- Superb evening meal and breakfast.
- Lovely location. Helpful staff.Comfortable rooms and pets allowed
- We had a fantastic stay , the staff were brilliant they looked after us all day and night and the morning after the breakfast was superb.
Cons -
- The only point I didn't see on the booking or informed was that when dinner is included, it actually limits you to £35 pp - not a major issue as the food was exceptional anyway...more a small point.
- Breakfast was very slow on the second morning of our stay.
- The service is very poor. The room was not cleaned at all for two days, and there is no proper lighting in the room; the lighting is very poor.

Excellent stay at The Villa, lovely breakfast with great variety. Lovely staff and liked it's original character.
Close to Blackpool
Corridor where room was smelt really strongly of dogs and had requested a room with no dogs as very allergic to certain breeds
Lovely place, unfortunately missed breakfast but had it last time I stayed which was wonderful so was very disappointed that I slept in
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Building and grounds were lovely. Very clean and tidy
Nice building in a lovely area. Room was what was expected for a good price. Clean and quiet. Bed was comfy
Hotel with character and old world charm. Relaxed atmosphere with well appointed rooms and personabke and attentive staff.
Location good for my trip, staff very friendly and breakfast good
The hotel has undergone a lot of expansion and renovation of its event facilities but I felt the room needed updating.
Receptionist Liz super helpful and friendly amazing service also kaitlyn I think younger blonde girl helpful and friendly , Bar staff all brilliant , housekeeping also extremely good no issues here , can’t wait for the refurb , food really good
Ambience Staff.very attentive
needs updatinf
The bar and restaurant and overall look of the hotel although currently being refurbished. The head waiter i the restaurant was very helpful and friendly and the food was very good
The shower didn't work
Location and car parking. Ease to travel to. Availability
The bed was old and uncomfortable. The furniture in the room was old and dated.Promote themselves as dog friendly but a page full of rules greeted us on arrival. Not pet friendly at all At breakfast we felt a little like an inconvenience to them Such a shame as venue has so much potential - everything and everyone just needs to step up a bit
Room comfortable, and warm and clean Breakfast delicious Dinner delicious and exceptional first night, but night two food got a little muddled with the party I was with Staff friendly
Perhaps there could have been some heating in the room that our party had our evening meal, everyone was a little chilly , and although we had all put our order in on a sheet of paper with our names , earlier in the day, the order was mixed up at dinner
Check in was very good, room was clean and heating was on
Staff in bar were inexperienced and the lady at breakfast was swamped so a delay in service. Breakfast was cold and badly presented
We have stayed multiple times over the year's, the location is great, breakfast was good and Tracey was excellent as ever serving us all. On Friday night there was a waiter called Matt who also went above and beyond to meet our every needs.
Saturday morning around 8am 18 of us pre ordered our evening meals, we sat down at 7.30pm and evening was either wrong or the steaks were over cooked. Total chaos. The manager did give us a refund for our evening meals. This hotel has always been fantastic, it now has a new owner and I'm sure he will be wanting it back to how it used to be or even better. Hopefully things change and we will try it again one day.
Have stayed here a couple of times now & it is always welcoming, clean & tidy. The dogs love it.
Very idyllic countryside hotel, lovely exterior. Staff is very friendly.
The renovation that started every morning and it sounded like the wall was coming down any second. I had a small dog (for which I paid 40£) and she was scared to death of the noise. Both, the pet fee and the renovation should have been mentioned upon reservation.
