DoubleTree by Hilton Toyama

This was the most luxurious and comfortable hotel we stayed at during our entire 3-week trip all over Japan. The bed was very large and extremely comfortable. The fitness center was immaculate and had a lot of good equipment.

No parking available on-site.

Young man who greeted us and explained to us the whole run down of the hotel was very kind. Additionally, we got stuck in the rain headed back to the hotel but the staff greeted us with towels as we came in soaking wet

The room was clean and nicely appointed. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. I loved the unlimited mineral water. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

I didn't have a breakfast plan. At other hotels in Japan, I sometimes paid for the full breakfast. But 3500 yen is considerably more than other comparable hotels in Japan.

Location was fantastic, staff was friendly and accommodating, room was comfortable and spacious for the price.

Short walk from train station. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby and in the station.

My partner and I absolutely love this hotel and decided to stay again because of the location, staff, and room. We love that there have Toyama ‘oiisihi mizu’ (delicious water) on every floor. The cafe attached is absolutely lovely and the young woman, Shiori, was extremely helpful, friendly, and enjoyed practicing her English with us. Conformable bed as well as access to streaming is always nice after a long day exploring the city.

The room was not nearly as clean as last year. It wasn’t dirty per se, but the shower glass had characters drawn on it that showed up when we showered from the steam - so obviously they weren’t cleaned. There was a stain on the wall and just general feel like the room had been “cleaned” quickly without attention to detail.The fridge is not a fridge. I don’t remember this from last time, but it’s just a cooler! We didn’t hate this, but it’s good to know before booking, I think. So don’t buy perishable (aka yogurt) items haha - we found that out the hard way.

Everything was immaculate. The hotel is only a short walk from the bullet train station. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast and the gym has sufficient amount of exercise machine to keep fits. We can leave our luggage for the day with the hotel after we checked out for our stay.

The hotel is very convenient located next to the train station. Modern hotel. Good size room with comfortable beds and a small sitting area.

Male, non Japanese, staffmember at check inn was very unfriendly. We are Hilton Honors members but didn’t book through their website since it was way more expensive. He told me I had to pay for wifi which I refused. I booked without breakfast so he offered me a cheaper rate on the breakfast, I wanted to think about it, but he told me I had to accept the offer right away. We ended up buying breakfast groceries at Lawson down stairs.

We are welcomed by warm cookies and nice staff. Extra bed was arranged but it’s still spacious.

Good location and easy access.

For the size of our room, it was cluttered with what we felt were unnecessary items.

Small public bath with no facility. Not much personal service provided by the hotel staff

The hotel locates in a great location, and it’s very convenient for travelers to start from Toyama station and to grab food near it.

The price is a little bit higher as a high-end hotel but a bit without satisfying services and competitive quality.

So close to the train station (just a few street crossing), approx 2mins away. The hotel is so conveniently located to shops and you get an amazing view of the Tateyama mountains as you cross the street to get to the station-breathtaking view which we got to see every morning we were there! The hotel and rooms were well kept and very clean, room was spacious and very comfortable. Staff were very courteous of course. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great service and friendly staff. Hotel has a decent onsen with sauna. Delicious warm cookie on arrival!!
