Cons -
- Banging outside my window kept me awake all night (all but the bar staff leave around 5:00 pm). Although they moved me to another room the next day, it should have been an upgrade instead of the same, worn-out type room.

The location
The decor was very dated particularly in the bar and restaurant areas.
Location was perfect for an overnight stay before heading to Skye. The view from the room was stunning.
Beautiful location right on the water. Restaurant was delicious. Staff was super friendly.
Some things could have used upgrading but you could tell they were trying to make improvements.
the location was great. There was a nice view from the hotel. The staff was very kind and lovely.
The property was really outdated and our room and right outside of our room was moldy. The ceiling was literally collapsed and hanging just outside of our room. There was visible mold.We literally had to keep the window open or we were congested immediately, we thought about leaving a night early but the location was great and it was booked up in the area.
Very nice place to stay and friendly, helpful staff.
A major storm caused a power failure during our stay and there was no backup power system.
The view from our pod was incredible, and the pod itself was really nice too. More spacious than we thought. The highlight of this stay was the view from our patio/deck in the morning. The kitchen was helpful too. Breakfast in the morning was decent and the person helping at breakfast was nice.
The staff at reception/front desk could be friendly. Adding small things to the pod would be helpful like hand soap, paper towels etc. TV didn't really work properly. Cost of pod is quite high too.
The loch is very beautiful that the hotel sits on. It was perfect for a (cold!) morning dip and beautiful views of Scotland's landscape. Check in and out were easy and the car park was convenient. The pods looked nice. It was a place to sleep.
The walls/windows were not soundproof at all and we were awoken very early by a large tour group leaving and people talking on their phones outside our window. There were some dogs that were aggressive staying in the pods that made beach strolling/swimming noisy and concerning. The rooms and hotel were more dated / shabbier than expected, but it was a place to sleep. The restaurant looked lackluster, so we decided to eat elsewhere. I wish we had stayed in Fort William since there is nothing in Onich except a few hotels.
Nice little hotel with an Amazing Location! We stayed in a Loch View room in the hotel. The room would benefit from updating, but was comfortable. The hotel restaurant and bar was a bonus after a long day of sightseeing and hiking. The food was delicious and the cocktails were prepared with care. The staff in the restaurant and bar were absolutely amazing. Even though there was no air conditioning, we were able to open the windows, which was a bonus!
There is no elevator. This is inconvenient if you are located on the 2nd floor. Since there was no staff on hand to assist with our bags, a very kind guest helped.
The location is good - on the shore of the lake, with plenty of parking.
The room is tiny: if you have long legs, you cannot use the toilet. The shower is small as well. The fan in the bathroom is noisy, it turns on whenever you turn on the light, but it does not turn off when you turn off the light. There is no one at the reception during the night, so if you have a problem (like a noisy fan) - there is no one who can help you.The hotel's decor is from the 70s.
The breakfast was good! The location was beautiful right off the Loch. The staff was accommodating.
I agree with the other reviews that the facility is not worth the price point when considering the other places I looked at on booking.com. There was some discrepancy of what was listed as the price when I booked on booking.com and what was charged, this might have been due to the fact we added the breakfast. We stayed in the hotel! I can't speak about the beach pods that the hotel had available they looked quite new and nice. The room was in need of some updates, carpet is worn, the one side of the closet was in need of repair. Curtain looked faded and had paint on it.
The location was amazing. About halfway between Glencoe and Fort William right on the Loch… it was breathtaking! I could have stayed on the beach right outside the hotel forever. The breakfast and dinner options were absolutely delicious. The bar was also lovely, with a few places outside and inside to relax and enjoy a dram :)
It was on the water and it had free parking. The bed was comfy.
The main hotel needs a refresh. We rented the cottage and it was fine. Nice bathroom but felt a bit drab on main floor of the cottage. The bed was comfortable and clean.
The location and compared to other accommodations in the area the price. Shower was good.
The room was falling apart - the ceiling was peeling away and there was a dead wasp on the windowsill. Not very cozy. For 1 night on your way somewhere it’s fine, if you are planning to stay for an extended time stay in one of their pods or somewhere else.
We (American couple) are on a whirlwind tour of England and Scotland. The Onich Hotel was the shining star of the hotels we've stayed in so far.Everything from the room, restaurant, breakfast, bar, and the bar tenders' advice on the best Scotch Whiskey was perfect. The view of the bens and loch from our room was breathtaking. The beach pods looked like they would make a wonderful summer holiday.
Location and view
Room was missing bath mat & soap in bathDuvet is too heavy especially when tucked in. Provide separate sheet as well.
Hotel is in a great location right on the water—beautiful. The breakfast was great! Real fried eggs in the buffet which you almost never see. Great fried mushrooms. Good selection. The room was comfortable with a great view of the water.
The breakfast didn’t start until 8 which was a little late to get started for hiking, etc.
We stayed at the Onich Hotel in one of their Lochside Beach Pods, and it was an absolute delight. The view from our pod was breathtaking—right on the edge of the loch, with serene waters stretching out before us. The pod itself was cozy and well-equipped, offering all the amenities needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay.We especially enjoyed the private porch, complete with two inviting chairs—perfect for sipping a drink and soaking in the scenery. The restaurant staff were exceptional: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was high quality and beautifully prepared, making each meal a pleasure. This a great location to explore the natural beauty of the Scottish Highlands.
Grounds could use a little sprucing up.
Beautiful views, cool little cottages. Full size bar and restaurant, lots of parking. Nice And quiet get away.
Cottages could be spaced a bit better but that's all
