Tatura Country Motel

This motel was a stopover for us on our way to the Great Ocean Road. The Motel is on the older side however the rooms were quite adequate for the stopover. The accommodation was clean, shower was very good, great water pressure.The manager/owner was very friendly and obliging. He left our room keys under our doormat as the office would be closed before we arrived - and we were only 10 minutes away.We ate at one of the hotels in town and had breakfast at a local cafe.

The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful when we arrived. The motel is in a green setting and despite being close to the road was very quiet.

There were no bowls or plates in the room for eating with.

Have stayed here a number of times, good location and comfortable enough. Nice to be able to sit outside and listen to the parrots. Never again though after this experience.

On arrival we were greeted by an extremely drunk woman slumped on the ground outside the room next door. Loud music, copious swearing and banging on door/window yelling at whoever was in that room. Knocking on our door asking us to call police. We phoned the manager who doesn’t live on site, he seemed to be already very familiar with these guests and their circumstances. We went out for dinner and he later called to say he had attended and everything was under control.After we returned to the room things were initially quiet then eventually escalated with one of these guests attacking the other’s car outside our room, besides lots of screaming and beating on door/window for an extended period. Another guest left as she was frightened.We called the police who attended promptly. We eventually got to sleep around 1am.We stayed a second night and all was well although we did notice these guests were still in the room(!)As we were getting ready to check out I discovered payment for our room had been debited from a different card to the one I used on the booking platform when making our reservation. It’s a card I have used at the property previously, which is quite a concern.I approached the manager and stated I wasn’t happy about paying for our first night there as it was a pretty ordinary experience. He immediately became very hostile, in fact the level of hostility surprised me. I also raised the issue of the wrong card being used. His response was, “do you always blame everyone else for everything?” Wow. He refused to investigate or rectify the card issue. He stated he had done the right thing by calling the police (it was actually us who called them), and removing the guests - who were still in residence when we checked out!He did return shortly afterward and apologised, and refunded one night to us.I can only assume this is a government -funded short term accommodation arrangement which is probably pretty lucrative.

Location, cleanliness and comfortable beds.

No bedside lamp in the second bedroom. Was told people damage them hence no lamp but they could easily install wall lamps above the two beds. Very inconvenient with a two year old child that didn’t want the room in darkness when going to sleep.

I like how easy it is to deal with the property owners and that nothing is ever a bother for them.

The rooms don't really cater for my mum and her walker, but we always manage. The beds on wheels make it difficult for her to get in to bed at times because the bed moves and the bathroom doesn't allow her to take her walker in to next to the shower

The owner would lovely to talk and deal with, easy check in & out process, small motel, felt safe, the room was modern, comfortable & had everything I needed for my stay with my baby. I would stay here again if I needed accommodation in Tat!

Close to the city centre, affordable accommodation, and staff were helpful. :)

Easy location. It was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly.

Some plates and cutlery would have been good, there was a toaster and microwave but nothing to eat the food on.

Beautiful motel, enjoyed my stay! Good location and facilities were clean and comfortable. Really happy with my stay and will recommend to others.

Not having crockery and cutlery in the room, though I did discover it in the shared kitchen facility. Not sure whether I missed this information in the compendium, but if it’s not there already, it would be helpful to add it.

Beautiful welcoming people the only thing I’d note is the mattress is unbelievably hard which wasn’t expecting but didn’t wake up with a sore back so that might just be a personal preference of the firmness of the mattress.

The room was quiet, clean, and had everything we needed. The room had been updated including refurbished bathroom.We made the booking last minute but was able to do self checkin which was very confident.

Comfy bed, excellent shower. Had microwave and toaster. Lots of room.
