JW Marriott Hotel Chengdu

Sit on excellent location. The breakfast is delicious and had a lot of protein.

Hotel needs to follow strict non smoking policy.

Centrally located , close to most attractions, attentive staff, free mini bar, upgrade to a higher floor.

Right in the heart of Chengdu city, with comfort, convenience and luxury, JW Marriot is one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in China. Both adults and kids slept comfortably, and we quite enjoyed the variety of food served at buffet breakfast.

Excellent, extensive buffet breakfast. The rooms were fantastic - wonderful beds and bathrooms, and very spacious. Brilliant location, really convenient.

Service could be improved. The requirement to wear a cap in the pool and to purchase one if needed is surprising at such high end hotels. The spa area felt a little tired.

Great location, spa and breakfast

The hotel is very nice. The breakfast is superb and should be a definite part of the stay. The gym is excellent but the one VERY BIG NEGATIVE involves their lack of ANY ENTERTAINMENT in the rooms. There are NOT any movie channels nor pay per view and for us THIS WAS A VERY BIG NEGATIVE. After a full day, relaxing in a very nice room with a good size screen but WITHOUT ANY CONTENT AT ALL IS TERRIBLE. There is not much to do outside of the hotel so this omission is NOT WHAT WE WOULD EXPECT AT A JW MARRIOTT. It DEFINITELY weighed on our overall enjoyment at this wonderful hotel so travelers BEWARE. We were on the fence of a giving a LOWER RATING DUE TO THIS but believe this review is very accurate. We also should add that we never ate any other meals in the hotel except breakfast so we can not provide any information focusing on food choices during the remainder of the day.

Central location, been staying at the hotel for a few times prior to Covid, that’a why I chose to stay again

Apparently the hotel is under staffed. Used to be quite good but now it’s overlay packed, service very slow. We had to change to another hotel given the experience on the first night.

Modern and spacious room, extensive breakfast, helpful staff, central location

Nice hotel in central Chengdu . We arrived early and was allowed to have breakfast while we waited for our room to be ready. The lounge was also great with amazing staff

People were smoking indoors at the lobby which wasn’t very pleasant

The small and feel of luxury , smart toilets , the view

The room was spacious. We had a great view of the city. Plenty of amenities. Lots of options for breakfast. We really liked the swimming pool as well.The staff were friendly. And it was within walking distance of restaurants, shops, subway stations, and bus stops.

If we have a complaint, it's that there were lots of construction in the surrounding areas when we stayed there.

One of the best hotels during our stay in China. Looks like a recent slick refurb. Great staff and great location

Staff was really nice and welcoming, free mini bar and amenities, free access to executive bar. Breakfast fresh cooked noodle.

We booked 82 square meters room, bed is not extra large double, far smaller. Smoke smell in non smoking room. Lift setup is not right, it seems the engineer is not doing their job, they have 8 lifts, 4 locked, the other 4 were only working 1 or 2 for each time so very crowded and stopped almost every level. Breakfast always full, nobody take us to the seat, most of the time we need to find table by ourselves which is not considering the 5 star hotel standard. Food selection is similar as we stayed for 8 nights, we found boring. Swimming pool always has a lane for swimming lessons, pool is small to compare with other 5 star hotel. Nobody helped us to do the luggage when we left. So many things that is not satisfying.

Good breakfast spread. Excellent location. Very attentive and friendly staff. Rooms well equipped with many bottles of free water.

Toilet was very clean and automatic . Bath tub was clean and comfortable . There was also a personalized handwritten note from the household . Upon checkout , Chris was very helpful and prompt and The lady in glasses with red lipstick manning the breakfast entrance was very polite and attentive despite it being so early in the morning

The room was nicely appointed with the tub and separate shower. Good view of Tinafu Square.

We had about 1kg of laundry done and they tried to charge us $1560 RMB. Absolutely criminal. However in the end the reduced it to $800RMB still about $100USD still totally ridiculous. In hindsight we should have asked the price upfront.
