    • Excellent blend of old style and modern Hotel with exceptionally friendly and well trained staff . Great Gym and Swimming pool with excellent SPA . Really excellent breakfast . Super relaxing
    • The grounds, pools and trees are stunning. The interiors are modern and beautiful. Staff are very friendly and professional.
    • Lovely staff and beautiful gardens

    Cons -

    • Restaurants were very nice but food selection was a bit all over the place and not special...unlike surrounding wine farm property restaurants which were amazing . Everything else really top class and would thoroughly recommend .
    • The food was disappointing.
    • Hotel under renovations and was not aware of this when I booked - limited spa facilities. Staff were however super friendly. Definitely worth a revisit when renovations complete.

Some of the friendliest and most caring staff I have met at a hotel. Beautiful countryside!

I found everything I need to heal after my surgery- peace, quiet, kindness understanding and the most amazing staff!!! great amenities, first class cuisine and beautiful gardens to walk… if ever you forgot what customer service is, experience this establishment and you’ll see why coming from California, the service is above average!

Attractive looking hotel and the grounds were kept immaculate, the cleaners also did a good job keeping the hotel very clean and tidy.

I booked this hotel as it looked a beautiful hotel in a tranquil spot in Somerset West, I booked a Deluxe King room as it showed a light airy room with doors opening out onto a patio with a table and chairs and a lounger, that is not what we got on arrival! We we showed to a dark and depressing room opening out on to a high brick wall (back of the spa). I complained and said it was not what I had booked (showed them the pictures) so I was moved to another room in the same block but at least you could see the garden from outside of the room, the room advertised is in another area of the hotel and of course they said was fully booked! We didn’t have a safe in the room, so we had to wait for a maintenance man to put one in a cupboard, it wasn’t fixed down so anyone could have been removed it with all our valuables inside. We were expecting to get Netflix but five other guests were watching so that was UNAVAILABLE to us. The next day we found the toilet seat had broken when we came back from breakfast, again we had to have a maintenance man in the room for at least an hour fixing the toilet. Throughout the whole two days we were there, we had to endure the incessant noise of tree cutting with chainsaws and a chipping machine and although this was not in the grounds of the hotel, there was no apology or even acknowledgment from the management that this was going on. I have travelled all over South Africa and usually in high end hotels or guest houses, I was expecting a lot from Erinvale as it was one of the most expensive establishments I have stayed in but unfortunately it did not meet up to expectations, we have stayed in far better places for a fraction of what we were charged here.

The staff was excellent, friendly and efficient (especially the restaurant staff). The food is exceptionally good. At a fair price. The luxurious finishes in the rooms are very European quality and in Africa, a very pleasant experience. The fact that no loadshedding was experienced, was also a sigh of relief.

Even though the finishes are at a very high standard, the water / plumbing is very sad to say, poor. It is impossible to shower in room 6 as the water temperature is either very hot or very cold (never in the middle), and the taps do not allow for easy temperature adjustment. So much so, that it can take up to 5-10min to set the taps to a desired temperature as it is by touching the tap, either burning hot or super cold. This however is a fractional comment since one does not shower all day long.

    Good breakfast

A little overpriced for what is offered. The rooms can do with upgrading.

A beautiful oasis of calm gardens so well manicured and the pool areas very serene . Staff amazing and went out their way to be very helpful . Breakfast a treat

The bathrooms and the spa are now both dated . Rooms are great which makes the bathrooms age stand out

Extremely helpful, kind and accommodating staff. Great location, very comfortable and spacious room, nice sized bathroom. Wonderful breakfast, varied choice of fruit and cooked options.

Location near a wedding venue out in Somerset west. Rooms lovely with balconies. Definitely the place to stay out in Somerset west.

The mini bar being empty made it feel like a 2 star hotel.

    6VincentPosted on: 1-11-2024

The venue and hotel is charming.

The room is small for what you pay for;The minibar was not stocked; One of the hotel staff accused me of not paying for drinks I ordered at the pool the previous day even though we only checked in the following day;The welcome letter was addressed to Mr and Mrs which was an assumption and lack of attention to detail as it is Mr and Mr. The person that checked us in had an oil stain on his white shirt - and I was focussed on this during the entire check in process.

Beautiful interior design and gardens. Great staff. Lovely breakfast terrace

I was only given my spa discount in my room when I went straight to spa at 2pm so it would have been useful to get this from reception. Breakfast options seemed a bit limited eg I was not offered any eggs or hot food beyond the buffet.

    10VenessaPosted on: 1-5-2024

Attention to detail. Luxurious rooms. Excellant Linen. Real milk in the fridge for your coffee. Attentive staff. 3 restaurants. Room service. The epitome of 5*.

Close to Vergelegen Wine Farm where we hosted a birthday party. Comfortable double bedroom with separate lounge, bedroom & on suite bathroom.

No balcony from suite upstairs and no walk out onto a patio/garden.

Very well maintained, two excellent restaurants, professional service and proximity to golf

    5JacquesPosted on: 11-18-2023

Rooms were great and staff very friendly.

TV remote did not work correctly (both our rooms).Hotel generator right outside my room, switched on from 22:00 to 00:00 during load shedding. Too close to rooms and too loud to sleep! Sometime between 01:15 and 01:30 a number of rooms very loud smoke alarms started to sound for 10 to 15 mins..apparently for no reason... Managment did not know why (next morning) and it meant the end of our sleep for the evening! At the room rate charged for both rooms (more than R5,000 each), our experience was extremely dissapointing!
