The room was large and comfortable; the public baths were nice and clean; the all you can eat shabu shabu dinner was delicious. Also the drinks lounge was really pleasant.

There is nothing I did not like.

Friendly staff, great location, the bathroom is really big and nice and there is a lot of amenities! There is coffee, drinks, ice cream and snacks for guests in the lobby. Great price for all of these benefits.

Great service, cases were taken to the room prior to check in. Very good rooms, spacious and cosy.

Staff was really friendly and welcoming. Futons in the room was amazing. Free drinks and snacks in the evening. Onsen was perfect (I was alone in both of them). Breakfast was good.

That they dont have the half board options from the start. Just after you have booked they notify info about it, but you need to tell them 2days in adwans. I booked same day as i stayd, so no food for me :(

In the afternoon/evening the hotel provides free sake and lemon sour tasting, inclusive of small snacks. This was a pleasant surprise.

Evidence of mould in the bathroom and in the air conditioning. As I’m an asthmatic, this along with the cold wet weather gave me a case of bronchitis.

The hotel is very authentic. "The hotel has a charming vintage vibe, full of stories from years past. Our room, 'Fuju,' was spacious and incredibly comfortable. The staff were exceptional, and the location couldn't have been better—close to Nara Park and the station. While they didn't have washing machines on-site, there's a convenient facility just a 7-minute walk away. The onsen was a good experience to end your day with. Pluses, the hotel lobby has items for sale, good for last-minute suviners

In our room, 'Fuju,' there wasn't a private bathroom, so we had to use the common onsen. As someone who prefers privacy, I was initially disappointed. However, to my surprise, the onsen was empty, allowing me to enjoy a quick bath without any concerns about sharing the space with strangers.

It's not far from the Kintetsu Nara station but it's quite a distance if you have a big or heavy suitcase

I loved this hotel, yes it's dated no denying that but I had a huge room full size bath, the most incredible breakfasts. Staff were lovely especially the breakfast staff, so nice and helpful.The location is terrific 5 mins walk from Nara Station and 10 mins or less from Kintetsu station. They kept my luggage for me after checking out, couldn't be more helpful, I was genuinely sorry to leave here. Incredible value for money

Nothing really, yes it's outdated as far as decor goes but for the amount I paid for the room I'm happy for the decor to be a bit lacking, it was still clean

We stayed there for the new year. The dinner was fantastic (even though there was a LOT of food), and the staff even organized a soba service for free for everyone to celebrate the new year in a traditional japanese way. There was also a free bar and a hearth.

Feels like a relic from the 70s, definitely the largest room i stayed in for my entire japan trip. The two single beds were attached to a headboard with a radio (very retro)Staff were great although english proficiency not ideal for someone without any Japanese skill, we got by using the translator app so all worked out ok

I must have been on a floor with many children stomping around which soured the stay a little but overall ok. Just very loud until very lateAlthough it was a non smoking room it did have an unfortunate smell
