Pros +
- Gorgeous gorgeous rooms with an even better pool. Out of four stays in Zanzibar this was our favorite. It checked off everything; great location, clean, nice restaurant, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
- The privacy and the supporting staff was topnotch . Clean environment we felt like home far from home ❤️❤️?
- Great little place and the restaurant was very good… we appreciated staying in the casa area with a private pool only for Casa guests and no children. The staff were wonderful and so helpful!
Cons -
- Hot water a little finicky
- Not a lot to do in Paje but beach is beautiful. When the tide is out, you can’t swim as it’s very far out!The people selling things on the beach are friendly but pretty irritating but you just have to keep saying no!
- The only downside was that the WiFi didn’t work well in the rooms. We only mentioned it to the manager at checkout, and it felt like they took our feedback seriously. On the positive side, the WiFi in the restaurant worked well, so it was manageable.

Great location, the restaurant was great. Loved sitting by the pool in the evenings.
The staff were very friendly and always willing to help with a smile, which made the stay feel warm and welcoming. The location is excellent, with direct access to the beach, and the on-site restaurant and breakfast were very enjoyable. Breakfast included eggs made to order, good coffee, plenty of fruits and vegetables, as well as pancakes, waffles, yogurt, and meat. The pool area was quiet and relaxing. The receptionist helped us book a tour to Mnemba Island, which turned out to be a wonderful experience.

We stayed at this hotel during our vacation, and overall the experience was excellent. The food was delicious, the service attentive, the room comfortable, and the location perfect.Unfortunately, our last day was overshadowed by an unpleasant experience with some racist individuals who clearly did not appreciate sharing the same space with us. While this was not the fault of the hotel itself, it did leave us with a very negative final impression of our trip. The hotel staff and facilities were wonderful, but I hope management can do more in the future to ensure that all guests feel safe, respected, and welcomed.
The staff were amazing and very friendly and the place was really comfortable
That the janitors come in the morning and have to clean the room, i just wish there was a no disturbance sign
Absolutely everything. Staff was very attentive and all people very kind and helpful. Was our honeymoon and they prepared a surprise. Room even had an afternoon quick cleaning for changing towels and stuff.
I have nothing to complain about. My stay was perfect.
Title: Beautiful Aesthetic and Peaceful Stay – Would Definitely ReturnI really enjoyed my stay at this hotel in Zanzibar. The aesthetic and vibe were exactly as pictured — natural, tropical, and peaceful. It had that laid-back, island charm that made it easy to relax and soak in the beauty of the surroundings. The design felt authentic and warm, not overly commercialized, which I appreciated.Even though the hotel didn’t offer many activities or extras for the price, I still found the overall atmosphere to be worth the experience. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable — perfect for unwinding and getting some rest.Yes, there were some areas for improvement (especially with the breakfast), but the peaceful environment and the authentic Zanzibar aesthetic made it feel like a true getaway. Would I come back? Absolutely.
Title: Aesthetic Was Great, But Overall Value Didn’t Match the PriceWhile the hotel looks exactly how it’s presented in photos — beautiful and relaxing — the overall value didn’t quite live up to the price point. The aesthetic was on point, and the ambiance was definitely what I was looking for, but beyond that, the experience felt a bit underwhelming. The breakfast was very subpar — not much variety, and the quality didn’t reflect the cost of the stay. There also weren’t many amenities or added comforts offered by the hotel. For the rate they charge, I expected more in terms of service, options, and overall hospitality. If you’re just looking for a calm and beautiful place to rest, it delivers on that front. But if you’re expecting premium service, thoughtful extras, or a more complete resort-like experience, you may be disappointed.
My sister and I stayed at the Casa Ananda Boutique Hotel and it was just beautiful! The room was exactly as pictured and surrounded a gorgeous pool. Just a 1 minute walk and you will get to the hotel restaurant where breakfast is served and the food there is delicious (we ate there a few nights). The restaurant overlooks the beach and it is so peaceful to watch both the sunrise and sunset. I would definitely stay again!
There was really nothing not to like! Two only small things is we had to ask to get our room cleaned and the hot water for the showers sometimes only stayed warm for a short period of time. But truthfully, such a beautiful hotel!
The included breakfast was a very nice bonus. The staff was friendly. The location was excellent central to most things.
Beautiful hotel. Rooms were great and spacious. Private, and quiet. Quick and beautiful walk to the beach. Already planning our next trip!
No idea why this place does not have all 10s. The "I"s are dotted and the "T"s are crossed. Must be the best place to stay on the island. I was lucky to get a room. It was showing full, then all of a sudden availability popped up and I grabbed it. Good thing I did!
Lovely hotel so close to the beach, beautiful view and pool, especially way to the beach has lot of flowers! Relaxing music and quiet time with family, enjoying the nature around.
Absolutely nothing, everything was excellent!
A really nice location! The part that we stayed in was beautiful and very well made. The staff was super friendly and helpful and made our stay very pleasant. We also really liked the food at Hello Capitano!
The bed was super squeaky, as soon as one of us moved during the night the other one woke up. On top of that the room was not very soundproof whereas we were a bit disturbed by other guest around 1-2pm in the night.
Nice and quiet location! Rooms was clean and comfortable.
Housekeeping was slow and forgot almost every day something (like towels and water). Sewer smells horrible during and after a shower.
Amazing hotel experience. In the perfect location of Paje village - the stunning beach and breakfast place is 1min walk, while the village life is happening right across the hotel premises. The hotel area is very beautiful, including the pool and the room itself - a real holiday getaway vibe. While you are in a buzzy village, inside the hotel premises it feels very remote, quiet and relaxing. The air conditioner worked perfectly, Wi-Fi was decent, the electricity outages lasted very shortly since the hotel has the generators. The room was cleaned twice a day, incl. the spraying from mousquitos. There are some local souvenirs shops around and slightly bigger markets to buy food 10min walk. Many good restaurants are minutes walk on the beach coast. Last but not least, the hotel staff is friendly, welcoming, and allowing you to enjoy the space. There is a security guard presmising the area almost all the times.
Casa Ananda is situated right on the beach which is really convenient. Majority of staff were really nice, especially many thanks to Sina and Amon. Room was cleaned twice a day, bed was super comfortable. The restaurant Hello Capitano served really nice food. Regular power cuts are normal in Zanzibar so that wasn't a problem at all, and all was always resolved quite fast anyway. Thank you for all your care, I will definitely be back. In fact going again in June, so definitely see you then.
Everything was great.
This was an amazing stay. The bed was a 10/10 for comfort. The room was equipped with everything I needed. Breakfast included was a great addition. I will stay here again for my next adventure in Paje. Excellent service!!
The bathroom had a strong and persistent oder. The pool chairs could use a cleaning.
Everything was great, 10 second walk to the beach. The restaurant, Hello Capitano, had amazing food. The staff were great and the fact that it was a small hotel meant you never had to fight for loungers or be disrupted by noise.
