    Pros +

    • Located in the centre of Dubbo makes for a very convenient visit. Onsite facilities are good as was the food in the Bistro. Staff are friendly and helpful. Access to the verandah which surrounds the rooms offers good views.
    • Great staff ,clean rooms and great price
    • The staff members was friendly to me . And pool table is for FREE to play. And the food is good ?

    Cons -

    • At the time of my visit The Castlereagh was undergoing extensive renovations which is needed, unfortunately this means there is little to no onsite parking (Tradies have to park somewhere too) The hotel is rather old and does need an update hence the reno's but I had a single room that was pretty cheap given the location.
    • The air conditioning system did not work in the room just luck it's was not that hot or cold
    • The room smelt musty AF. The sink leaked leaving the carpet underneath soaked. The shared bathroom hasn’t been cleaned in years. A nice collection of dust and mould - hot tip, wear thongs in the shower to save on the tinea creamThe ‘lounge/kitchen’ is having an identity crisis. The room has a TV, microwave, mini fridge and table/chairs and a kettle - no sink and no ‘lounge’. The music was loud on Saturday night, bit of floor vibrations. The meat raffle on Thursday night finished early, congrats to the winners. The mirror over the sink in room was positioned for a giant, had to stand on the bed to use it.Ordered take-away from the restaurant where my order was lost, after waiting nearly an hour our food was cold and the cheesecake tasted like it was made the previous year.

In Dubbo for touch state cup - we were in a twin room with shared bathroom.Comfortable bed, air-con and ceiling fan.Location - close to the carnival we were attending

    5MartinPosted on: 2-23-2025

    Very average at best

The accommodation is very tired and run down. There was no mention of the thumping music until 1am.

The party in the hôtel until 2am with big noise…

I loved the pub style accommodation and that it was close to the Main Street and train station.

It’d be beneficial if the staff up sold their rooms. And explained further about the rooms booked. Just a tiny suggestion. Only coz I thought I had booked an ensuite room but got the shared bathroom instead.

Location and secure parking, good bar and restaurant.

Need a curtain above the door of room 17 to keep out the hall light, more hanging ability for clothes would be helpful as would a bedside lamp. It was comfortable enough for a night or two only, but very noisy even on a Monday & Tuesday. It also could do with an updated toilet seat and a chair in the room. By the way, the fan only seems to have one setting, fast.

    Staff were very helpful

This is an old property. Carpets needed a good clean. Linen was clean. For an old pub room with a single bed I thought it was a $60 a night place, not the amount being charged.

The staff were very friendly, the food was excellent ?, pokies were crapp but aren't they all...

There were a group of people fighting in the early hours of the morning fighting and yelling, but that wasn't pubs Fawlt....there was no bottled water in the fridge or available for the coffee area....had to fill jug in common area from bathroom tap....

It’s an old building that is in need of some renovation and work. However I dont mind any of that and appreciate old architecture. My problem is with the clientele that stay at the hotel. I think it’s reasonable to say they are below animal level.

I made the unfortunate decision to stay at Castlereigh hotel. This “hotel” is essentially a holding centre for people in between their next holiday in prison. The imbecile that was in the room next to me was up all night and so pissed he couldn’t even talk. I’ve never seen a human being is such a pitiful state. After a day at work I spent the night listening to him loudly bang a bin around while sitting on the verandah outside my door for half the night. There was also an extremely loud and long screaming match outside in the early hours of the morning from other dole bludging muppets staying at the hotel. I strongly suggest the Castlereigh screens thier guests with a police clearance or at least something. Otherwise be honest about the level of safety and peace people can expect from the clientele that stay/live there.

My son said his stay was lovely Mr Nick Austin.

Once when he phoned me I could hear some cars joy riding on the street. Nick rather enjoyed it. ?

Honestly for budget accom it’s perfectly fine, staff super friendly and helpful which makes you feel welcome, especially if you’ve had a long drive.

Nothing really, like I said, it’s budget accom.

    Secure Parking.

Bedding - lumpy, cold. Not enough bedding. No where to hang clothes. Hole in wall. Door hinges broken and replaced with screw driver. No where to sit in room. Light shines in room. No curtain on window above door. I could not sleep.

We couldn’t wait to leave. Never stay there again!!!

Womens bathrooms out of order due to flooding, my teenage daughter and I were advised to use the gents bathrooms. This was not advised prior to, or at check in. Gents bathrooms only had 1 working shower and the toilets were in a disgraceful condition. A disturbing situation for both of us. There was also non-stop noise most of the night. Mechanical, electrical and inconsiderate guests created constant noise and we got no sleep.

    Location. Price

NOISEY. Should be advertised that there's loud music. Women's bathroom was flooded so I had to use the men's....Only had one thin blanket so I was very cold at night.

Central to Township. Secured on-site parking. Room with shower and Toilet.

No breakfast items in the room. They used to have it, one of the reasons why I booked. Price need to reflect this discontinued service.
