Kempinski Hotel Chengdu-City Center

The location is great as there’s a metro stop less than 200m down the road. The staff is also excellent- knowledgeable and friendly and able to converse in English.

A bit dated and the smell of smoke lingering in common areas.

I enjoyed staying at Kempinski in Chengdu. Lovely hotel, great spacious, modern and clean rooms. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I was not impressed with swimming pool and spa area but I still would come back here next time. In my opinion it's one of the best hotels in the city alongside The Ritz Carlton and The Temple House.

Clean, good value for money although property is not new. It’s well maintained. Rooms r good size

Good location, pretty near to places of interest & restaurants by subway or by car. Breakfast is good, however, they are the same everyday.

Room temperature cannot be adjusted cause its centralised, a little warm in the room, so the hotel staff open up the windows in the room to let the cold air in.

the staffs are very friendly.

the sound isolation in room is not good. could clearly hear the water pumping when the guest from neighbor room was using the shower.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. Good location with gourmet in 20 minutes walk distance. Free parking offered

Except one person on duty at the reception no one in this hotel is capable of speaking at least the basics of English what is a shame for a brand like Kempinski in my opinion. If you want to use the pool you need to wear a swimming cap. The hotel does only offer you to buy one. Staff at the spa area doesn’t speak a word English.

Brand name

There were hardly any restaurants nearby. There was a small convenience store though. It is about 10 min walk to the metro which is the plus point. We arrived around 7 pm and our encounter with the front desk gave us a less than ideal impression of the hotel. She was curt, clinical and we were surprised by her service attitude for such a brand name hotel chain. Perhaps that was a one-off bad experience from one individual. We have no complains on the other staff.

The breakfast was very good. There was a large selection of different dishes, both Asian and European.The rooms were very spacious and the bathtub was great!There is a subway station near the hotel as well as buses. It's not centrally located, but you can get everywhere easily.You can get to the airport and train station quickly.

At midday the sun shines on the windows so that it gets very warm in the room. The internal air conditioning didn't work so I got an external one. I had to work for a few hours and it was very hot in my hotel room. I had to close the curtains and sat in a dark hotel room at lunchtime. That wasn't very nice.

Lovely room, newly renovated, spacious, clean, really nice toiletries and the bed was comfortable. Also very instagrammable. The hotel staff was very helpful also, helped us book taxis, loaded luggage for us and even helped book tourist tickets.

nothing i didnt like but if i HAD to say something was that the shower pressure could of been abit more powerful.

Room was big and nice. Great view from window. Very comfortable bed. Hotel is very clean. Pool area is nice with hot small pools. Breakfest is very good, big selection of chinese and international food. Great variety of fruits, fresh juices.

Location is not very good, but not far away street food. Shopping also is quite far, need taxi.Sub station is 2 min away

The hotel is in a good central location and a nice area. The rooms have been renovated since I last visited and fee very spacious and comfortable. I only took breakfast one morning but the buffet had a huge range

The wifi was a little patchy at times.

Conveniently located to businesses and within walking distance to my favorite restaurant, the Bookworm.
