    Cons -

    • I need a invoice and the hotel can't issue to me because I payed to booking.com online, How can I get a invoice?
    • The hotel itself is in desperate need of updating and a deep cleaning. It did not feel clean. There are no private showers, only public showers and a bath that is available in the evening. Not everyone in my family was happy about this, but others were fine with it. Probably a little overpriced for the quality of the facility.
    • No breakfast available.Pillows were really hard.

The location is truly excellent. It was a quiet, peaceful, traditional ryokan. The Japanese breakfast was good but not great. The room was plenty large enough.

Nice big room with shower and bathtub.Perfect location not far from the train station.

No breakfast available.Pillows were really hard.

The location was terrific. By a pond where you could see the famous deerr from my window. The royokan style room was a bonus. Futon was very comfortable.

The overall atmosphere just did not have that Japanese zing and warm that other ryokan accommodations had.Also. I never saw another guest. Strange how empty the place felt during Golden Week. The onsen needs to have more hours to attend Especially in the early morning. No one but.me was ever there. Strange.

The breakfast was excellent! The location could not have been more perfect - right next to a nice pond and kitty corner from a temple. I especially enjoyed my interaction with such great group of staff. They were professional, helpful and very welcoming. Mr. Prakash was a super host who answered all of my inquiries right away and went out of his way to help. He allowed to keep my luggage for a later pick up and was very accommodating. I had such wonderful and memorable stay in Nara, thanks to you and your staff, Mr. Prakash! I would definitely stay at this property during my next visit!

Amazing location, right next to Nara park and a short walk from Kintetsu Nara station and town. The rooms were beautiful and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful!

Location very close to Nara park and the temples. Nice onsen bath available.

No meal option. It’s just a hotel.

This was a single-night "inbetween" stay that I hadn't put much thought into. The ryokan was comfortable, the staff friendly, and the location quite nice. Breakfast was lovely.

The location is great and the staff are helpful and friendly. There is a nice lounge downstairs as communal space.

Took a weekend day trip to Nara in the midst of a multi-week business trip to Osaka-Kyoto-Tokyo. Nice little ryokan with warm service and homey Japanese-style room. Futon was set up on arrival. Decent room size, gracious hosts, and very good Japanese breakfast (they bring it straight to your room at a pre scheduled time). Public bath is small but no complaints, as it does the trick if you're in need of some relaxation. Coin laundry on premises worked well. Location is 10 minutes walk from Nara Park in one direction and 5 minutes walk from the main street with restaurants and shops in the other direction.

    Location, bed

    Onsen showers wouldn’t heat.

The breakfast (for an extra fee) is very delicious!Wonderful and friendly staff, amazing location, comfortable, clean and spacious room. Public bath. Can leave luggage before check in and after check out.

The hot water in the public bath is not very hot. The public bath area itself is very cold! Shower water is not very hot either, and temperature can't be changed.Light switches for the room are outside near the door, not convenient to turn off before bedtime. The same picture on the video on the TV every day! it would be nice to change the video/ photos once in a while!

The location is convenient. Everything is within walking distance. The environment is calm and quiet. The rooms were very traditional and served its purpose. Beds were comfortable and blankets were soft too.

The room is a bit dated.

I just loved to stay at Ryokan Kousen. The location is just incredible, 5 minutes away from Kintetsu Nara station and right at the entrance of Nara Park. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating, my room (a private room) was sparkling clean and the breakfast served in the room was so fulfilling I couldn't finish. Absolutely recommended

    Awesome location!

Abit dated and quiet and comfortable! Friendly staff too!

Everything! This was such a treat of a place. I wish we could have stayed longer. The staff are so kind and helpful; the futons were comfortable; the breakfast was the best I had in Japan and the location could not have been better. Super close to Nara Park and also walking distance from both train stations

The bathroom was clean but a bit dated. Not a big deal at all
