Separate living room and a refrigerator. Breakfast is good. About a 15 minute walk to Main Street shops and restaurants. Close to ski resort. Quite place at night.

The room is quite small. The shower is especially small.Everything is compensated for by the simply amazing breakfast and excellent service.

Service and amazing breakfast

Attractive and well managed property in a very nice location, a short walk up from the main part of town and very near the base of the Olympic ski jumps. Housekeeping daily if requested. Great breakfast.

Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Location was good though I had trouble finding it at first. Bed was comfortable, room decent size. Seemed a little dated. Nice to have laundry available to do on own without extra charge. Sink was leaking in my room. I didn't notice it until late in evening. Breakfast buffet was extensive and fresh. WiFi had occasional trouble.

Rooms could use some updating. Rest of the building is quite modern.

Amazing breakfast, best in the six weeks that I spent in Europe. Nice, basic apartment with a ton of sleeping capacity. We were four, but it could have easily held six without feeling crowded. Incredible value. Had two bathrooms in the apartment.

Linens and towels are in the room, but you'll have to make your own bed. Not a big deal.

We booked as overnight stay while driving up to Trondheim for a conference. We wish we had more time to stay longer, hotel was great and the surrounding was lovely. The room we were given was I think one the best rooms in the hotel. The breakfast was great also we enjoyed the perfect view from the breakfast room. We wish we had time to explore other amenities.

We cannot complain about anything other than lack of time to stay longer :)

Perfect location, big room accommodating 4 people, great shower. Modern decoration, really nice feeling in the room with the family.

Missed some facilities like frigo bar, small kitchen or coffee maker at the room - but all is available in common areas. No surprises, all was clear from the beginning.

We stayed in the main building. Everything was good with the room. The breakfast was great with lots of choices. Location is good as there is plenty of free parking. 10-15 minute walk to the Sentrum with a pedestrian only zone and lots of restaurants and shops. Breakfast is very busy early when the athletes from the nearby Olympic Park are eating but it calms down later. It’s an opportunity to dine with aspiring and future olympians.

The bed was extraordinary, the staff very nice and friendly and the breakfast was amazing.

This is the third time I come back to Birkebeinen Hotel - fantastic place and location. It is close to the 1994 Olympic Stadium and the atmosphere is phenomenal!

Incredibly cheap for the quality! Obviously not a super fancy hotel, but clean and comfortable! We didn’t realize that the Olympic Park was right behind the hotel so we asked about walking up the ski jump and the front desk said it was open to the public and that we could get there on a path by the hotel. Instantly ran up there which was fun! The breakfast was amazing and the lobby was really fun. We booked a normal double room for two and it came with a pull out couch and double bunk bed pull out. Would’ve been perfect if we had a couple kids so keep that in mind for small families. Parking was free and easy. WiFi was good. If I ever come back to Lillehammer I’ll definitely stay here!

the rooms were clean, the location was interesting, breakfast was good

the elevator does not to the top floor where our rooms were so we had to drag heavy luggage on stairs, the main breakfast room was very crowded - too many tables and chairs in so that it was nearly impossible to get to the further, more quiet room, the rooms were very spacious but no storage, no shelves....

The room was clean, the breakfast was good, and the staff was very nice. Can't expect more hands-down the best hotel in the area!
