Pros +
- View of Loch Levin
- The location was really nice. Beautiful views of the loch: The restaurant was delicious with great service.
- The location, general atmosphere, dining room and bar were all excellent!
Cons -
- The hotel is tired and very disappointing given the price. While the hotel says if you come early, you can hang out in their coffee lounge, we were met with a bit of an attitude. Breakfast was poor.
- Room 11 is directly over the bar so it sounds like people are in your closet while you would like to be sleeping . My parents did not have that issue in their room and slept great. So my lower score is for room 11.
- Floorboard in room was a bit creaky but this is to be expected for the age of the building. It didn't affect our stay in any way.

Beautiful property, clean, perfect location. Definitely worth upgrading to the loch view rooms!
Easy check-in, we arrived very late and the man who greeted us couldn't have been more helpful. We even had a free room upgrade. Room was lovely and clean, breakfast was beautiful especially the views. The owners made a special effort for valentines day which was a lovely touch. The Staff couldn't do enough for you, I would definitely recommend to friends, we will be going back next year.

The location is stunning! The hotel sits right on the riverside, and having breakfast with that view in the morning was a highlight of the trip. Despite the room issues, the beds were actually very comfortable, and the general decor of the room (outside of the bathroom) was good.
While the main hotel looks lovely, the economy cottages are located in a separate building and are very dated. We stayed during a snowy night with sub-zero temperatures, and the room was freezing; the heaters simply couldn't keep up. The bathrooms are also incredibly cramped. The photos online were quite misleading regarding the age and quality of these units. If you stay here, make sure to book a room in the main building instead.
Friendly staff
No water heater in the room. On of the bathroom do not have a screen.
Location
I left four necklaces in my room and the staff claimed to never find them which to me is theft. They never even responded to my emails and my husband had to call them at which time they said they never found them. Either the cleaners stole them or someone working there did because I am 100% sure they were left in the room. Dishonest staff, rundown old building.
This is a very cosy little hotel on Ballachulish with the nicest staff and a very delightful pub with a roaring fire.
Nothing to actively dislike just that room and bed were small but nothing bigger was promised so it isn’t a complaint.
This is an absolutely beautiful location. The pod we stayed in was surprisingly warm in contrast to the freezing temperatures outside. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious.
The staff were amazing. The owner was always there to greet us and make sure we had everything we needed. The staff were really friendly and happy to help with anything. The breakfast was generous and the fish and chips for dinner was great. We stayed in one of the pods perfect for 2 people! There are a few other pods in the area and each have little lights strung around making them look lovely when it snows. While we were there it snowed quite a lot but the path to and from the main hotel building and our pod was always cleared. The owner showed us to our room and the room was preheated with underfloor heating. There is a distillery onsite you can do rum and gin sessions (we didn't book it but maybe next time) so before dinner we were able to sample their spirits - all lovely. We will be buying them online. At breakfast the view of the mountains from the restaurant is absolutely breathtaking. We had dinner at another place down the road the view was nice of the loch but the food was basic but the Loch Leven Hotel views were stunning and the food was great. You can get on to the beach and round into the forest from the hotel gardens to see some of the more secluded lochsA short drive away there is a Coop over the bridge and it is not far from Fort William for larger shops/ high street. Honestly completely worth the money and we will definitely be returning, any time of the year!
Nothing to fault!
The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and attentive to us. The hotel itself has the cozy atmosphere of a family home, with excellent food and drinks! We had the budget accommodation option in the Annex room. The room was clean and very cozy, could park the car right in front of it, helpful for when unloading the bags.We were lucky with the weather. It snowed overnight, and by morning the mountains were completely white. The view from the breakfast room could not have been better! The hotel even has its own gin distillery. Their gin can be bought at the hotel bar, we really enjoyed it. Having a great gin in such a welcoming bar, with locals singing traditional songs and guests joining in the celebrations, made the experience truly special.
I arrived with my partner for his birthday and we both had a great stay there. The staff was amazing and very friendly, they even gave my partner a birthday card with the best wishes from them all and put a candle in his desert. We really enjoyed staying in one of their pods- floor heating was a nice surprise to have in the wintery days. The full Scottish breakfast was very tasty and so was their dinner. We tasted their rum and had tasty beer in their cute small bar. The location is great! So many things to see and enjoy around. I highly recommend the place and wish I can visit them again in the near future.
Excellent location, great staff and comfortable room.
A lot of cobwebs in my room.
The location was breathtaking. The staff and family that own and run the hotel are amazing. Beautiful people with great communication skills. Gave time to every guest and the best hosts we have ever had.
Leaving!
Bar area was warm and friendly, staff were attentive.
Shower was hit and miss, temperature inconsistent, breakfast was inedible. Room cost £180 b&b, didn’t represent value for money and when we gave feedback on the areas we felt they could improve on, we were asked not to rebook by the owner! Charming, since they’ve only owned the hotel for 6 months and actively asked for feedback on our stay.
Nice location with nice view. Free car park.
When we arrived radiator was off (room and bathroom was very cold). Windows was very dusty, bath was dirty (yellow stains) and shower is black. On selling was black cob webb.We had a breakfast including but on the first morning we had just a shop sliced sausages, and other cold bits. Outside is cold and cheff didn't show up because short if customers, I think this is not fair to us. In cold weather you would expect warm full breakfast.
Staff, food, location were great.
The pods were smaller than expected - especially the bathroom. Although quite comfortable, there were maintenance issues on mine. I can't imagine 2 people in there for more than a night.
The location is perfect for exploring Glencoe, the views are amazing!
The bed was extremely uncomfortable, but I guess this is personal preference. The bathroom door didn’t fully close. The restaurant prices are extremely high.Breakfast was poor.
Reindly staff and good food with a room with a great view
The breakfast was very continental, but cooked food would have been welcome given the time of the year as it was witnter
