    Very Good

    Pros +

    • Traditional pub and location
    • Very friendly atmosphere the room very modern and good bathroom
    • pies where great, basic pub grub, nothing like streak and chip for a special occasion. in the middle off nowhere, very quiet in september, may be very busy in summer months.

    Cons -

    • Very hot and no air conditioning. I ordered Sausage and mash. £17+ for a definitely microwave meal from supermarket.
    • depending who was on in the bar your food order could take over a hour.
    • Dinner wasn’t that good. Room was tight no where to put suitcases and no counter space in bathroom. Not very well insulated, could hear neighbours. TV too small. Too many noisy dogs allowed in pub.

Quaint and quirky, fairly quiet. Breakfast was good.

Very warm welcome and the staff continued to be incredibly kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.Breakfast was excellent as was the two meals we had at the Smithy.

Really charming little inn that's sort of off the beaten track, but it suited my walking route. Lovely, large garden with lots of tables for enjoying the restaurant menu and bar, My friend and I sat for hours in the evening sun enjoying the setting. Charming room, which suited me quite well and was very cozy, but might have been a challenge for tall guests. The room my friend stayed in was much larger, with high, vaulted ceilings, so this is worth mentioning when making a reservation. Bathroom was modern and clean, with heated towel rack. Polite staff!

    No complaints!

Lovely old country pub,we stayed in an annexe at top of garden with our own private decking, great views on a clear day.Our stay included our breakfast which my hubby enjoyed his freshly cooked full English with a pot of coffee and a glass of juice.Landlady was lovely and friendly and a very good host and we will stay again.

Lack of wi-fi ,signal very bad and also the shower was good but floor ended up soaking so had to use a towel for safety purposes. Also skylight window wasn't closed properly so when we came back from a day out our bedding was wet where storming outside and leaked thru window. Can't complain really just a couple of things

The location and I had the private Nook

I couldn’t get the towel rail to work

A lovely pub in the countryside. We stayed in The Nook, which is a converted bart with loads of charm. Very nicely decorated and cosy. The pub itself offers various local beers and freshly cooked food. The breakfast is simply perfect.

    Nothing :)

The Old Smithy Inn is set in beautiful countryside. We stayed on an amazing separate unit opposite the pub. It was toasty warm & relaxing with a beautiful sunset.Breakfast was delicious ? Landlady & staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome,Fantastic stay.

    Loved it all

Beautiful thatched pub in a tiny village far away from the bustle of life. Like stepping back in time. Lovely cabins at the end of the garden (set away from the pub) with good beds and nice showers. The food is plentiful and tasty, and the breakfast will set you up for the day. We travelled as a group and we all loved the place. The staff are fab. Great value for money too.

The location is perfect if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle. The people who run it are lovely especially the lady. The best breakfast and the shower was awesome

The most welcoming warm environment I have ever visited. Fantastic pint of Guinness. The location is stunning not far from the start of the Cornish coast path. fantastic tasty breakfast. Amazing value for money. Unfortunately my car broke down and I was helped by everybody to get it sorted out so I could be on my way. Huge thanks to everyone

Lovely old pub with friendly staff, the food was great. The accommodation was separate from the main building and was spotless clean and well thought out. Would definitely stay again.

Due to the age of the property there are a lot of steps to get to different areas. The staff were very accommodating to help with this.

Perfect location, lovely welcome and friendly staff. The rooms were lovely and gave privacy and a small outside seating area. Amazing breakfast included.Would definitely recommend.

There are a lot of steps around the property, difficult if you have mobility problems.

We deliberately went off season. We were worried the room would be cold (as it was cold outside) but the heating was superb!! Very comfy stay and the team made sure that I had decaff coffee, which I really appreciated. Smashing breakfast, everyone very friendly

The room was cosy and heated up well in February with the radiator and the bathroom underfloor heating was a lovely touch. The bed was comfy and the place was so quiet. WiFi also worked great. The breakfast was brilliant, huge freshly cooked full English with buffet continental. Really friendly staff and a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

The room could have been slightly cleaner, for example the teaspoon was used and dirty and there was moisture inside the cafetière. But everything was great other than this.
