- Its character and great customer service and location
- Lovely hotel. Very comfy bed. Spotless bathroom. Great service in the restaurant for Sunday evening meal particularly.
- Comfy bed, nice spa facilities, good breakfast, great location
Cons -
- Antiquated TV - would have expected a smart TV given the 4 star rating. Cumbersome, uncomfortable arm chairs in the room. The hot tub wasn't working properly.Queueing to be seated in the dining area was, at times, clumsy given the close proximity of the lift
- Because we booked with booking.com we were put in the annex, this was not obvious from the booking. The room was dark and basic.
- Bed was a little on the small side and mattress soft

Central seafront location.Friendly staff.Comfortable,spacious room.Relaxing spa facilities.Delectable dining.
Location, staff, facilities and breakfast excellent.
High prices of food for evening meals.Ate out.
staff were very helpfull
being told on arival that we had been booked into an anex down the road, they claimed this was the fault of booking, com? had i known i would not have booked this hotel, noisy heating system, very poor beaverage facility, very small tv, located in a bad position, bathroom floor dangerious when wet due to open shower unit, many tiles cracked light bulbs not all working, breakfast menu limited to just a few items, bacon overcooked in an oven, this is a 2 star hotel at best.
We had a 2 night stay at the Grand. Friendly staff and a great hotel. Excellent Breakfast
The beer selection limited
Room was clean, well furnished, and spacious. We got a partial view of the sea, which was pleasant. The breakfast was very good, though two very common breakfast items were missing: mushrooms and beans.
The range of available dishes for an evening meal seemed rather limited. The range of drinks available from the bar was also limited. I prefer beer, yet the choice here was limited to just a handful of the regular well known beers that you can get anywhere, which isn't really good enough.
The staff were exceptional, especially the reception staff. They did everything to make my stay a happy one. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile.I also enjoyed all the meals I had in the restaurant including breakfast, lunch and dinner. The chef makes a delicious soup.My bed was very comfortable.
Nothing to criticise
Excellent spa facilities, some of the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the lady who served breakfast.
Waiter in the restaurant was rather frosty, some attention to detail necessary for a hotel charging top prices. E.g. no safe or tissues in the room, car charger not working so had to walk to the annexe where I was charged £10 for 40 miles of charge.
All clean, very comfortable, lovely bath room, good food and staff very friendly and welcoming.
Heater unit in wall was very noisy and rattled. Caused disturbed sleep
Loved the hotel
Annex, distance from the hotel, the storm the morning we left, only couple in the building , had to use side door , owing to very strong winds, difficulty getting door open , then to close , storm
Hotels location. Room upgrade, breakfast( apart from bacon) was lovely.
Gave us no notice prior of the leisure and spa closing for filming, had spa treatment booked and was then going to chill after but wasnt able too. Surely you would known before the day, very inconvienient.Plastic cups in rooms ,horrid cheap nasty things and surely with all the talk about getting rid of plastics you should set example.Only 1 teabag in room, also crappy wooden stirrers instead of a proper teaspoon is very poor for a 4 star hotel. Bacon on breakfast nowhere near as good as last time we stayed, precooked and like leather.
Good
Would have preferred to of stayed in the Grand hotel instead of having to walk next door but one from the annex!!!Was freezing and didn’t use the facilities as to cold may as well as stayed in an apartment on the front a lot cheaper!!!
The room was clean and facilities excellent. Breakfast was nice
The room was small and overpriced (in my opinion) at £200. Also the bar prices were a tad excessive. Over £5 for what wasn't even a pint(it was a schooner) and the breakfast vegetarian options were limited
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable , well equipped, and spotless. Fantastic leisure facilities. All the meals were great. It was my wife's birthday, and she really felt special
Had breakfasts twice, one very good, one indifferent. Service was good but food quality average.
Crispy bacon was nor crispy, sausages very ordinary.
Hotel very clean and well maintained, good spa facilities, meals lovely with excellent service

The Grand Hotel is an absolutely an amazing hotel with an exceptional restaurant and bar. The vast options in wine selection are a nice touch. Breakfast and dinner are absolutely phenomenal. The sparkle of this hotel are the staff. They go above and beyond to meet your needs. They are genuine and make an effort to accommodate and meet your needs.
