    Pros +

    • Quiet, beautiful place in a great location
    • Everything was perfect, the host was the sweetest man I ever met. He is trying very hard to learn English to make it easier for us foreigners, which is thought to be very considerate, and is always smiling. Just be careful if you're tall, the bed could be too small for you (190cm is the limit)
    • It met all my requirements: affordable, clean and convenient. I would stay here again.

    Cons -

    • Mattress wasn't so good need to be more comfy
    • Bed mattress a little thin. Can only wash dishes in bathroom ( but at least they made sure to have a sponge and soap <3 ) Offered single use disposables- and also had a couple plates, mugs and bowls to use ( id like more reusables :) Black out dark in the morning unless you open your curtains so slept until noon!
    • The place is a little smelly but it’s because of the other guests

The reception dude was so nice! And so welcoming. Made sure to let me know not to be shy to ask questions :)So clean, and they offer razors ear plugs, towel all for free. Great shampoo conditioner and body soap!

One of the best hostels I've stayed in during the last couple of months. Everything is impeccably clean. Reception guy is friendly and making a real effort to keep everything tidy. A free towel is provided (along with earplugs, a toothbrush, and a razor). There's a water dispenser, free tea and coffee, and a fridge to store your food. The location is great, very close to Deer Park. I also appreciated the female washroom with its stronger water pressure ?

    Nothing really, everything was gucci

Good for a short stay. Location is good and close to the deer park. Showers and toilets are really clean and the common areas are ok.

The beds could be more comfortable with a better mat, right now is like sleeping on a wooden table. Walls are very thin so you can hear everything your neighbors do. Something no one says in any review: is next to a 24/h gym, so you can feel and hear whenever someone is running on the treadmill and it is really annoying.

Good hostel. Kind of a quiet vibe. Good common area. Right near everything in Nara, plus a good supermarket like 200m away.

Location: The location is absolutely perfect, as you are located right at Higashimuki, which is one of the main shopping streets of Nara. You are also right by Kintetsu-Nara station, as well as the entrance to the Nara Park complex (including Todai-ji, Kōfuku-ji, Kasuga-taisha, and several museums). The large Sanjo-dori shopping street is also within your immediate vicinity. There are cafes, restaurants and convenience stores all around the hostel as well, so all your basic needs will definitely be covered.Amenities: The showers and bathroom were very clean and modern. Towels etc. were of high quality.Staff: The staff was very kind and attentive. One staff member actually called out to us just outside the building, as we initially walked past the actual entrance to the hostel. He then led us to the reception and also called over some other staff to take care of us, very pleasant experience overall. The lady at the reception also spoke perfect English, which is actually quite uncommon among the wide variety of hostels in Japan that we've stayed at - that's probably another big plus for some guests, who may feel a bit lost when only being able to rely on Japanese or digital translation services to take care of check-in processes.Lounge area: The lounge area was fairly spacious and very pleasant. There were lots of seats, enabling you to either work on your own stuff or engage with other hostel guests in conversation. There was also a high quality drinking water dispenser, as well as a fridge and some free amenities. Also located in the lounge area was a specific work capsule that you could use/rent to work in, without worrying about being affected by noise or causing too much noise yourself. There were also two large luggage areas to store your luggage during either pre-check-in or post-check-out periods.

While it was pleasant in the dorm space, it did get quite hot within the sleeping capsule itself (a bit more so than at other dorms and capsule hotels). The futons and pillows were also quite hard/rough, more so than what we've experienced so far in Japan. If you like a hard surface to sleep on like me, it won't be too much of an issue. Otherwise, it might take some adjusting at first.

    - Friendly staff - Great location - Clean - Nice interior design - Nice and spacious common area

    - Free water dispenser would be great

Everything is organised, and you have access to everything promised (common room with microwave and kettle, bathrooms and hair dryer, washing machine, bed and space underneath to put your luggages). The check-in and out procedures are simple.

It did not bother me, but the wifi is not the best at times, and you can feel the vibration/noise from the gym underneath.

The manager was lovely, he upgraded my reservation even if it was booked last minute.Bed was a bit creaky but comfortable.Location was top.Surely a good solution for a short stay in Nara

    10SakinaPosted on: 4-4-2025

Quite clean and very comfortable. The admins were both incredibly nice. Mr. Takeru, and unfortunately I don’t know the other admin’s name. Kitchen facilities aren’t available, only a microwave, but it was manageable.

    10JennPosted on: 4-2-2025

It was very nice. We arrived late and the host was very nice. He leaves a letter with a printed paper with all the explanations in your prefered language (English for us) I found that is very cute.

    7OldraPosted on: 2-23-2025

Nice staff, easy access to the hotel, clean bathroom and toilets, enough space in your “room”.

    7DavidPosted on: 12-13-2024

Bare bones hostel style accomodations. No staff on hand, but that doesn't necessarily pose a problem. There is a closet to leave luggage for the day after checkout, which was a great bonus. It's not locked or even watched, so leave luggage at your own risk.

Lack of staff is okay for hotels, but for hostels, I prefer having someone on staff for orientation. No major issue, but just a preference.

Location was very good. Showers good

Main bright Lights permanently on in bedroom with no way to turn off. Really poor.We were able to walk from street into bedroom and baggage storage easily with no staff anywhere even before we had check in info.

    Location good

The capsules were more than uncomfortable, the beds upstairs were super noisy so we didn’t sleep at all. The shower was flooded so had to wait to take shower till the water was gone. Facilities super dirty (tables, couch, floor) and no staff at all.Wouldn’t recommend!!! Super expensive!!!

    5AndreaPosted on: 3-29-2024

    The location

The bed weren't like in the pictures on booking, they were a little hard (they are futon). There was a little space for luggage.

Amazing showers! The best ones we got to use in a hostel in Japan. Hot water, great current, heating and a place to organize!

No staff. The bed number was waiting for us at the reception and we left money in an envelope - there is no one to contact if there is a problem and if you want to pay in cash you must leave it exactly. In addition, the thinnest chives we've had in Japan!!!
