Pros +
- I could not enter the building as I could not unlock the front door
- the rooms were comfortable and clean. lovely bedding, very comfy beds. lovely presentation
- Atrocious - Not recommended until refurbish work is completed.
Cons -
- the over powering air fresheners, the shower didnt consistently work in our room. the parking didnt feel very safe. the windows did not provide sound barriers to the very noisy road.
- One of the rooms we were given was so small the door caught on the bed when you opened it. Nowhere to store our suitcases, that's assuming we could get them into the room. Building and renovation work is more extensive than we were led to believe and the area looks like one big construction site. Dust everywhere and the outside of the building is filthy. Narrow walkway beside the busy road made it almost impossible to walk to the entrance without getting dirty,Never saw a member of staff and when we tried to contact them, their phone was diverted to voice message and our calls and messages were not returned.
- No WiFi or TV remote so unable to use any electronics. No fan so quite warm and had the window open and could hear the traffic, however it wasn't that noisy. Floors and beds very creaky. Didn't realise car park was the other side of the main road so not ideal. Refurbishments in progress so a bit of a building site

Not far from Southampton although not near any great civilisation! Room fine for one night and just for sleeping. No doubt much better when pub is open

Breakfast was great nice easy going stay comfortable and clean room
The property itself looks lovely and staff are polite.
Heating was turned off quite early in the evening and was very very cold, no extra pillows or blankets around and couldn’t ask the staff as they had shut up pub earlier then said. No entertainment at all. Bed was uncomfortable and hard. Blanket was thin, pillows flat and unequal. windows in room and bathroom had gaps making the traffic incredibly loud and allowing a breeze in. No tv downstairs in the pub just the locals watching off a iPad and had a lifeless feeling in its “restaurant area”
Pleasant welcome, comfortable adequate room and bathroom, excellent dinner and breakfast and very friendly landlady and clientelle. Our dog was made welcome.
The bathroom had a minor plumbing issue and the room although comfortable if a little tight.
The staff are amazing and very friendly couldn't of done more for us, the bar is cozy and the food is incredible, we dined here a few times and it's one of the best for quality and taste, the breakfast is bang on, its included in the price but they do not scrimp on the produce, the sausages and bacon must be local, the egg are lovely, the coffee comes in a cafeteria and is very nice.
Its a shame it's right on a main road and cars are going up and down that road all day and night so its noisy, the bed was comfy and the room a good size, the pillows were very thin and I found it hard to sleep. The decor could be better but I forgive it for the price, it seems to have been done on a budget and I can appreciate that. This is the second time we have stayed overnight and we had the same issue last time.My main bug bear and the reason why we wont say here again is the cleanliness of the bathroom in the room, is dusty the floor is unclean especially the corners, the toilet was not clean in the slightest, its was dusty dirty had hairs on the rim and spots of wee, I didn't get a chance to make the owner aware, however I will send them a email explaining this and that they may need to have a word with their cleaner.
Great food very clean
The road was busy but we knew this. The back rooms are fine.
Very friendly, very clean very close to the cruise terminal. Excellent staff
Was peaceful
Shower needed descaling was painful to shower the bathroom needed tlc few bit of mould with the bed had hairs in still and was very cold room
Really enjoyed our stay, good location and very good value for money. The landlady was amazing and the pub was very cosy. Would definitely visit again.
Some furniture could be updated and the road was loud (however we were warned about this so wasn’t a problem). The sign for the parking could do with being lit up as we missed it a few times
Breakfast was brilliant
Cold room heater wasnt working but van heater was offered
The accommodation was good. Hosts were excellent. Very nice pub/hotel. Very nice hosts. Food was very good, both dinner and breakfast.
Everything was very satisfactory. Would definately stay again if in the area.
Good food at very fair prices. Very friendly staff.Real fire in October
Breakfast was beautifully cooked and plentiful. Evening meal also exceptional. Also liked how the receptionist/bar tender was so willing and helpful.
The only downside was the bedroom was in the eave’s area and was somewhat smaller than we would have liked. (Husband caught his head on the slanted ceiling a couple of times). However, we did request a back room because we’d read it was noisy at the front because the inn was on a main road.
Lovely friendly pub with superb food. We ate dinner there twice as well as the breakfast that was included and all was delicious, with friendly service too.
Lovely pub, easy parking, friendly landlord and lady and the food was excellent, we had breakfast and dinner at this lovely pub
Not keen on the comfort of mattress or pillows
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The accommodation is located in very good location for the new forest.
The room at the front overlooks a main road, the noise of which can be heard.
Friendly staff. Nice food.
Parts of the property would benefit from a deeper clean - particularly the handrail on the stairs to the rooms, and carpets.
