    Pros +

    • Near Nara shopping street and historical area. The naan was surprisingly good.
    • Hotel upgraded our room during our honeymoon. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Largest room during our trip.
    • • Very well decorated and considerate inside the rooms and lobby. The seated dry foot bath section was a nice amenity! Lobby also had computers, a piano, and a nice set of complementary games and toys. Even some for children, when I visited.• Helpful staff, souvenirs and good tourist information ? • Not far from cultural attractions, outlets or the urban center.• Room service takes cleanliness seriously.

    Cons -

    • Laundry takes a while to complete drying cycle. The rooms are very small, and the fold-out couch option is uncomfortable. There is a lingering damp smell in the hallway. Waiting to check in took longer than usual.
    • Room was a little older looking compared to our other stays. However this may be due to the "older looking town" and not any fault to the hotel itself.
    • • The bed was a decent in firmness, though the pillows were the ones that feel like there's...beads in them? • Breakfast was fine, but a bit light for the price.

Brilliant, excellent location. I was surprised with my room size, especially in Japan. Nice size. As for the staff, all of them, just wonderful, super helpful and professional people. Thank you very much and see all of you again soon.

The location was great near the train station.

The hotel was bit older and the the breakfast was average.

Very close to Nara station, room was modern in traditional style, location great for food/Nara park area.

The washing machines don't have a lock on them. Shouldn't be an issue but we had our washing took out by other guests who put it in a dryer! Not good as we had do not tumble dry items thrown in by other guests. Not the hotels faults but the machines should maybe have locks put on.

Close to Nara station and friendly staff, good sized room and good value

The pavement outside the hotel is a little bit rough for big luggage hauling, it’s not about the hotel though

Location was convenient, as we came with Kintetsu from Kyoto and left to Osaka from the main station - the hotel is just between them and in walking distance from both.

Breakfast was awful. The coffee was just luke warm, tasted like coffeecups' washing water. They brought a whole tray of foodstuffs that I did not ask for, and at the same time they did not have basic breakfast ingredients...

Extremely good service and facilities, I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, it’s conveniently close from the train station and you can easily walk to the Nara park and all the temples. A nice addition - dry hot feet bath in a lobby to relax your feet after a long day of walking. Either I got it on a good deal, but this was the place I paid the least on all my trip in Japan and got the best service.

The breakfast was ok. It could do with fresher pastries and more generous options. Very helpful and friendly staff though.

The room was very narrow and tight for 3 people.

amenities, dry foot bath, close to main railway station

room small and crowded, sofa bed uncomfortable, room is not ventilated well

Good rooms with comfortable beds. Very nice breakfast with a helpful staff. The hotel is located near the railway stations.

The bathroom was a bit small and the elevator can be slow sometimes.

Room with very good dimensions for the reality of Japan. Very pleasant common spaces. Very friendly and attentive staff. Very good breakfast. Excellent location. I loved it and highly recommend this hotel in Nara.

    Everything was excellent.

Location was great being so close to the station. Easy to locate, big sign on building easy to spot from the station for direction. Room was a good size, clean & comfortable. Happy with my choice.

We used luggage storage prior to check in as we were early. First staff member lovely, helpful & friendly. On return we were met with a rude staff member who didn’t listen to me about my luggage and practically yelled at me for my name. SO RUDE! She was definitely not a Japanese staff member! I was shocked as this is not Japanese culture how to treat anyone. Put me right off the hotel. The rest of my experience with other staff was wonderful. That staff member needs more training and manners.

Great hotel with larger than average Japanese sized rooms. Hotel was easy to access and close to everything you will want to do in Nara.

Conveniently close to the JR station, nice room, excellent staff, nice touches such as the deer decorations in the foyer and the dry hot stone floot bath after lots of walking.

    Humiliatingly Bad.

Worst stay I've ever had. To start, a cleaner walked into my room after I shouted "no thanks," found me in my underwear, and instead of leaving immediately, she requested to put towels inside. It was uncomfortable for about 10 seconds until I made her leave. It gets worse. The night before my checkout, I wanted to send my bags to my next hotel, something common in Japan. I went to the front desk and spent nearly two hours there, when it usually takes less than 5 minutes. The guy at the front desk was painfully slow, had poor English, and even stopped to help three other groups of customers. By 1:30am, I was exhausted. After finally paying, he decided to weigh my suitcase and said it was too heavy to send. Why wait until after 90 minutes and my payment to do this? I opened my suitcase, removed items, and placed them in another bag I had with me. He confirmed the suitcase was now fine, but when I asked to send the new bag, he told me I had to take it with me. I was confused, so I asked why, and he said it was too small to send. This was a lie—later, I sent that same bag from another location, and it wasn’t even their smallest size. He was just lazy. I remained polite throughout. At 2:40am, I was woken by a loud ringing—turns out it was the room phone. I answered, and it was the front desk guy asking me to come back down. I got dressed and went downstairs, where he told me I needed to pay an extra 300 yen (around $2) because he had measured my suitcase wrong. I was woken in the middle of the night for a mistake he made. The hotel should’ve covered this or at least waited until the morning. I politely confronted him and asked him not to call me again. He kept saying "sorry" in a ridiculous tone, just trying to get me to go away. This was the worst treatment I’ve ever received at a hotel, and it was also the most expensive one I stayed at in my two months in Japan. Absolutely ridiculous.
