    Pros +

    • The way the compact room space was cleverly designed for maximum comfort and space efficiency! It was a beautiful marriage of Japanese traditional styling and IKEA efficiency, with very comfortable futons for sleeping, a private shower/toilet area, etc.
    • You can use kitchen and utilities to prepare food. There was a place to read and play games as well. The self checkout was efficient. We could have left our luggages before checkin.
    • I stayed with my girlfriend so the room, while cozy, was excellent for our needs. The location is in great proximity to the station, as well as a short walk away to downtown Nara and the deer park. The room had everything we needed and the wifi was great too. Also they were able to store our bags for a couple hours after we checked out while we explore the city.

    Cons -

    • No. This is probably the best hostel I have ever stayed at.
    • The walls were too thin
    • Probably would not recommend the twin bed room for friends or 2 people who are not close, as the bathroom situation can be uncomfortable for some.

    Location, facilities, host/manager, bike rental

Walls are a little thin but there’s a respectful vibe there so volume was low

Good location near the station. Lovely host. Kitchen and real cups. Compact but very reasonably priced

    8DomingoPosted on: 11-22-2025

Bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean, great water pressure when showering.

Stairs to go to room is really small especially when you're carrying luggage. Sink is really cute, can't use it for washing hands or brush teeth. Under beds are dusty. Trash can in toilet is also very cute, like what can you throw in there as its approximately 3x3 inches.

What a wonderful hostel. We loved everything about this hostel. The music in the reception set the tone. Noriko is so kind and helpful. Beautiful small kitchen, where it is possible to do real cooking, if the takeout from the grocery store at the train station was not so good or convenient. We used the bicycles, which were checked and set up for us by the owner. Really enjoyed biking to the nara site and around the small streets. Thanks ?

Good value, clean, option for a room with private bath.

Very small sink in the bathroom. You can leave your bags if you arrive early but it is not in a locked location.

Good location, easy walk to JR station, Nara park, Naramachi neighborhood. Small but comfortable room. Laundry hangers in the bathroom.

    No outlet by the bed

Our host was so friendly and helpful! I was truly sad to leave- I would highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity. It’s affordable, very clean and close to the train station! If you’re going to visit Nara Park, it’s really not that far of a walk. My partner and I most certainly plan on visiting again.

Close to bus station and shopping

The room was small and too tight, including the bathroom.

It is very close to the JR Nara Station as well as Matsuya which is open 24 hours. The bed is very comfortable and the room is clean.

The sink is quite small and difficult to use without splashing the water. Also, for the bathroom cover, it would be nice if there is a clip to ensure it will not accidentally rise and uncover the bathroom for privacy purposes.

It was comfortable, clean and a good location.

    A bit small.

Super cute Japanese guesthouse!! Easy check-in and kind staff. The room is super clean and comfortable. It has everything needed. The bathroom is a bit small, but it's ok. 5 min from Nara station, 20 from Nara Park. I highly recommend this place!!

There is a boiler, so coffee or tea would have been great to have.

Lovely host. Very friendly and helpful. Allowed us to leave baggage and do an early check in, so we could explore Nara. Nara was really lovely and very relaxing. Well located for site-seeing and public transport . Easy walk to the station. Perfect for a quiet and quick stay.

It was small, but so reasonable. So a lovely stop off and worth the squeeze.

Close to Nara JR Station. It's definitely a different experience. There is a small community area on the first floor where one can meet and hang out with new people. Small kitchen is available on the first floor as well. The community area offers a wide-range of books and party-games. Friendly Staff and great location. I will definitely comeback here when I want to spend a night in Nara. Close to the Toyota Rent-a-Car Station as well.

There was only one Towel available, not the end of the world but still. Only cold water from the small sink, not optimal for washing the face. Wasn't an issue for me but the Staircase is quite narrow so walking up with big luggage can get difficult.

Excellent stay, wonderful and friendly hostess, extensive collection of Naruto Manga, very affordable rental of bikes, located centrally near JR Nara line, market, and Nara Park. Accomodation is very clean, and there is amenity for large refrigerator, microwave, and lovely lounge downstairs.Highly recommend this accomodation.Would also recommend that you visit the Mt Kasuga Primeval forest while in Nara and the many wonderful temples, shrines, and museums. Nara is particularly beautiful during Sakura season

A beautiful guesthouse in a quiet neighbourhood in Nara. A clean, spacious room with tatami mat flooring, zaisu chair and comfy futon bed. Complimentary tea and coffee in the kitchen downstairs, and a good selection of manga. Cheap rental bikes for cycling around the city and to Nara park!

    10RolandPosted on: 4-16-2025

Our room had comfy bunk beds perfect for a group of four people. A short walk from Nara station.

The staff is so accommodating... she helped us book our luggage for transfer to our next hotel... even walked an extra mile to confirm our booking in osaka... domo arigato gusaymasu... highly recommend to family and friends....
