Barrier Reef Motel Innisfail

The owners are lovely, food in the restaurant was excellent.

Good location, nice friendly staff.

The driveway in, up a slope, if you have a low ground clearance vehicle its going to scrape. Its really quite bad, but would be a hard fix for the hotel. More to do with the slope/angle of the road going in.

The room was like a prison cell with painted concrete blocks.

Hallway to the room was completely dark, dangerous, had to use a torch to get to room.

The room was a little small, the air conditioner wasn’t working requiring us to go find the manager and replace the remote batteries

The location to where I was going was very close by

The pool was locked and wasn't accessible when we wanted to have a swim. We were using the cushions for our little one to prop him up on the chair to eat his meals. We went out for the day, the room was serviced, and the cushions we were using were placed away in a cupboard.

We arrived prior to reception closing to find no one there. No instructions where sent by msg or email. Had to call and be told key was left out which is fine but a heads up would have been nice. Room was small and dark for the $$. Hot shower wasn’t hot, just warm. It’s not the worst place we’ve stayed but the whole experience has gone down hill since we last stayed a few years back.

Air conditioning rattled all night but worst of all was the pool that had absolutely no shade and was hotter than a bath. We booked this place and was happy to pay more to enjoy the pool of an afternoon. It was unbearable and very disappointing

Room was clean but fairly old and very poor WiFi access.

Not suitable for families with young children

Would not recommend family room for families. Shower door and soap inaccessible for children. No plates or cutlery although they had a microwave. Water not hot enough and low pressure. Room extremely hot on arrival.

Bed was comfy. Location was good. Quiet

Cockroaches, insects in the room. Sink in the bathroom leaked underneath.

Location suited our purposes well. Easy to walk into town centre, restaurants etc. Room was in quiet location away from street. Coffee, tea and biscuits in the room.

Like many motels the Barrier Reef is a bit dated but did have reasonable facilities. Didn't get a chance to try the restaurant.

Great friendly customer service, they are happy to accommodate customer. Price vaule for few days stay and location near town. Comfy beds

For the $160/night rate the motel is a little outdated.

There was no milk in fridge for early morning coffee. Disappointing.

Comfortable stay, small rooms but we stayed in a room that had been refreshed which was nice. The bathroom is small but the showerhead had great pressure.

Unfortunately as you need to leave a key in the power socket to keep the power on, our items in the fridge went off because we were out of the room all day which was disappointing.

The Motel was acceptable but located a short distance from the town. and the room, although small, was comfortable. under cover parking was a bonus as It rained and we could get our O/Nite gear out of the car without getting wet. Had a nice Dinner at the hotel in town.
