BON Hotel Empangeni

The place is immaculate.

It's a hotel. I get it, room service. That's why I didn't rate it low. And if you're wondering why I went for it, it was a last minute booking, else I wouldn't have. The BnBs are beating the hotels with their microwaves to warm up your food and mini fridges to chill your drinks, irons and ironing boards in the room, all with a lower price. So the hotel is not great value for your money. Hotels should include such equipment by the way. It helps us to be flexible on our trip.

I have stayed numerous times but this was far by disappointing.

Guys the maintenance guy needs to do checks per room especially for such a busy weekend. Rooms were dirty. lights missing. The bathroom too was not properly cleaned. Let's do better guys.

The place is beautiful from the time you enter the security gate all the way into your room. The staff was exceptional. We booked the room late in the day and got there around about 11 pm, we were warmly welcomed into a clean room. I enjoyed the peace and quiet we had during our stay and the care we received from the staff. The place is close to town so getting what we needed was a breeze. All in all I enjoyed my stay.

Breakfast was a bit limited compared to what I am familiar with and there were delays in the chafing dishes being filled -especially for the price of the breakfast

Staff were not readily available to pour you coffee - buffet area is a bit dark

They have great staff at reception, they were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was fine and clean.

They leave the room service dishes in the passage for almost the whole day and the passage and steps were not cleaned properly. Z

Yet again I was moved from room 32 to room 38, toilet was flooding. In 38 there was a huge dead cockroach

The staff we so helpful! We had left our charger some time in December and when we booked again, and asked about it we got it!! Lovely Staff!

The Aircon remote was attached to the Aircon in our room, which is impractical! We booked as couple but only one big towel was available and one water bottle in the fridge! The pillows were uncomfortable, terribly flat! I think it could use with minor renovations, the work table had so many scratches!

Booking included breakfast via booking. comBut we we were told that we needed to pay R200 each person for breakfast

It was affordable

The aircon in my room was making a noisy sound. In the restaurant they ran out of muesli during breakfast.

Value for money

When the reception refused to assist with a simple request. We had to ask for the manger who then assisted without hesitation

The price was good. The hotel was decent and clean. The staff very friendly and helpful.

Room 1,2 and 3 were clean and comfortable. The linen was clean including that of room 10.

Room 10 was dirty. It looked and smelled like a room that just had repairs done and was not cleaned or ventilated properly. Even the painting of the ceiling is not completed and that's the first thing you see when you wake up.There were marks on the sink that we initially thought were permanent, but on day 2, the staff cleaned and these marks were gone. The shower was dirty. It had hair that was not ours. The curtains were dirty. The aircon was making a loud noise.

Breakfast was good and well prepared, it's just that it's a little bit expensive R189 pp?

Joooo..... That was a killer! The room that we were allocated into, the surage system was so bad that the odour filled the room, jooo... They tried disinfectant chemicals but the odour didn't go. Also the air conditioner was not working properly. We informed the staff some came and viewed the room and were willing to assist but others were mocking us claiming that the temperature was not high in such a way that air conditioning was needed.So jah that's it.

Friendly and helpful staff at reception. Cleanliness of the room with enjoyable luxury features and safe parkings for the cars. Friendly securities at the gate.Much appreciated.

Very affordable, central and neat

I was not informed that the accommodation fee did not include the breakfast. I paid extra for the food that I did not enjoy. The bacon was dry, eggs too oily. Most of the breakfast items were not available to order.. nothing was on displayed. Yoghurt was off had to ask for it to be returned. Breakfast was a disaster but the rooms were amazing

Good property. Spacious room with a mini bar fridge. Comfortable bed.

The walls are thin, so you can hear what’s happening around you

The staff very unprofessional, very rude and that’s definitely not the way to speak to customers. Waited for hours at the reception without getting help because they were clueless. Had to call Booking and was told they have language barrier, please train your staff very well to avoid what I experienced. It was my first time booking and Bon Hotel and definitely the last time.

Staff responsive and professional. The toilet in our room was leaking we reported it and our room was changed immediately. That meant so much to us . We truly appreciate it ??
