no 4 , 7. I didn't like not being able to sleep ALL NIGHT. If it was managed, the night traffic wouldn't be happening.. avoid this place.. you can hear the conversations in the next room, it's bad.. no insulation and the curtains, lol it's like staying in a light box. Avoid avoid avoid.... can't upload enough photos... you can forget the normal cut and paste replies, by the way you handled my concerns AT 4 IN THE MORNING SPEAKS VOLUMES... HANG UP ON GUEST AND SEWAR AT THEM... WOW! TRASH ESTABLISHMENT, TRASH MANAGEMENT AND PERMANENTS ... I RAN OUT OF THAT DUMP WITH OUT SHOWING OR SHAVING AT 5 IN THE MORNING TO AVIOD THE MOB ATTACK... REFUND MY MONEY...

The lady running the front desk was very nice

My only sinch was that we weren't allowed to smoke right outside the door, however it is a very understandable and reasonable rule

Our room has a mould growing on the ceilings, the bathroom sink is broken, and the bed is super uncomfortable. Window blind is not enough coverage. You can see the room from outside . The reception wasn't there when we arrived. Many people have been waiting outside in the heat for a long time. We all called many times after 10-20mins later they finally answered and got the keys. It's not worth money. Over priced.

Bathroom was very tiny, but to be expected for motels of yesteryear. The place was very clean. Price was up there though.

Bed mattress was a little hard for my liking but the room was good would stay again

Motel was clean however air conditioner did not work and there was no hot water for a shower.

The location was good.

I thought the motel was just adequate and well down on the list of value for money. The tracks for the sliding door to the bathroom were broken and the door was difficult to move. The rooms of my friends also had problems: blocked basin, smoke alarm flashing red, AC not working properly.

Convenient. The beds were ok. The air con was good.

No soap. The shower soap container didnt work. The shower was broken, some of the lights didn't work.

Very clean, and comfortable, parking is right at the door, very convenient and it's off-street. The owner is very friendly & so are the staff members, I would be staying here again when visiting this beautiful little town

It was clean

The room was not serviced in the 3 days we were there. There was no iron/ironing board in the room.

Staff very helpful, I arrived after office hours and was not a problem, key left for me in a safe, really easy

Nothing to complain about

The location was fine. The staff were pleasant.

The room was quite musty; the bathroom door didn’t close; the curtains were mouldy and the screens came out.

Didn’t have breakfast because I was so busy sleeping comfortably.

Parking: if everyone parked where there room was would’ve been great.

Originally had trouble accessing our room due to a late checkin and advising via email. No answer on phone numbers provided. Eventually got through and were able to get code to locked box to access room key.

Motel needs maintenance badly, particularly driveway. Another guest had someone loudly banging on their door and yelling at them at 2.30am to be let in. This continued on 3 occasions, waking us up.

The motel was chosen because of its value and location. It was clean and tidy, basic, but fulfilled all of our requirements and needs,it was quiet and clean that was all we needed.Check in was a breeze.

To be honest it was a bit tired but so were we. It could probably do with some money spent on it. For the market we represent it was fine.
