VRclub Paje Palms Beach Resort

We got an upgrade from the Seaview deluxe bungalow to the family bungalow 105. If we would not get the upgrade we would have canceled the property. The staff in general is very friendly and helpful.

The resort is a French bastion. English language is not very common. As German fellows you feel very displaced. All informations are only available in French language. The all inclusive drink package does only cover local spirits which are bad alcohol. Drinks get only served at one bar by small glasses, even beer. They have 2 more bars but useless staff unable to serve proper drinks. The whole property is badly maintained and the french owner of the resort has handled us very impolite. The food buffet was very basic. There are no entertainment premises present just some pool activities organized by french entertainers. The massage facility cannot be suggested because of lack of knowledge. We highly suggest to advertise this resort only to french people all other nationalities will feel very unconfortable. We cannot suggest that resort at all Our matrazze was old and has to be changed even in the upgraded guesthouse. The toaster in the restaurant does not work proper. Food presentation was lousy. Food barely tasty. Served wine was not chilled and stray cats hanging around the restaurant looking for food which disturbs many guests.

The location is nice , the room was right on the beach with an amazing view when you wake up

The food was pretty bad mostly went to other resorts to eat , there is no proper bar next to the beach or pool . Horrible coffe , they don’t have a profesional coffee eapresso machine so forget about a cappuccino or a nice espresso in the morning had to go to another place near by for decent coffee. As well they don’t have any fresh juice ! The staff is mostly ignoring you for any request , you have to remind them multiple times for even a bottle of water. Towels are old and rugged almost falling apart. They only have a few sunbeds on the beach so it’s a struggle to get one if you don’t t wake up early .

The staff is so well trained, polite, warm, pleasant, always smiling, so quick to respond to any situation. The property is beautiful, so clean, the garden looks amazing, every pool is so clean all the time. The kitchen is great, food delicious, especially the restaurant at Maua beach. The managers of the hotel obviously gave a special welcome!

Everything perfect

It was amazing! There's something for everyone. The hotel offers fantastic entertainment (volleyball, cooking classes, water sports). It's right on the beach. For those who enjoy culture, you can take a walk to the nearby town. We stayed there for over 20 days. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and always smiling. The standards are at a high European level. Highly recommend!

Property is huge, beautiful with a nice beachfront .

Can be better managed . Housekeeping is not prompt to resolve the issues . We asked for 5 blankets for our group but they said only two available. Bathroom Pipes choked , despite of calling them again n again, they couldn’t resolve it . Door hinges broken, no response from them. It could be resolved with little things sorted out.

Staff was super friendly since the moment I walked in. If you are looking for something private then stay here! Everything is on site, taxi, breakfast lunch and dinner. Room was spacious and clean. There are two pools and 3 bars. The beach is out front. I’m serious, don’t think about it just book it and see for yourself! I usually don’t leave reports but I had to. Tony the beach server was really sweet and made my stay comfortable.

The villas were big enough to accomodate a big family

The food!Breakfast, Buffet lunch and dinner not value for money at all, The electricity went off in the middle of the night and it took them more than one hour to switch on the genset! Appliances are too old! At the bar they only have one type of beer (Safari!) The hotel is too old and it needs a serious renovation!

I had to ask for almost everything. Cleaners forgoting to place toiletries and water. Complained about TV not working the whole period of stay and never getting attention. The mosquito nets had multiple holes on them

The beach is nice and beautiful. The rooms and the resort, in general, are clean. The staff are friendly. The location is away from the noisy streets yet close to shops and hospital(s). The beach is nice to walk on during low tides and there are a bunch of neighboring resorts you can stop by for a meal or coffee.

The food is not good at all in the resort. We stayed for 6 days, so we were able to try most of their menu and breakfast service and i must say i was very disappointed. They can't make a latte or capuccino or drinks, thats now bad it was. There is no common area in the resort that has an aircon or a fan, so you are always hot. The Aircon in the rooms are of low capacity, so even on the coldest and highest settings, the room is warm. There are no phones in the room so ordering room service is not an option. The wifi is not stable and often drops connection. The staff are friendly but they lack general knowledge in customer service, maybe it is a cultural thing, I am not sure. Everthing is over priced, like water, sodas, currency exchange, sim card service, etc., The service is very slow, if you order a sandwich, or request cleaning or luggage pick up, it is normal for the order or the service to take 40 minutes plus. The breakfast service was a nightmare, so we only went there once. Again I can not tell you if these are the resort's standards or this is the standard of the country itself.

very spacious resort , this is not room but little house for everybody very spacious , large bathroom view on the beach , 2 very good swimming pool , very good break fast with a lot of choice , good animations , very good beach …we had a issue with mosquito net and it was immediately replaced .the management is perfect still can’t understand why this hotel doesn’t have better review

I often come to the east of Zanzibar for work, and without a doubt Vr Club is my favorite place. Starting with the very professional management staff, available and always attentive to the needs of their customers! The hotel and restaurant staff are well trained and always present even at night. The familiar atmosphere that you feel makes you feel at home even if you are thousands of kilometers away from home. It has various types of rooms, apartments and villas to satisfy even the most demanding requests. In addition there is a staff of entertainers who organize various excursions and events one of which is called Zanzibiza, an event that lasts all day where you can do Yoga, you can admire art exhibitions and local markets, and in the evening eat fabulous food and dance all together to the music of famous internationally renowned DJs. Thanks again to the whole team!

WiFi was really strong! Finally after many days in Zanzibar I could manage my job things coz internet connection is really bad everywhere around. Breakfast was delicious! Didn't see in many place such a variety of food. Staff is really cool guys! Always trying to help and always care about you.Beach Restaurant-amazing spot! I work there with my laptop - ocean view and good fresh food - perfect combination!Rooms are super clean. Well maintained. Huge place then you feel comfortable to not see all guests around you. Thanks to All.Great choice!Definitely will be back!

Local staff were very friendly, although could of had more knowledge of the food and drinks on the menu.Location was great as we wanted a chill few days away from the masses.Good pizza.

Worst breakfast in any hotel.Unbelievably bad exchange rate. The whole place is old and run down.It has a lot of potential, but seems badly run.No organisation. Bad cocktails.No vibe in the hotel.Cheap bedding in the rooms and old towels.Extra drinks added to my bill.
