Oarks Canal Park Hotel Toyama

Super clean, affordable option. Well located and staff super helpful and sweet.

We all and all had an excellent stay. If we are picky, we would say the beds are a little bit stiff and the rooms are a little outdated. But the pros overpower the cons.

Breakfast was decent (in terms of portions and food waste). Location is within 5 minutes of the train station and park/art museum.

The bed is a little old, and I wish the washroom and bathroom were separated.

The hotel is also very accessible, just a short walk from Toyama Station. The breakfast was exceptional. On the first day, we enjoyed the Western-style menu, and on the following day, we tried the Japanese set—both were delicious and beautifully presented.

It would be helpful if the hotel could update the in-room guidebook. Both of us tried to make a reservation for a massage service listed in the book, but when we called the number provided, we were informed that the service was no longer available. That was the only inconvenience we experienced during our stay.

Breakfast is not buffet. Instead, you are imposed a tray already filled with food that you did not choose. Mine, went all to waste. A buffet allows you to choose only what you want, avoiding waste.

Lovely hotel right by the train station. Super convenient, clean, comfortable, welcoming and all conveniences should you wish to have meals.

Bed and pillow are hard, urine smell in bathroom

The hotel is near the station, which was convenient for me because I have been doing day trips mostly. It's also near the food shops and shopping area.

The location was good! Staff seemed very kind but they almost didn't speak any English.

You could hear the noises of the guests on the neighbouring guests. No breakfast or any ammenity was included.

Great location right next to train station, but nice and quiet. Staff friendly. Would recommend. Good value for money.

The location is great and we had a huge window looking at the mountains which was incredible. The Japanese breakfast was amazing and the restaurant staff were so kind and helpful.

There is limited interaction with the hotel staff that makes it feel impersonal. It’s not terrible though.

Room was big with beautiful mountain views! Very conveniently located close to Toyama train station and within walking distance to a nearby car rental with hotel parking available for a fee which made transport a breeze! Hotel was also accommodating and allowed external visitors to the rooms for a short while which was very helpful - many other hotels did not allow this and we had to cancel another booking due to this restriction.

Hotel staff didn’t speak English well which made communication a little difficult but they were patient and nothing that Google translate couldn’t resolve.

Excellent choice for accommodation in Toyama. Very close to the station and even in wet weather it was close to the underpass. Staff were so lovely and obliging. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Good location. The hotel is clean. Even though the hotel isn’t located in restaurant area but not too far from Toyama station which is surrounded by restaurants. Room is big enough for two guests.

Hotel location is at another side of Toyama station which isn’t surrounded by shops snd restaurants. But this isn’t a big problem. 7-11 is close to the hotel.

2 mins walk to Toyama station. The tram station is just in front of the hotel entrance. Nice classic proper hotel with multiple restaurants downstairs.

I would appreciate a bigger bathtub or a public bath.
