Taronga Western Plains Zoo is currently building a brand new accommodation precinct, the Serengeti Resort, set to open in early 2027. This exciting development will include the Savannah Cabins as part of a larger resort experience. The land directly in front of the Savannah Cabins is being transformed into animal habitat. Once complete, the cabins will have an outlook over roaming African wildlife (from March 2027). Current construction works are adjacent to the cabins and include construction of new villas and landscaping works.

- The air conditioning was only in the living area at one end of the cabin. It had been a 38c day and the bedrooms were hot and stuffy, very hard to cool them and get a comfortable night sleep in the hot bedrooms. TV remote was missing so very hard to watch
