    Pros +

    • Wonderful property, and most of the staff was excellent. Everything is thoughtful and beautiful. I had an amazing massage
    • Beautiful grounds, nice room, clean. Beach beautiful and not busy with beach boys selling items.
    • Loved the location, staff, and the restaurant. The pools were wonderful and the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. The room was comfortable and private. Staff was helpful and the spa treatment was life changing!!!

    Cons -

    • I used the hotel to book airport transfers, and had bad experiences both ways. The staff of the transportation company was rude and didn’t seem to know what they were doing. It was stressful both ways and soured the whole experience. My “sea view” bungalow technically had a sea view, it was just a sliver in the distance if you looked past the trees, roofs, and through the dining area. Just wasn’t what you’d expect from that name and upcharge. Should have just saved my money with a garden view, would have been quieter, too.
    • Service at the restaurant was poor and food inconsistent.
    • The only small thing was the bed. Otherwise we truly loved everything!!

My stay at this place was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the kindness and warmth of the people—it truly made the experience unforgettable. The accommodations were stunning, with every detail thoughtfully designed to create a sense of comfort and luxury. The service was impeccable, with staff going above and beyond to ensure every need was met. And to top it all off, the location was breathtaking, offering sweeping views of the ocean that made every moment feel magical. It was a perfect blend of beauty, hospitality, and relaxation—an experience I’ll cherish forever.

There was nothing I didn't like about this property.

As it is small and cozy hotel then eating( also breakfast) is a la carte and kitchen is really good, coffee is good and restaurant seating area(outdoors only) provides relaxing views. Nice choice of wines and cocktails served from glass like tableware even at the pool/beach area.Local "salesman" are polite enough and not too many, they are also kept away from Hotel territory. Two hotels share same facilities but remain a boutique quality.Staff is friendly and helpful. Trips are organized even with with short notice.Nearby at the beach also many other eating places, which we did not visit as hotel restaurant provides variety of good quality food (probably not always cheapest choice in the jambiani beach)Rooms are spacious and bed was good. You can use either fan or AC. Nice touch with complimentary beach bag and hats for use during your stay. Excellent wifi in rooms and outdoor areas.Beautiful outdoor areas, with lot of sunbeds, swings and seating areas. Small pools are with good temperature.Electricity outage is rather regular, but this is more about country than hotel maybe.

I liked generally everything. If to comment anything then outdoor seating areas are in some cases decorated with colorful canvas pillows, which could be cleaned or changed more frequently.Very limited closet room

Location away from town but right on the beach. Quiet. Gorgeous room design and decoration. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I hope you pay them very well.

Great breakfast with a variety of options incl. all eggs types, pancakes, fruits and porridge. Great view over the ocean.

Took long to get there from Airport/Stone Town. Location is 1.5 hours from only airport on the island.

The property was lovely- spread out with a long stretch of beach and with sufficient lounge chairs, hammocks, swings to enjoy the beach.. Staff were amazing and catered to all my needs! Food was delicious and I loved my drinks too.. The room was comfy with minimalist decor that I really liked. I felt safe as a solo traveler.

I used the spa (which I am not sure if it was outsourced) and while the massage was relaxing, I felt the spa could be upgraded to match the quality of the hotel.

The staff were the real winners here! They made us feel like we were VIP special guests and were all so friendly and helpful. They organised a local sail boat ride and there were lots of facilities available. We had a table reserved for us every night at the restaurant with a nice view of the beach. The room was stunning~ it truly felt like we were on a retreat and our room was immaculately made up by the house keeping staff. We hope to return one day!

The hotel décor is very nice and we were lucky to have a family room with air conditioning. The staff were generally helpful and polite. The spa was fantastic, the beauticians were very experienced and we had incredibly relaxing massages. The wifi coverage was quite good and reliable.

Service was slow and prices high for the sort of food served. We found that staff needed a few reminders to provide information, for example you need to contact reception through WhatsApp and the staff forgot to give us the number. I was also assured I would receive an itemised check out bill and I had to contact the hotel twice after the end of the trip to receive the bill, which was not appropriately itemised. The food offered was quite basic European food, which was rather disappointing. It was difficult to move around and explore different places to eat as the hotel is located on a road in severe disrepair. Driving out to other areas takes a while given the state of the road and although you can walk along the beach other places, it also takes a long time, so you are essentially stuck with the food on offer. A few of the hotel’s design elements are borderline nonsensical: the hotel does not have paving, therefore as soon as you step out of your room you are on beach sand. The hotel does not offer slippers and therefore you drag sand into your room, even after having cleaned your feet on the taps outside the room. The hotel also does not sell water bottles, so when you go to the beach you are unable to have a bottle of water with you and have to return to the bar constantly to be able to drink. The hotel also only has refillable glass bottles, which you have to go and refill at one of the water stations if you run out of water before the housekeepers refill the bottles. The hotel recycled alcohol bottles to use as water bottles and we found mould in one of these bottles that was being reused at the restaurant. A person in our group accidentally dropped one of the refillable bottles in the room and was asked to pay 20USD upon check out to replace it – even though the hotel clearly had access to plenty different types of water bottles. This charge was insulting as we spent around 3000USD during our stay.

Beautifully unspoilt part of Zanzibar’s east coast. Not too many Beach Hawkers although they weren’t pushy and respected hotel’s open boundaries.

Difficult to get constant hot water in the room - fortunately the weather meant tepid showers were fine. Although the staff were very attentive, it would have been better had they regularly checked to see if we wanted drinks during the day versus us having to go to the bar itself. The property entrance from the public road is uninspiring and initial impressions upon arrival weren’t good although quickly dispelled once we got to the reception area.

The location was lovely. The staff helped with organizing activities. The area was really quiet at night.

The restaurant is right in front of the bungalows, so you would smell food cooking during the day.

It is a very quiet place to stay in. Excellent location, by the Jambiani beach. Staff pay attention to every little detail. The manager and his team take good care of you. You are not a room number, you are "guest"! The room is super clean.I wish I had stayed longer or at least finished my Zanzibari trip there. It was a top choice!

    Nothing at all.

Walking barefoot between the beach, the room, the restaurant. The staff is super welcoming as well as food that is really delicious

Check-out at 10.45 is no-sense. It should be at 12 as in all hotels. It’s a bit odd such time giving the room rate per night you pay. They propose late check-out for 70$ which is no good value for money if you leave in the early afternoon.

Our honeymoon at Sharazad Boutique Hotel was filled with memorable experiences that made our stay special. The hotel's prime location provided us with easy access to local restaurants, shopping, and attractions, making our exploration of the area both convenient and enjoyable. What we particularly appreciated was the attention to detail and special efforts made by the hotel to celebrate our honeymoon. The room was beautifully decorated with flowers, and the surprise champagne added a touch of luxury to our celebration. The beach dinner arranged for us in the gazebo was nothing short of magical, creating an unforgettable evening under the stars. Additionally, the afternoon dhow boat ride offered us a unique and relaxing way to experience the local waters and scenery. The pool area was another highlight of our stay. It was always clean, with the water temperature just perfect for cooling off after a day in the sun.Despite some challenges with the WiFi and electricity, the hotel's efforts to maintain comfort through generators and clean amenities were evident and appreciated. The room was always kept clean, contributing to a comfortable and pleasant stay.In conclusion, while there were aspects of the resort that could be improved, the positive experiences and the heartfelt efforts made by the staff to ensure our honeymoon was special left us with fond memories of our time at Sharazad Boutique Hotel

While our stay at Sharazad Boutique Hotel had its high points, there were several aspects that detracted from our overall experience. Firstly, the hotel's Wi-Fi connectivity was quite poor, making it difficult for us to stay connected when needed. Additionally, we encountered occasional electricity outages. Although the hotel had generators, these disruptions were still inconvenient. We found the lack of adequate fans in the rooms particularly challenging, as it made the evenings uncomfortably warm. A simple improvement like keeping the doors open with screens during the turn down service could enhance airflow significantly.Another aspect that fell short of our expectations was the absence of conditioner in the showers. We also faced a minor yet notable inconvenience with the electrical outlets - the room featured EU outlets, but the coffee maker required a UK plug, which was a bit of a mismatch.Dining at the hotel's restaurant tested our patience due to the extremely slow service, often extending meal times to up to two hours. Additionally, the presence of bees and flies, especially when ordering food with honey, was bothersome and something future guests might want to be aware of.While the location and certain amenities of the hotel were commendable, these aspects of our stay highlighted a need for improvement in both service and facilities to truly match a 4-star rating.
