Pros +
- Layout, fauna and flora, beach sand... all just fantastic. Most staff were so friendly. Loved the pool, massage spa and gym. Great music, not crowded... very special stay.
- Wonderfully decorated, big garden, beautiful sunset, cute dogs and super kind staff.
- very nice and relaxing place, with beautiful ocean views and great music at the bar
Cons -
- Reception / beach pub male staff not always most helpful. Very difficult to get kayaks up and down stairs - especially as there were no decent straps. Oars also not great (no proper kayak ores)
- The room was not too well-equipped, there was no wardrobe for our clothes and wasn't even a soap dish in the bathroom. And many times there was no electricity.
- Food, especially the breakfast was somewhat limited. There was no freely avalable drinking water. There is no sandy beach.

Beautiful property, very well decorated, right on the ocean, clean rooms, massage service on site
Very secluded so it’s quite hard to visit the island from there. There is no beach, there is only access to the water, but difficult to swim because of the depth and tides.
The surroundings sell itself. It was a really nice well kept place and the staff was professional and kind. It is a great place to unwind. I also liked the food and drink choices offered by the neighbors. The chapattis, cakes and bread in the small shop next door were great. The food and cocktails at the blue kameleon was superb, as well as the Italian style coffee at the shankaa internet cafe. With these food and drink offers next door it was a great place to spend a few days
I really missed a small refrigerator and a kettle to boil some water for tea and coffee. For this price one can expect that. Everything was designed to make as much money as possible to the level that even water, coffee and tea had to be bought at the bar. So I could not have my early morning coffee, because the bar was not open yet.
Good vibes, very relaxing and peaceful. There were lots of places to hang out and enjoy the sun. The staff was very friendly and nice.
There was only lukewarm water in the shower. The food was acceptable but not exceptional. The Pina Coladas were excellent. They did run out of ice in the late afternoon and so the beers were warm.
One gem of the island far and off the beaten tracks. Never disappointed. Respect for nature and surroundings , I personally hope they will not bring lami here. The charm is the walk in nature and away from the fujo of town.
It was a stunning location and the room was spacious and had everything we needed. The team went out of their way to make our stay special, especially on my daughter’s birthday. We ordered a cake and got that along with a wonderful singing and dancing performance!
There was confusion on booking as it said sea view when I was looking but the confirmation said garden view which was what we got. This was disappointing at first but we had a wonderful stay nonetheless. It’s a little far from Stone Town and the road to the hotel is nothing short of treacherous!
The location of the hotel was nice as it was next to the school I volunteered at and the atmosphere at night was nice too!
The room was dirty and the bed very uncomfortable! Also they had messed with the booking at arrival so I believe they gave me an unprepared room !
The sea view was amazing
Just a few things let it down, the toilet seat was fitted, they could spray the room daily as there’s loads of ants and bugs.the water for tea in the morning is boiling tap water, everywhere we have stayed on the island they use bottled
Wonderful relaxing lodge. The location is beautiful. There is a pool, soft lounge music, sportsfacility's, relaxbeds, shade, swings, hammocks, nice food. Not expensive and nice personel. Very clean simple bungalows with a fantastic view
It is a bit remote. No problem if you have a car or if you need to relax
Staff, location, bedroom decoration, cleanliness, wifi, shower, common areas, vibe
The whole place is just wow…! so beautiful and peaceful with so many nice areas to relax, with sunny and shaded areas. Great sunset views. The bed and bedroom were comfortable and spacious. Having the sea to jump into straight from the property was a bonus. The staff were super cool, helpful and friendly. We ate at the restaurant a lot and the food overall was very nice and reasonably priced. The location is out of the main area (20-25 min walk), but if you don’t mind that, it is perfect for staying in the property and enjoying the amazing surroundings. We really had a nice time and wish we’d booked longer than 3 nights!
Nothing, it was all amazing!
It’s a very quirky place in the far south of Zanzibar. The hotel is set in lush grounds and all the accommodations have a very private feel. So much effort has been put into the gardens will lots of art and trinkets hanging. It really is wonderful. The pool was really nice and the staff are lovely
I feel that the cushions in all the communal areas don’t always look clean but they do offer towels. There isn’t a beach the hotel do provide paddle boards. But I do like to be at a sandy beach location
Really nice place, laid back vibe, feels isolated in a good way. Fun dipping straight into the ocean at high tide. The rooms are big and comfy.
Lovely resort with many areas to relax and lovely staff. Great facilities including a nice gym and space to do yoga. Calm location away from other tourists, with still some small shops and restaurants around. Really nice aesthetic and people.
I did not find it ideal as a solo traveller wanting to relax and unwind. Limited options to relax alone in silence (many guests and quite busy), many families with young children occupying the pool and making noise early mornings and during the day (not the children's fault of course!), music all day/evening (although sometimes nice calming music but otherwise louder music) and noise until 10/11pm which wasn't great to sleep early and rest.I was also a bit disappointed with the Seaview room. I was hoping (as per the photos) for a private balcony with full view of the sea where I could relax on my own, but mine was behind a couple of other bungalows so did not have privacy and only had partial sea view. Otherwise very lovely!
A nice property overall with a good view
There were bugs in our bed. It was disgusting. Bartender/reception was not friendly or welcoming.
Very relaxing place and calm vibes with breathtaking views of the ocean and sunsets. It’s a big place with a ton of seating and chilling opportunities and so much to see and explore. There are super friendly dogs and a monkey family which we absolutely loved. The bed was huge and very comfy. There is direct access to the water during high tide (no typical beach). It is fun to explore the low tide (best to wear water shoes for protection). The staff were very friendly. We found the food okay and the drinks really nice. Will come back!
Coffee/tea seems to be made with salt water which is a bit unusualBathroom could be renovated, maybe a separation between shower and toilet
Amazingly friendly & cheerful staff. Big rooms & great value for money. Food was fantastic & situated just off the beaten track, but with plenty of restaurants & activity just a short walk away. Loved it.
Great breakfast, really comfortable rooms, good drinks and food.
Often had to ask for new beach towells, facilities weren’t checked enough and sometimes ordering a water took too long
