About
Nestled in 20 acres of the serene Somerset countryside, Homewood Bath is the ultimate staycation destination. Eclectic, luxurious and slightly eccentric; think grand Georgian country house and grounds filled with creative artworks. Ultra-modern indulgences are a must including their spa which features a hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room and heated outside hot tub swimming pool with unbroken views of the valley.. Gone are the days of the stuffy old posh hotels with dinner jackets and dresses at dinner. Homewood is firmly in the 21st century - relaxed and friendly without subtracting any of the high standards demanded of a luxury hotel. Locally sourced produce is at the heart of their restaurant 'Olio', with a large proportion of veggies used throughout the menu being grown on-site at their 'No-Dig Kitchen Garden'. Olio encapsulates the very best of British food with a unique Mediterranean twist. Whether enjoying a feast in the dashing dining domes, indulging in their famous afternoon tea or an amorous Sunday roast with all the trimmings, the emphasis is always on sustainable, often hedgerow fresh ingredients, with a proud, local provenance.

Pros +
- Gorgeous hotel, beautiful grounds, lovely spa, really kind and warm staff. Good food and sizeable portions too!
- Bed was so comfortable Room was warm and welcomingLovely lounge with a glorious open fire.
- The main reason for giving 10/10 is the exceptional service received. Reception and the restaurant teams were absolutely faultless and had a really personal vibe. We would book again based on the experience & the fact they also went the extra mile for our pup! Also it’s rare to find outdoor jacuzzi pools that are actually warm enough so never change it, it makes all the difference at a spa :) also amazing food/chef.
Cons -
- Not to say that it’s overpriced, but not a bargain either. We also were very underwhelmed by our spa treatments (massages).
- Ok for vegans but felt there could be a little more effort. We had to have the same evening meal each night. The same breakfast each morning.
- We switched rooms so no issue in the end, very happy, cosy mews rooms are too small with a dog so they need to advise that online.

Fantastic breakfast and little extras in the room such as Dyson hairdryer, bottled water and chocolate brownies! Unbeknown to us we were given the Honeymoon suite so we were blown away by the size of the room and the lovely bathroom
The water in the hydro pool was much colder than we were advised that it would be and noticeably colder than it was the last time we visited.
Staff food ambiance
Beautiful hotel with a lovely casual atmosphere
Arrived in time to take a shower before going to a dinner party at friends but unfortunately there was no hot waterThe hotel had sent a WhatsApp but we knew nothing about the WhatsApp set up.This is an experience hotel and believe we should have been possibly compensated as a gesture of goodwill.
Beautiful period property, lovely rooms and bathrooms
Very special hotel with great atmosphere. Beautiful grounds and 20 minutes from Bath city. Friendly staff to people and dogs ?Excellent spa treatments (recommending Marta). We will definitely be back
Comfortable room. Nice area. Good facilities. Dyson hairdryer. Thoughtful touches like sweets and water and milk for the room. Seb was helpful.
Why isn’t there a buffet breakfast. Went in for breakfast at least five people got served before us that came in after us. Staff make you feel like they couldn’t care less about you. Receptionist just about made up for poor service with refund but it’s embarrassing having to complain in the first place and shouldn’t happen when customer service is your only job. Pillows were thin and uncomfortable. Kept awake all night with paper thin walls and banging upstairs. Don’t recommend staying and wouldn’t stay again.
Beautiful house and grounds. Eclectic art and decor was great. All the staff friendly and helpful. Useful to have WhatsApp contact for question and help. Suite was spacious and comfortable. All meals were very good and we enjoyed dining in the pod.
All was great. Maybe a small gym would be a good addition
Breakfast was lovely, as was lunch. Staff were very attentive. Location was relaxing.
The spa area was a little too busy for my liking but the facilities were good. Plus the check in time was a little too late for someone coming to stay just for one night.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The spa experience was excellent ?
Cosy, welcoming, relaxing, attentive staff.
Food was good but very expensive - burger and fries £22. 125 ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc £17.50. Menu had variety but was too trendy and lacked wholesome staple dishes.
location, the grounds, appliances and Olio restaurant.
No hot water and heating when we arrived. Lack of transparency from the staff and manager that they had a gas leak when we arrived that affected all rooms. The staff managed us very poorly to start with and after our persistence to speak to Manager, we managed to get a refund for the stay and leave a hotel as they could not provide us with hot water and heating on the day we arrived.
Stunning property and beautiful grounds to walk around. Lovely staff and we were given a free room upgrade. The improvements to the pool area was a real treat. Very clean too
There could be slightly more choice at breakfast, maybe a continental with granola on and some fruit as well as the breakfast menu
Spa was nice, but it was disappointing that kids were not allowed to use most of it, especially when the weather was cold. Service of staff was very pleasant and decor of the hotel was very nice.
The breakfast service was very slow. We waited over 30 minutes for a coffee/tea, and when it arrived, it was not pleasant. We also had a special dinner booked in a dome, and once again, there were large delays between courses. This was particularly difficult as we had young kids who were very hungry; however, when the food did arrive, it was amazing.
Amazing quality of food and large portions in the restaurant. Beautiful grounds and the best Spa I've ever visited.
Amazing hotel! The attention to detail is insane. Quirky lighting and decor, pick n mix, additional milk and water for the room, wellies and umbrellas for walks in the rain. The room was stunning, comfortable with the most amazing bathroom. We had a fantastic breakfast in bed. The staff were all brilliant, so calm and friendly providing the most excellent service.
staff were great particularly reception. beautiful gardens an a quirky interior designe. fabulous spar area. bed very comfy and great black out curtains. restaurant food good although not a lot of choice on menu.
room to small for the price. had hot tub room with a terrace. chip to sink splash back and exposed wiring above sink. insufficient ventilation/extraction in bathroom to prevent steam. very low water pressure on shower. room 29.
Very good food and staff
The hotel is dated , the room had damp
