Apa Hotel Toyama-Ekimae

Location-wise is acceptable. Some staff tried to be helpful.

Cleanliness and hygiene were terrible. The shower curtain stank and full of taints. The ventilation was full of dust. The air con was either too old or too dirty to cool the room. Staff said ¿we will let you know¿ and totally forgot about my request.

Staff was friendly and helpful. I did not have time to use the public bath facilities but am sure they make the stay even better.

There were areas of the room with some grime. Namely the bathtub and shower in the room.

The very reason why I booked this hotel was because of there were non-smoking rooms available. Though described as a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor, my room reeked of smoke. I am aware that APA converted some of their former smoking rooms into non-smoking rooms, but changing the sign of the door does not do the trick: despite the sign, the room reeked of smoke. I would not stay in this hotel again.

Its very close to station and restaurants

Smelly toilet, very noisy room next door and breakfast start from 6:30am and I was there 6:25 and it’s was already full, long cue and the food was cold.. unbelievable.. never staying here again..

Pleasant

The bathroom smelled a little of damp. The mattress was REALLY old and sank in the middle so was horrible to sleep on. Everything outside of that was fine but a hotel that's uncomfortable it sleep in is kind of a deal breaker.

Location is not too far from Toyama station

Size of the room is so small, even for Asian body size, too small for two persons

the staff were very kind and responded efficiently to my requests regarding the room location, and quickly resolved a booking issue that was entirely my fault.

Clean and well kept bath was nice

A bit out of the way. For the same money you can stay downtown.

Friendly staff, good facilities (including a pretty nice onsen!), and big breakfast in the morning. The room was very big for Japanese standards and the price.

Close to transportation, spa, space under bed for luggage, and abundance of eating options close.

The room temperature was over 28C when we entered the room. We asked to lower the room temperature but the front said it was centrally controlled and cannot change. After a lengthly conversation with the front, he finally accepted to lower the temperature. At 11PM the temperature was still 26.5C. We again called and asked not only lower the temperature but need air conditioning to solve this issue. The front finally offered to sleep in the north side of room where it was 21.5C in the room temp. APA Hotel people do not use their brain to see if the room temperature is right for their customers but rely solely on the central computer without checking by themselves. It is the basic concept of customer services to listen to the customers and correct it in a timely manner. In addition the bed mattress was not flat but bumpy and very uncomfortable.

Very good value. The onsen was amazing!

A very small room that smelled of cigarettes (but we reserved a smoking room which was an only option so it is understandable - but the whole floor smelled like cigarettes).Also the TV didn't support the USB port to watch our own movies.

It's location is perfect, right next to the shinkansen station and close to many transport links. The room was your standard Japanese hotel room, ie. Tiny but practical. The sento was great though as it had a sauna outdoor bath and cold plunge as well as the normal hot bath

Hotel was clean, good staff and had a spa included. Also the hotel is close to the station.

Public bath

I highly request the staff training. I explained several times to a young female staff that I used the parking and already paid on 7/18 around 9pm. She called to our room AFTER 9pm to check the fact. I doubt she needed to call for double check it soon after I spoke with her. No respect to guests and unprofessional.

Love APA! In some ways the best one yet

Would have scored much higher but I screwed up my booking. Thought I booked a non smoking room but got a smoking. Looked at confirmation and it was smoking- my fault!

Very comfortable room, great breakfast and the hotel isn’t too far from the station.

Breakfast gets super crowded at the start, so avoid early mornings in the restaurant if you can.

Disappointing

The hotel is next to railways - noisySeems the rooms used to be smoking, the smell exists. Breakfast is poor

Maybe nearby area under construction it’s looks very dark and remote especially at night. Abit far from station.

Choose wrong room given smoking room. Counter staff can’t help to change ! Nearly suffocated! No choice but open window throughout the night.

Wonderful local food (Hotaru Ika!) with good rice, good tofu, local and western selections, maintained by lovely obaachan. Kept me well fed, all very much appreciated -- thank you!
